"Maan..." the walking tornado that she was, had ran into a table and cussed, while her eyes still searching for him.
With the empty mail staring back at him, with just the attachment of the wedding invitation, Maan found a loss of words he could say to his brother Dev.
The oncoming of the walking tornado screaming his name out made him feel just a tad bit better.
"Maan, I've been looking for you. What are you doing?" She said sitting on the loveseat, rubbing her knee where she hurt herself.
"I don't know, an alien concept like working maybe" he said only to have her take a surprised breath.
"Oh no, you didn't" she said raising her hand to her chest in absolute disbelief.
"You just didn't insult me of unemployment"
"I didn't" he grinned. "Since you're a student, but" he paused for great effect. "I did insult you for wasting your time in sashaying around and not studying"
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
When she opened her eyes back, she tried her damndest to look peaceful.
"Remind me once again, why I'm marrying you" she said.
"Because I am a delight?"
She snorted as a response and he cracked a smile, going back to his laptop, stared at it for three full minutes and gave up.
"I'm going to get some coffee for myself, do you want anything?"
"Hot chocolate" she grinned while taking an apple from the bowl next to the table and munching on it.
He shook his head at her and left.
"You didn't tell me what were you doing?" She asked when he was at the door.
"Trying to invite my brother to the wedding."
"But the mail body is empty"
"My creativity ends there." He said with a pause. "I attached our wedding card. That should do"
With that he left her alone.
She took the laptop and saw the lone attachment and the blinking cursor.
Although she knew he would kill her for this, she steeled her heart and took a deep breath before doing what she's about to do.
This is to invite you to my wedding on the 4th of next month. I would really like it if you could make it, along with your wife.I know the last time we met, there are words said callously which shouldn't have been said and weren't meant as well.
Come home.
Maan.
As she heard his footsteps just outside the door, she had put the laptop back at its place after clicking on the send button, and bolted up.
With a coffee cup and hot chocolate mug on either of his hands, Maan looked at her confused, when she was on her feet, playing with the edge of her veil, an old habit of hers when she was nervous.
"What--" he was about to start, but before that, she went to the door, extracted the hot chocolate mug from his hands, pressed a kiss on his cheek and waved him a bye, saying in a jumbled sentence that she got to study.
If she had heard her name being bellowed a full minute later when she was in the ground floor, and he finally figured what she has done, she didn't stop.
