Fantastic update. On the occasion of Priya's birthday some ladies taunted Geet about her marriage. Finally Maan came out of his guilt and proposed to Geet for marriage and it happened. In the present loved the talks between Maaneet, about the impending surgery Geet has to face. Loved it. Waiting for next.

Chapter - 20

Night of The Infinite Stars

Running for tests and watching her fingers dig into her palms in pain made him restless. They had been in the hospital for the tests for hours now and it seemed the doctors were hell bent on torturing his wife. She didn't cry... worse, she didn't even make a sound when it hurt. All the machines and needles poking into her skin; he knew it must be hurting badly. But she was holding back. He knew she was holding back those tears and cried for him. he'd perhaps stop all this procedure and take her back home. He watched through the glass window, the doctors doing something with her eyes and then he watched her fingers curling into tight fists. But he couldn't have helped it. he had to make her okay and he, more than her, needed to stay strong.

The moment she was brought out, he hugged her tightly. She clutched his shirt but her hold wasn't tight like always. He knew why; he saw those tiny but painful marks of the needles and gently caressed it.

"You can cry, Love. I am sorry it hurt so much."

He felt her letting out a breath, a warm and ragged breath that told him of the physical pain she had endured. The doctors wanted to check everything about her, starting from heart rate to her blood sugar level and her blood pressure and many more things. She'd have to go another round of tests the day of her surgery.

"I...I am okay now." She spoke, calming herself. Her eyes still held water but she felt better. it was over! And she would go home with him. he lovingly guided her to the car, after checking with the doctor. He cooked in silence while she sat on the couch, resting. She still looked pale. He heard the phone ringing and rushed out to check. He stopped by the table and looked on, smiling. There she sat, trying to locate the cordless by its sound. It was just in front of her, on the table and she concentrated, imagining the room in her mind. It took her some effort to locate the phone and press the answer button that she remembered. He felt so happy to see her like that. She was making an effort. But again, he felt sad somewhere deep inside. Sad, that she was getting addicted to her disability. And hell he wouldn't
let that happen! He will make things right for her.

"Maa..." she cried in happiness. It had been so long that she had heard her mother.

And her mother was apologetic to have not been with her when her daughter needed her the most. Priya had gone to her home in the last two months of her pregnancy and Dadima wasn't keeping well. Avantika needed attention and she had stayed back to help Dev with things.

"Is Maan there? Put him on loudspeaker beta, I need to talk to you both!"

She didn't know now where the button sat and turned her head side to side to hear Maan's presence around. He realized she needed him and rushed to her. sitting beside, he pressed the loudspeaker button and pulled her close to him.

"Okay, I just wanted to share a happy news with you two. Dev and Priya are now proud parents of a baby boy!"

It was like a breath of fresh air to them... hearing a good news after so long. Geet almost cried in happiness and Maan couldn't wait to rush home and see his little nephew. They talked some more and Rano informed them of her arrival prior to the surgery.

"Can we talk to Priya now Maa?" Geet asked, with that childlike excitement in her.

"She is still in the hospital Geet. And its 1am here. I will call you tomorrow okay?"

They finished the call and she hugged him tightly.

"I am so happy Maan...I can't wait to see him."

He smiled, "we will be home soon Geet... very soon."

They remained like that for some time and she suddenly asked, "Can I really see him Maan?"

Her voice was a whisper and it stirred his heart. she still didn't believe! Yes, he'd agree that she was more confident that before but she was trying so hard to get addicted to the darkness that surrounded her.

"Of course Geet! Stop thinking stupid. Once we are done with the surgery, we will take a long vacation home." He tried to cheer her up and she smiled weakly, nodding her head. She was low, he knew.

"You know what, am in a very good mood right now. Do you think lunch can wait?" he teased.

"huhh...what??" she asked, totally clueless, "what are you saying?"

"I am saying..." he picked her up in his arms, "that since we had pastries on the way back home, we can have a late lunch today."

Realization dawned upon her and she turned crimson for no apparent reason, "Put me down, you devil! Let me go."

She wriggled in his arms making him laugh.

"I think, your accident has actually put me in an advantage here. You see, I can do anything to you as I want and you can't slip away."

He rolled her on the bed and fell on her, tossing his shirt away. She gasped feeling his bare skin on her and her eyes widened, realizing he was serious.

"No. Maan.. Don't!" she warned him, trying to move away, "what's wrong with you all of a sudden?"

He held her hand and pulled her close. Slipping his hands under her kurti, he pushed it away over her head, "Just taking revenge for last night!"

"Last night?" she gasped.

"yeah, you didn't let me then. So I must take revenge now!"

She had that vivid memory of him reading out her surgery procedure to him and how she had teased, distracting him and then sleeping off.

"th...this is not a way to take revenge!!" she writhed under him, her heart beats rising, running in wild.

"didn't I tell you I am in this awesome mood today after hearing about bro and bhabhi? So, we must find a way to celebrate here!"

"this is no way..."

He pressed his mouth on hers, shutting her up conveniently. Taking her lips into his mouth, he forced her open and entered her with a fierce heat. He kissed her so hard that she couldn't even moan out the pleasure. Her arms engulfed him, sighing in pleasure with the touch of their bodies, skin to skin. He explored her with his mouth and fingers thrummed on her half bare body and when he realized her arousal, he broke apart and pulled away. She groaned, raising her hands up to reach him, "get back here."

He wiped his lips and pulled on his shirt. Leaning on her, he whispered in her ear,

"I am hungry. Let's get lunch."

she remained stunned for a while and then frowned, cursing him for leaving her high and dry, "You are as cold as ice, do you know that, you brute!!"

he walked towards the door, laughing, "You, my dear jasmine, are as hot as the fire!"

She stood by the balcony, feeling the calmness of this particular night"the night of the infinite stars, she named it. She was still drawn to the night sky like always and even tonight, she couldn't resist the charm. And so, ditching their conjugal bed, she was out in the open, breathing in the faint scent of the jasmines that decorated their bed. She knew it was Maan's idea of making her feel special. There was no fancy decoration. No dim lights. No scented candles. No heart shaped balloons or red petals shaped as heart on the bed or any other colour for that matter. Just jasmines! Just plain white jasmines. She smiled. he didn't need to make her feel special with anything for she knew she was more than special to him in any given way! She glanced at the direction of her balcony with her room plunged in darkness. That is where she used to watch him from, hiding behind those curtains. She placed her hand on the top of the baluster and warmth spread on her skin. This is where he used to stand and watch her. This is where she will be standing now, with him.

Firm hands hugged her from the back and she smiled, leaning back in his embrace. He was still suited up for the reception party and she was still donned in that heavy sari and jewelleries. But nothing stopped them from feeling that warm fuzzy feeling seeping into their skins. They remained still in that position and just let the moment of togetherness sink in. Softly and very softly, he pressed a kiss on her temple.

"Finally, I have you, with me."

She smiled, "You have always had me with you Maan."

He turned her around holding her shoulders and looked at her carefully. She looked so calm, so poised like still water that he was almost scared that he would create ripples in her, snatching away her peace. But then, he knew that still water ran deep and he could just happily drown in her love.

"This night is yours Jasmine... beautiful like you, which calms my chaotic soul and sets me in peace."

Her eyes twinkled like the stars that night, "yes, it is my night. My night of the infinite stars! And you are my infinite stars."

"Did you name it?" he asked, amused to which she nodded.

The way she claimed her rights, he knew she was fire and she would burn him. What paradoxical thoughts he had tonight! He tipped her chin and claimed her mouth like she claimed her rights. There was no urging; no seeking permission or granting rights; no induction required. He claimed her just as she claimed him. soft supple lips pressed against the thin cold ones, fusing like two hot molten metals. His hands raced up and down on her back, learning the texture of her skin and she was indeed soft, like the jasmines strewn on the bed. He backed her up against the wall, beside the door of the balcony and nipped her lips, ecstatic and vigorous like a child who has just been granted his first wish. she was but jagged breaths and sighs as she pushed away his suit and worked her nimble fingers against the buttons of his shirt. They knew what the night held and they longed for it. but he couldn't wait to have all of her. he held her hands and pinned it against the wall, above her head. Holding her hands still, he tore apart his lips and glided down the warm skin of her neck and sucked on it till he drew his name from her lips.

He left her hands to do away with her sari and sighed in annoyance on encountering her jewelries. Perhaps, she was not happy with them too. Before he reached out, she quickly unhooked her necklace and pulled it out of her. he smiled, unpinning her sari from her shoulder and took the heavy necklace on the table. By that time, she had done away with her earring and pulled away her bangles too, leaving a few. He watched her in love and lust; her lips swollen; her lipstick smudged; the swiftness in her acts; her eyes as dark and desirous as his and her chest moving in a fast rhythm! This woman, right in front of his held all the powers on him. she looked at him, with bold eyes when she was done with her jewelries and they were back there again, where they had stopped.

"Ahh..." she gave him a pleasurable moan when he pulled away her sari and dipped his head in the valley of her curves. His warm breath did something to her skin and her tummy somersaulted. And in no time, he had bared her, pulling and tugging at anything and everything he could lay his hands on. He stopped and took two steps back and watched her nudity unfurl slowly. She was more than beautiful, she had those perfectly rounded and soft breasts that he could dream of, the smooth expanse of her belly, the rounded thighs and those sexy legs..all bare to his eyes. He just kept staring at her and she blushed profusely. What amused him the most was she didn't hide away from him; rather, she flaunted her arousal! Quivering lips, erect pink buds and crossed legs gave away the tell-tale signs of her wanton self. That was his Geet! Raw and Serene at the same time.

"You, Geet, own me like a goddess."

In a single stride, he crossed the distance and lifted her off the ground and placed her on the bed. His action screaming such gentleness that she felt she was a baby. He sat on the bed, in front of her and took off the shirt dangling against his shoulders. She sprang off the bed and beat him to that. She worked her way to his pants and pushed them off. the straightforwardness in her act were so lascivious yet so gentle that he burned in the effect. Holding her cheek between her fingers he leaned on her and peered into her eyes. Time stood still for a few seconds as their eyes met and life came to a halt. it felt ages to them when they resurfaced from the bottomless ocean and fell on the bed, together.

She clawed him and screamed and bit his lips in response to his actions and when she felt his mouth on her mounds, she burned. He was fire. He was fire in all its glory and she liquefied under his heat. His arousal pressed on her tummy, making her brain crop up thousands of erotic images of her husband, doing wonders to her. his fingers treaded down below and all she could do was clutch his hair tight and buck in response.

"Maan... yes.." she let him know that she loved what he did to her and fell apart in his arms, like beads of pearls broken from their string. When she caught her breath, she found his fiery hot lips kiss her pulse point on her neck and his hands fondling her breasts oh-so salaciously. She felt highly lustful and hot. She grabbed fistfuls of his hair and pulled him up to face him. she wanted to tell him something... tell him what he meant to her, like he always did.

He looked deep into her eyes, with so much love that she felt she'd just fuse into him if he looked at her like that a moment more. They just remained so for a second when she ran her index finger down his cheeks to tug at his lips.

"Some say that the world will end in fire; Some say in ice; From what I've tasted of desire, I hold with those who favour fire." She whispered.

His eyes softened at the new way she let out her emotions, climbing another step to reach his soul. The fragrance of the jasmines still remained suspended in the air. He closed his eyes and let the feel sink in, the scent of her... the scent of his jasmine! And when he opened them, she saw tears..a thin film of water, glistening in light.

"Maan..." she called him softly, momentarily scared to see him so overwhelmed.

"... but if I had to perish twice; I think I know enough of hate; to say that for destruction, ice is also great." He completed her words and placed her hand that trailed his face on his heart. she gulped down that lump in her throat. He was still haunted. He hadn't healed completely yet. But she was here, with him right! She would heal him.

"but it wouldn't suffice." She claimed and pulled him into a kiss so sensual and so earth shattering that he felt he'd explode just with that. How could she just take every bit of his being in her palms and convert it into something so beautiful? She deserved much more than what she had now. She deserved her night with infinite stars. He tugged at her thigh and pushed her legs apart, preparing for intrusion. he groaned at the way her body readied itself for him.

"Open up for me, Love..."he spoke into the kiss.

"ohh..." she held her breath feeling his steely presence at her entrance.

"hold me." he commanded.

Her core did amazingly wet things down below as she followed his lead and wrapped her legs around him. he drove in, softly at first and when adjusted, he pushed in, breaking the final barrier that separated them. she whimpered in pain and he stilled, letting it pass. And when it did, she wrapped her arms around his shoulder. He tried to move but she held tighter.

"No, Stay!" she spoke breathlessly. And so he stilled. She did too. And once again, time halted for them, second time in a single night, to let them savor this ethereal feeling of union. The profoundness of the moment weighed heavy on their hearts that they almost wept! She opened her eyes to meet his dark orbs, giving him a weak smile. That was her signal. And he moved. He pulled apart and she cried in reflex of the lost feel. And then he was back in her, filling her with sensations and emotions with a force a thousand times stronger than she had felt before.

She didn't realize what happened after that because she saw stars... her infinite stars behind those closed eyes. A smile tugged on her lips and she shattered and fell, tumbling down and this time, he was tumbling down with her too, holding her hand.

Awesome update...
Geet endured all the physical pain she was getting from the needles nd all silently just becoz she knew maan would feel her pain much more than she did...
But how can maan not see her pain but still ne couldn't do much becoz the tests were really necessary for her to het better...
Maaneet were so happy on hearing about dev and priya being blessed with a baby boy...
And I just hope that geet is able to get her sight back soon...
