CHAPTER 16
Geet left the lounge and rushed to the washroom. She washed her face and then tidied herself. Geet was on her way out when she saw Vicky, she requested him to arrange a taxi for her as she wants to go home. Pinky was preoccupied with her two favourite pass time - Adi and food. Vicky first tried convincing her to wait and have dinner. Then he will personally drop her but Geet refused to stay any longer. Finally seeing no way out he asked their most trusted driver Ramlal to drop Geet at Pinky's home. Vicky was aware of Geet's importance in their family i.e. Geet was his future bhabhi. He had liked Geet as soon as he met her but did not have any romantic feelings for her! He also noticed the way Geet's eyes would glow whenever his Maan bhai was near Geet! The guests had already started leaving after having dinner! Hence, Geet left in Khurana's limousine for home. Geet reached home and Ramlal called Vicky. Geet changed got ready for bed but tears which she was holding back since Maan's show down could no longer be kept in check. Hence, Geet cried herself to sleep. Next day was Saturday and she was expected at work!
She woke up next morning to a pleasant surprise, Mili had returned from her tour and was making breakfast.
"Abhi thodi der pehle! Socha nashta banna kar tum dono ko surprise karoon! Pinky kahaan hai?" (Just a little while back. I thought will surprise you and Pinky by making breakfast. Where is Pinky?)
"Arre didi, woh toh abhi der tak soyegi. Kal meri bahen Meera ka reception tha toh der se aayi hogi." (Didi, she will sleep in as yesterday was my sister's wedding reception and she returned late!)
"Aur tum jaldi bhaag aai hogi bina khaana khaaye!"(You would have returned early without having dinner!)
"Didi, aap ko..." (How did you...)
"Mai apni sharmili behan ko jaanti hoon. Accha kaheen internship lagi?" (I know my shy sister well! Where are you doing your internship?)
"Haan didi! Singhania Constructions mei!" (In Singhania Constructions!)
"Singhania Constructions! Singhania Constructions! Sing...hani...Const...ructions!" Mili was about to faint.
Geet quickly caught her and sprinkled water on her face. "Aap beithiye, nashta mai bannati hoon. App abhi safar se aayi hain thak gayi hongi!" (You sit as you must be tired after travelling! I'll make the breakfast!)
Geet quickly made breakfast and both of them had it. Geet made Mili go to her room and rest. When Geet was leaving for work by that time Pinky woke up. Geet told her about Mili's poor health! Pinky had holiday so she said she will keep a watch.
"Sir how do you know this lady?"
"She is my wife, Shaamli! Why?"
"Where is she now?"
"We had a fight and she walked out on me and since then she is missing!"Rishi said with extreme pain and sadness.
"If I say I know where she is?"
"WHAT?" Rishi and Maan exclaimed together. Rishi got up to go and get his love, Shaamli back.
"Wait Sir! I think you should know the truth about her first. I found Mili didi or Shaamli as you call her on the river bank of Yamuna river in a wounded condition. It looked like someone attacked her and then threw her in the river. Maybe one of your rivals! I had found her and wanted to inform the Police but as I was not 18yrs. at that time plus I feared her physical safety. Anyway, Pinky and I took her to a nearby nursing home and they treated her and as there was no indication of foul play i.e. murder, rape etc. the nursing home also did not lodge a complaint! However, there is one problem discovered and that was she is suffering from "partial amnesia". She remembers her name, educational qualification but she doesn't remember her marriage or her husband! She also doesn't remember who attacked and pushed her in the river?"
"What you are trying to say is that my love doesn't remember me! God is testing me, first I get my paternal family after 21yrs., but I can't call them mine. Now I get my love, my wife back after 3years who doesn't remember me!" Rishi said dejectedly.
"Rishi Sir, don't loose hope! I don't think she has forgotten you completely because when I mentioned that I work in Singhania Constructions, she reacted. Maybe if you meet her as a stranger not as her husband and try to make her fall in love with you again?"
"How? She is working in..."
"Khurana Constructions! Mr. Khurana can help you!"
"Which department?" Maan enquired.
"She is assistant Architect, Mrs. Mili Kumar!"
"Mrs. Kumar??" Rishi asked getting extremely angry.
"Rishi Sir! She had forgotten your name. She was wearing a mangalsutra so was married hence "Mrs." We wanted a common middle name, hence "Kumar"!" Geet said calming Rishi.
"Ms. Handa, you are overlooking, how will they meet?" Maan made a logical statement.
"Singhanias and Khuranas are doing a joint venture, Mili Didi can represent KC's Architectural department. I think KC has better architects than Ms. Sasha!" Touching Maan's raw nerve rising his infamous temper!
"What do you know about KC to make a judgemental statement. Are you peeved because KC did not call you for your interview?" Maan smirked
"Mr. Khurana, I was called by KC for interview but their call came late. I had already started working for SC by then! Rishi Sir, can I leave early today as I have an assignment due on Monday?" Geet said before Maan and her fight would accelerate.

Geet called the peon and politely requested, "Bhola Kaka, paas mei jo anathale (orphanage) hai, usmei yeh sab phool daan kar aaye! Dhaniyavaad!" (Bhola, please send these flowers to orphage near by! Thank you!) She removed the cards attached on the baskets and threw them in dustbin. This scene was witnessed by Rishi and Maan. Rishi murmured,"You have really upset Gudiya big time! Best of luck!" Rishi went to his room and Maan followed!
Rishi called Geet for taking notes along with chief architect of SC and KC, Adi and Mr. Subramanium. Geet noticed that for today's meeting, Sasha was not present! After the meeting was over, Rishi, Maan and Geet were in Rishi's cabin. Geet was collecting slides of presentation and blue prints. Rish took out his walket to give something to Maan when a photograph fell from Rishi's wallet.
