Chapter 7
Maan brushed his hands through hair frustrated. MSK never convinced anyone anything. Then how come he confessed one of his secrets! He just wanted to show her who holds the upper hand. But when he saw her in that vulnerable stage, trying hard to be brave, his protective instincts kicked in. No woman has ever done that except his Mom and Aunt Annie. No! This is going way beyond his control. She is stirring some emotions that are locked deep inside his heart. He entered this game to prove no woman could resist him. Instead, it's backfiring on him. He can't allow it. From now onwards he is going to ignore her.
After changing into sleepwear, Geet sat on bed rewinding the events. She still can't believe he dint take advantage of her situation. And then his words.. it felt like he wanted to convince her of something. It was like seeing a different side of MSK. Did she misjudge him? Or is it his another ploy to win the game? His ignorance always hurt her so much in the past, but now his sudden attention is confusing her. Promising herself to find answers to these whirlwind questions, she fell into a dreamless sleep.
Glancing at the partition in her cabin, she saw Maan engrossed in work. When she arrived morning, it was to discover that MSK has arranged a new cabin for her. When she greeted him, he just gave a nod without noticing her way. That was so unlike Maan. She was sure he was ignoring her. But for what? Did he think she is so vulnerable to handle her clothes? She tried many times to talk with him, of course about the project, but he dint give any attention. What did he think of himself! One day he is oozing all his charm to annoy her and next day he is giving royal ignorance. This is so not going to happen. She won't allow him to treat her like that. It was like going back to past.
Before confronting him, she need need a coffee with lots of cream away from this stressful environment. The Antonio's coffee shop opposite the building is perfect. Clutching her jacket tightly, Geet left the building. Sudden flashlights blinded her from seeing anything and for a moment she felt dizzy. Someone was thrusting mic in front of her and firing questions. What the hell is happening!

Geet felt a lot better when the crowd around her fell silent. Opening her eyes slowly, she watched her intruders, paparazzis, who have right to peek into anyone's life other than theirs. Faintly she remembered the words of P. J. O'Rourke. Journalists are notoriously easy to kid. All you have to do is speak to a journalist in a very serious tone of voice, and he will be certain that you are either telling the truth or a big, important lie. Okay so she need that words because for the first time Geet Handa is going to confront these vultures. Adorning a serious expression she looked each of them in the eye.

Deep baritone voice caught the attention and they formed an arc around him. His bodyguards were trying to control them and from his tight smile Geet can assure that Maan's today's dish is definitely Geet Handa fries.
Maan admired the fact she controlled the paparazzi's tactfully. But for that she will throw him to vultures was not expected. MSK and cat! How ridiculous! Now they are going to stalk him to get the pic of his non existent cat. His arms wound around her shoulders and gave a tight little squeeze promising her his revenge. Her eyes glinted with mischief winked his way. He was sure that the reporters were clicking the pic of them together for their new story.

When the last of the reporters were ushered out of the building, he quickly slipped out his calm mask and left her.

Geet yelped in alarm when a bike swished past her like a tornado and then came back and slammed on brake just a few inches away from her.

Taking off the helmet, Geet was surprised to see the hottie was none other than her dear devil. Oh Gosh! He looked so cool, so hot like a meteor and so commanding like Alexander, the great. No wonder every woman including her drools him. Only if he was not so dickheaded!

Swearing softly, Maan dismounted his bike and straightened up.

Fearing the glint in his eyes, geet shut her mouth and locked the spare helmet securely around her head. She shuffled back without touching him, but the moment he released the brake, she launched herself at him, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.

He really knows how to handle a bike and she was fascinated to see how he elegantly wove in and out of traffic. She is also aware of how her chest is pressed against his muscular back. Feeling his fat-free stomach she had the sudden urge to run her hands all over his body. She felt safe feeling the warmth of his body.

Their eyes connected in rear view mirror and it felt like instant electricity passed between them. Sticking her tongue out like a small child she dismissed him.

The last sentence was a lot huskier. Suddenly Maan was a lot more near than imagined. How did she failed to see that he was wearing only boxer! Oh god! is he allergic to proper clothes? Why he is always roaming around this small piece. She has no idea how to handle a charming boxer devil.

Maan threw back his head and laughed. He choked his coffee which made her worried but then he was laughing uncontrollably.Half the world is dying to see him this way and this woman is seriously thinking about buying him boxers!!

His face was poker straight, but his eyes were laughing at her. After drinking the whole coffee, she stomped her foot and left the kitchen. Before she could enter the room, Maan hauled her to his chest and backed her to nearby wall. Geet inhaled and exhaled deeply not to affect his nearness.

Geet swallowed nervously staring his eyes. She shivered slightly when his hands run lightly up and down along the length of her arms. Never wear sleeveless geet when you are with Maan. She decided thoughtfully. She clutched her fist tightly so that unknown to her, it wont touch the naked chest of him. If there was a shawl she could have wrapped it around him. Mentally deciding to carry a shawl always she smiled at him relaxed.
See.. I am not nervous.
Oh great.. then tomorrow we are going to a special place. Just you and me. That wont be a problem, right?
