CHAPTER 34

Location: KHURANA HOSPITALS, Delhi
Maan with ACP Ranvijay Singh's help rushed Geet to the hospital. As police jeep was with the ambulance, the streets cleared fast, and the ambulance sped towards Khurana Hospitals. Ambulance reached Khurana Hospital to find Dr. Padmaja Ranganathan waiting for Geet with her whole team and she immediately started treating Geet, by rushing her to Operation Theater (OT). Maan was rushed to Accident and Emergency, but Maan was refusing to let anyone treat him as he wanted to wait outside OT. Finally head of hospital Dr. Balaji Ranganathan came. Dr. Balaji threatened Maan that he will tell Ranjit and Sumitra about Geet and his attack by Rahul, if Maan doesn't let Emergency Room Doctors treat Maan. Hearing Dr. Balaji's threat Maan quietened.
Location: KHURANA MANSION,12:30a.m.
It was around eight hours since Maan and Geet had gone to the hospital for Geet's checkup and still not returned. The family was now sure that they had been abducted as told by Maan's body gaurds. As no one had still called for ransom, Khurana family was getting worried and didn't know whom to call. RK had already informed the police. RK turned on the TV to listen to the news when his mother, brother, sister-in-law and wife had left the family room. Yash and Vicky were trying to call their friends, family and business associates, if they had any news of Maan and Geet. RK was surfing News channels when suddenly his hand stopped at one channel. RK, Yash and Vicky were stunned by what they heard,
"BREAKING NEWS!! WE ARE REPORTING LIVE FROM GURGAON, OUTSKIRTS OF DELHI. Today Ms. Naintara Rathore was killed along with her long time boyfriend, Dev Khosla and their leader of the gang Mr. Rahul Chopra at a barn near Gurgaon. Mr. Dev Khosla is younger brother of Raghav Khosla who was arrested few years back with Ms. Devyani Rathore. Ms. Devyani Rathore happens to be cousin sister of Ms. Naintara Rathore. We were also informed that MR. & MRS. MAAN SINGH KHURANA had been kidnapped by Ms. Naintara Rathore and Brij. However few hours back, Major Rudra Pratap Singh along with help of ACP Ranvijay Singh in an combined operation gunned down Ms. Naintara Rathore and Mr. Rahul Chopra and thereby rescuing Mr. & Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana. Along with them Mr. Brijeshwar Handa (Brij) and Mr. Dev Khosla were also was gunned down by Mr. Rahul Chopra due some personal enemity. Brij was shot while he was trying to get away with a consignment of illegal foreign arms & ammuniations! Brij was well known hardened criminal from town of Hoshiyarpur. Dev Khosla was shot while he was trying to betray Rahul Chopra. During the encounter between Army, Police and Rahul Chopra, Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana also got shot and Mr. Maan Singh Khurana got injured. Both Mr. and Mrs. Khurana were rushed to the hospital and are undergoing treatment. As Mrs. Khurana was 7months pregnant they are desperately trying to save mother and the unborn baby. Mr. & Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana were kidnapped for personal venedetta of Ms. Naintara Rathore, Mr. Dev Khosla and Mr. Rahul Chopra. Mr. Rahul Chopra was a mastermind of their gang he was a terrorist and a wanted criminal by the Interpol. Ms. Naintara Rathore was the main person excuting the plan whereas Mr. Dev Khosla and Brij assisted Rahul in their mission. Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana was also an undercover officer with the army before her marriage. We hope and pray for Mr. & Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana's quick and speedy recovery!
So we are sure you all want to know, WHO IS THE NEW MRS. MAAN SINGH KHURANA? As the first Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana had expired five and a half year back. We are still not aware off who the new Maan Singh Khurana is and will tell you, once we know! That's all from Devina Dutt and cameraman Raghuveer Kochar!"
RK was sitting stunned. Vicky and Yash shook him but he didn't move. Then they started saying,"Chacha!" "Dad!" "Chacha!" "Dad!" But still there was no response just then Sadhana walked in and Yash went to her and narrated what he had heard on TV. While Vicky was still trying to make RK come out of his frozen state. Sadhana sat next to RK and held his one hand in both of hers and said,"Suniye, patta nahi humari Gudiya ke bhagya mei itne dukh aur pareshaniyaan kyon hain? Aapne Geet ko apni beti maana hai. Chaliye abb uska sahara bante hain!" (Listen, I don't know what more fate has in store for our Gudiya? Why does she have to suffer so much? We have made her our daughter, come we will give her support in this trying time.)
"Sadhana, tum sach keh rahi ho ki patta nahi humari beti ko itna dukh kyun mila raha hai? Humne uska "kanyadaan" toh kar diya magar ek maap-baap ka farz poora nahi kar paaye! Chalo Sadhana, humari beti ko humari zarurat hai!" (Sadhana you are right, I don't know why our daughter has to suffer so much? Although we did her "kanyadaan" but could not fulfill resposibilities of true parents! Come Sadhana, our daughter needs us!)
RK, Sadhana and Yash left for hospital. Vicky wanted to accompany them but someone had to stay with Savitri Devi, Ranjit and Sumitra. On reaching the reception before RK could ask about Maan and Geet's room Matron who was there for her rounds guided them. She said, "Sir, Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana is in OT as Dr. Ranganathan is doing Ceserean section for delivering the baby."
"Delivery? Ceserean section?? But Geet has only completed seven months?"
"Yes Mrs. Khurana. But as Geet has to undergo another surgery for removal of bullet, Dr. Ranganathan cannot risk the unborn child's life."
"BULLET??" Matron nodded.
"How is Maan?" RK asked.
"Mr. Maan Singh Khurana was also hurt with bruises and cuts. It looked as if he was tied by ropes, but they are superficial and will heal very fast. We have given him sedatives as he was becoming aggressive and refusing to relax."
Just then OT door opened and two nurses walked out carrying two bundles, "Mr. & Mrs. Khurana, Congratulations! You have become grandparents. Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana has delivered two baby boys." Handing one child to each of them.
For few seconds RK and Sadhana were too stunned to react till Yash shook them and said, "Mom and Dad I want to see my nephews." Before Yash could hold them, Matron said, "I'm sorry! As the twins are premature, we will have to take them to Neonatal ICU." Both the nurses left carrying the babies.
RK, Sadhana and Yash went where Maan was resting. They came out quitely so that Maan is not disturbed and were met by Savitri Devi, Ranjit, Sumitra and Vicky. RK questioned Vicky, "Chacha, I could not hold them back any longer as they were getting very restless and tense at home."
"Maa, Bhaiya, Bhabhi aur Vicky, aap sabke liye khush khabari hai ki aap Par-dadi, Dada, Dadi aur Chacha bann gaye hain! Geet ne judwa ladkon ko janam diya hai!!" (Maa, Bhaiya, Bhabhi and Vicky, there is a good news, you all have become great grandmother, grandfather, grandmother and uncle. Geet has delivered twin boys!) Sadhana said with joyful tears in her eyes.
"KYA?" (WHAT?) After the shock subsided there was immense happiness on everyone's faces with lots of hugs, tears and congratulations.
Just then tense Dr. Ranganathan came. "How is Geet, Doctor?" Sumitra asked.
"Not too good! She needs lot of love and care by her family this time."
"Yes we all understand." Savitri Devi said.
"It is not so simple!" Everyone looked in Dr. Ranganathan's direction confused. "The bullet which hurt Geet while protecting Maan went very near her fallopian tube, hence GEET CAN NEVER BECOME A MOTHER AGAIN!"
TWO HOURS LATER
Doctor Supriya Goyal who was operating Geet to remove her bullet, came out of OT and said to the gathered family, "I have a good news and a worrying news. Good news is that we have successfully removed the bullet from Geet's body. But the worrying news is that Geet is still unconscious despite of not having given her any anaesthesia. I hope she regains her consciousness soon otherwise it can be serious."
"Serious meaning?"
"She could slip into coma!"
"NAHI! YEH NAHI HO SAKTA!"
