[Recap:The story moves 6 years back when Geet was only 17 and stayed with her mom.Her father had passed away when she was a toddler.Her mom ran a boutique.She was a bright student and had a bent for writing and also loved the English literature.But she was unhappy because nobody was there in her colony to praise her work.No one was there with the same passion and liking.]Part 6
After a lot of pleading,Geet got permission to go out with friends."Remember if you come home after 8 then I won't let you enter the house".Mrs.Handa warned.Geet replied,"Okay my dear mommy.Now am running late,bye".She hugged her and almost ran out of the house.
After almost 2 months all the buddies were meeting because they all had exams.Geet and her friends did all they used to do like they went to the park,sat there and chattered then had aloo chaat from there,a little later had golgappa and gave a finishing touch with barf ka gola.These girls had a simple and carefree life.
When the clock struck 7,all the girls said bye to each other and went homewards.Geet had to go alone as none of her friends stayed in her colony .She decided to take the shortcut.The road was a bit dark because there were only 4 lamp posts in that area.Geet was humming a latest bollywood song while walking.
Suddenly she felt that someone was following her.Panic surged within her.She started walking fast when someone called from behind,"Hello.Please stop I need to ask you something".Geet did not heed any attention and started running.She looked around frantically but no one was there to help her.The guy behind her was also running and was repeatedly saying something.But Geet did not pay attention to it.
The guy was fast enough and soon he was standing before Geet.She was terrified and tried to run but that guy said politely,"Please madam don't run away and don't misunderstand me.I am not going to harm you.Actually I have lost my way as I am new here".Geet was a bit relieved but still very much alert. Due to bad lighting Geet couldn't see him properly but he was tall. Geet finally asked,"What do you want to know?"
The guy asked,"Do you know where is Jalandar colony?" Geet replied indifferently,"I am going that way only". The guy said,"Oh.Even I am going there.Actually I have come today only and I went to the market.Then while coming back I forgot the way back so I asked a man and he showed me this shortcut but due to the awesome lighting I couldn't find my way.Then I saw you and thought of asking but..." Geet chuckled and replied,"Sorry.Please come".They started walking,after walking few minutes they reached their colony.
"Here we are".Geet announced and looked at him.Their colony had enough lighting. Geet finally saw his face.He was was tall and well built. He had a chiseled face with pointed nose and dark eyebrows. His eyes and hair were black.He was standing in front of Geet and smiling at her. Geet smiled back and started going when the guy asked,"Hey! may I know your name?" Geet replied,"Geet and yours?" He smiled and answered,"My name is Maan. Maan Singh Khurana."
