I remember reading this story where Geet is physically abused (beaten) by her cousins Brij, aunt etc. She's considered to be a burden, I think they're her only family. Maan has his own miseries, he blames himself for Dev's death, his much younger brother who died in a fire. Maan visits Hosyarpur and there he meets, seeing her suffering he thinks her as his redemption, a way of lessening his guilt of not being able to free Dev. Eventually both fall in love.
There's a scene where Geet comes late night to his hotel room, I think and helps him with a wound. Not exactly sure
