^^ See my excitement? There were about 20 more s's before IF started policing my excitement. This story is literally happiness in a screen.
I bet my right knee that Aditya and Maan are gonna turn out to be all pally and it's gonna infuriate Geet 😆
I loved that you used 'delicious' in that context. A few times in real life, I've used that word because it comes very naturally and fits perfectly and no other word does the feeling justice but no one really understands what I mean by it. My sister says I sound like a pervert 😆 I guess the best way I can describe that delicious feeling is when you feel real pleasure from something and it gives you a (I was going to say delicious here, lol) very excited, frisson-y feeling. And what I love about your use of it here was that Geet felt it because of Maan's smile. His pleasure was the reason for hers. Because the characters in this story are so grounded in reality, I often give no weight to the fact that they are
Geet and
Maan and I love that because I get to laugh, worry, swear and feel attraction alongside them without any preexisting idea that they are destined to be part of an epic romance of some kind. But this is the first time they have reminded me of the great, giving love of The Geet and Maan and honestly, it's quite touching because I felt it along with them and understood it myself, rather than passively watch it happen onscreen.
Well, laugh lines (and winks and shrieks) aside, I really like one defining trait of Maan: the way he is always so casual. Too many times, we - and the Maans we, and I especially, write - are so serious that it's frankly exhausting. In fact, our movies, books, TV and all lives are populated with people who need to see the funny, easygoing side, rather than those who show it to others. I'm so grateful that your Maan is in the latter category.
Wow. I think, after an incredibly long time, I am actually falling for a Maan (story-wise). I'm not interested in the romance of the character but his actual personality, especially his friendship, is what I genuinely find so heartwarming.
Thank you, V, for such an endearing and in the best way possible,
casual story. And yes, it did take my breath away when Maan murmured that he had Geet. (I imagine a nice but not crisp white cotton shirt).
