CHAPTER 11
ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS (if any resemblance to persons & places is purely coincidental). Location: KHURANA MANSION (KM)
Next morning as Rajveer was going late to work, Anjali reported in KM at 08:00am. Anjali and Lieutenant Dheer were standing on gaurd outside the dinning area as Rajveer was inside when Maan walked by.
Seeing both standing there he was surprised but before he could question their presence, Dadimaa came and said, "Arre Anjali aur Dheer beta andar chaliye aur humare saath naashta kariye!"
"Pranam Dadimaa!" Anjali and Dheer bent and touched her feet.
"Ma'am hum Major sahaab ka intezaar kar rahe hain. Aap chaliye hum aate hain!"
"Magar..."
"Maa, aap aur Maan naashte ke liye aaye! Anjali aur Dheer baad mei nashta kar lenge!" Sumitra came and whisked her mother-in-law and son inside.
After twenty minutes, Major Rudra Pratap arrived with two new freshly joined Lieutenants. First time since joining Army, Anjali was nervous to face Major Rudra her Commanding Officer. They were guided to Rajveer's study and the two young Lieutenants stood on gaurd.
Meanwhile in the dinning room,Maan was unable to hold his curiosity and said, "Mujhe lagaa ki aap sabne mujhe maaf kar diya magar shaayad mai galat thaa!" (I felt that you all have forgiven me, but I think I was wrong!)
"Tum aisa kyun keh rahe ho, beta?" (Why are you saying this Maan)
"Kyunki aap log mujhe Anjali aur Dheer ki sacchaiyi kyun nahi batta rahe?"(Because you are not telling me the truth about Anjali and Dheer.)
Seeing no other way, Savitri Devi and Sumitra narrated the whole importance on Rajveer's security.
"Iska matlab hai ki Mrs. Swarnanjali Singh ek Army Officer hai?"
"Uska naam hai Captain (Mrs.) Swarnanjali Singh!"
Maan unable to control himself and got up to go and meet "his sweetheart" or "Priyasi", Swarnanjali.
"Maan aap kahaan jaa rahe hain unki ek zaruri meeting chal rahi hai!"
Paying no heed to his grandmother and mother, Maan rushed outside Rajveer's study where the meeting was going on and and the two Lieutenants standing on gaurd refused to let him enter. However it was MSK's home and he knew all secret entrances and trapped doors. Soon he was inside an alcove in Rajveer's study where he could see everyone but they could not see him. This was the same place he use to hide as a child when his father was very busy!
Location : Inside Rajveer Khurana's study in KM
"Captain Anjali, why did you blow your undercover and sabotage the mission?"
"Sir, I'm forced to disagree with your perception as I never gave away my true identity!"
"Then what was your reason to attack a female civilian?"
"Sir she was being disrespectful to my husband!"
"Captain, you were trained NOT to let your personal feelings, emotions and prejudices come in the way of your mission. Your mission was only to see to the physical safety of Dr. Khurana nothing else."
Anjali looked down ashamed. "Your this brashness can get you "Court-Marshall"!"
"But Sir..."
"Lieutenant Dheer by cross questioning your Senior Officer's orders you can also get "Court-Marshalled" as well!"
"Captain Swarnanjali Singh, you are longer on this mission please return to Army Base Camp as soon as possible. MEETING DISMISSED!
"YES SIR!" Both Anjali and Dheer saluted Rudra and left.
Maan heard everything from his hiding place and was extremely disappointed that Anjali is leaving. Without wasting time he went where his family was having after breakfast tea or coffee!
"Dadimaa, Dad, Mom, Anjali is going back to Army Base, please stop her!"
"Why? Why are you so interested in Captain Anjali? She was just an uncover officer doing her job! Now her job here is over she is leaving."
"But I like her!"
"Maan stop behaving like a child whose toy has been snatched from him. Besides even if we ask her to stay back by what right? She is married so she has a duty towards her husband and in laws. And you are also married which you have conveniently forgotten." Rajveer spoke sternly to Maan.
"But Dad, I LOVE SWARNANJALI!"
"Just like you loved Sameera Rastogi!!! For you only your pride, ego and Khurana wealth was important which you got, but we lost our most precious daughter, Geet."
Rajveer's barb pierced Maan's heart like an arrow.
"Dad, please forgive me. I never wanted to hurt Geet but you all didn't let me meet her before our marriage! I'm truly repenting for my action each and every day!" Maan said with folded hands falling on his knees
"Alright, if you prove to us that you truly love Captain Swarnanjali, we will talk to Major Rudra."
"Major Rudra?"
"He is Captain Swarnanjali's brother. But before we talk to Rudra, first find out what are Anjali feelings on this matter?"
