beautiful update...it can become an OS in itself...probably Johan could not have worked with her after her denial...but, Geet's gesture eased the tension and uneasiness built due to this and he calmly left carrying the portrait and her memory with him.

"I have some bad news. He's moved on and he hasn't told me where he is."

"You're lying. You're his brother, how can he not tell you where he's gone?"

"Like I've said before, you don't know Maan very well. No one does, apart from Geet."

Pari watched Dev's expression clearly, and then it dawned on her. "She knows where he is?"

"She always has. She knew he was coming here after her, she knew he would leave eventually and I can bet my life that she could find him right away, if she wanted to. But that's just the thing. She doesn't."

"Are you saying it's Geet's fault that Maan left her when she was pregnant? That she had to abort the child to save her families honour and pride? That the reason she left her life behind was because the memories of her past were a constant presence? I don't applaud Maan for realising his mistake and moving here to make amends, nor do I applaud him for jetting off again in a pathetic attempt to leave her in peace."

She sighed, raking a hand through her hair and leaning back into the chair. "I'm sorry. It's a lot to take in, I had no idea before about all of this..."

"I understand. It's natural to be upset and defensive. And your heart is in the right place, I just... I feel that they need to come face to face when they are both ready to deal with the pain of their past. If we push them together, Pari, it will drive them apart. That's the nature of their relationship. The baby tried to bind them together, Maan left. Your parents' demise tried to bind them together, Geet left. It's up to the game of destiny which has their hearts in its hand."

Geet sat with the wooden box in her lap, gently caressing a drawing. She glanced at the initials at the bottom and grimaced; a mixture of happiness and sadness illuminating her face.

MK. The initials she always used in every single work of art, regardless of whether it was displayed or not. Even the aimless doodles she indulged in to release stress bore his name at the bottom corner of the page. It had been an accustom, a habit of hers which her fingers could never shake off, despite the futile attempts of her heart.

She closed her eyes and reached for the phone beside her. Her hand trembled, her throat suddenly felt dry but she pushed all doubts aside and willed herself to dial the number she had memorised long ago.

"Hello?" came the voice from the other end. She paused, and she heard a sigh as an acknowledgement of her presence.

"It's me," she whispered, her hand reaching for the initials once more.

awesome part...
finally all the confusion and truth are coming up...
sad that geet had to abort child... eager to know why maan left geet at her pregnacy ...
aww... so her initials in the painting was MK aka Maan Khurana...
hope geet is calling maan :)
