"How is she?"

The first question Mohan asked when he returned back from office in evening. He was furious yet worried about hearing what Geet had done to herself. "How can she do this? I should've given her much liberty, it's all my mistake" His hurried legs started killing the distance toward her room. Every stairs going up found a loud stomp upon it. "Bhaiya why didn't you call the doctor?" Mohan knocked the door of her room but it was opened. Perhaps Geet had heard Mohan voice and unlocked it. Pushing the frame aside he stepped inside along with Jagan following him behind. They both felt pathetic in the dark room and her pale figure was laying insensible on the bed. Everything in room was unresponsive accompanying her state.

Mohan touched her forehead. Her fever had increased with lack of treatment. She didn't respond on his touch. She didn't move. She was paler. She was delicate. A father was having toughest time to see his pampered daughter laying so silent. Few dried tear marks on her cheeks were describing her remorse over her mistake.

"Geet.." Mohan whispered low, cautioning not to startle her. He massaged her hair softly hoping she will feel his touch if not responding against his voice. Geet awoke from her fatigue sleep. She looked Mohan. She tried to sit up but lack of energy didn't let her.

"Don't beta..keep laying" Mohan forbid her, signaled her to remain laying.

"I'm sorry baba" She whispered. Tears slipped out from the corner of her blurred eyes.

"No beta, don't say sorry. I should've understand you" he spoke and smiled still massaging her head.

"I should have understand that when I couldn't forget the incident in years how could you who was the sufferer of the event. I should've understand that like that time it was not your fault, you were a child only, how could it be now when everything had been decided by your destiny and what mistake you did, for not telling me, isn't so big that you should need to punish yourself till this extend" Mohan thought broke when Jagan brought medicines and juice for her. Without for further refusal she took everything. He made her sleep comfortably and later both left hoping for her soon recovery.

Later the day started to pass normal but her recovery was not as proceed as they had expected. She was still not improving much. Gradually any growth could be seen in her health. Office works were killing Mohan patience for day and he was getting maddening for not giving time to take care of his daughter properly. Jagan had though done enough what could have best from him. Panna visited daily and spent hours with her but something was missing in her remedy which was unknown. Geet refused to go hospital and doctor who'd visited home was not so sure why his medicines were not playing its role as had been expected. But somewhere Jagan knew what was lacking in her treatment. It was seventh day she'd not talked to Maan nor even talk about him. She was stopping her heart for the sake of her father and what promise he had taken from Maan. But how an already killed heart could beat properly to keep body in condition. She never said anything, did everything what others asked her to do, took medicine and mild food on time, did her entire effort to be well but when every inch energy would have enforced to control her essential wish how could anything be helped to get better survival. She was going helpless, weaker and thinner.

"Geet, do you want to talk to Maan?" Jagan asked sitting beside her, stirring sugar in her milk and handed over to her. Geet looked up to him amazed. Hearing Maan name after a week felt like had been hearing after years. It effected so soothing to her ears. Her eyes shone for a moment but then everything faded. She shook head in denial. She would not meet him. She could not. For some time, at least for some day more she shouldn't meet him. The last she had been informed his being in Mumbai for business related work. As per she knew him, he must be needing her, must be going insane without hearing her but his this exact insanity could have led him to sooner success. Her interference could've diverted his mind and his goal which was prior.

"No Chachu I'll be fine. You don't worry" She smiled. She drunk the milk and then laid down silently. She closed her eyes to hide heart wish from this world and slept.

"What happened Mohan why you're looking so drained?"

Jagan asked wishing to catch a small conversation with him about Geet regarding Maan but when found Mohan tired and fatigue more than every day he guessed something not so good must has happened in office. Jagan knew now a days office was not as peaceful as used to be before and environment was filled with rumors that company was going to be overtaken by another one. Everyone was worried about their job. He hadn't much information about the progress of this news due to being on leave since few days for taking care of Geet but now he afraid supposing this can be reason for Mohan's worry.

"Did any news come about who is going to take over?" He asked casually taking sip of tea from his cup. They were sitting in living room before TV on but none had their attention on screen.

"Yes, came" Mohan said. His voice appeared like there was very casual news he was going to announce. "You know bhaiya who'd bought our company? Who is our new boss", He took sip from hot tea and waited till the tea could warm his throat and then he proclaimed. "Mr. Maan Singh Khurana is our boss!!".

"What!!" Jagan was shocked to the core. He was speechless for a second thinking there must be some mistake in his hearing or his saying.

"What happened Bhiya, aren't you happy to know, who would rule over our lives from now"

"But how it can be possible... I mean.. " Jagan was lost of words when Mohan interrupted. "Oh I'm really insane Bhaiya, how can I be worried about the thing which is going to be seized very soon. We really don't need to think about this matter. There will not be any chance we would've to work under him!!"

"Mean? Mohan what are you saying. I didn't understand a thing"

Mohan laughed. Laughed like an insane but there was shake in his laugh. "The great Khurana is going to shut off all branches of his company which is located out of Mumbai. In few days be ready to find a new job for us both Bhaiya!!" suddenly he became silent. Dangerously silent. "I knew this will happen. I've told everyone, every time. I knew he will destroy everything. Each thing I have. The great Yash Singh Khurana will destroy everything. He will leave us moneyless, perhaps, lifeless too'' Mohan stood up like he was in some spell. He murmured loud "He will take my Geet away from me I know. I know what he is capable to do. You never heard me, even no one heard me but I know, our live will not be same ever. He will snatch my Geet way from me Bhaiya he will... "He left the room and went up to check on Geet hiding his tears of fear.

" but how can it be possible?" Jagan watched his brother leaving. "I'm sure Maan can't do this. I know his affection for Geet and this family is true. I think he doesn't know about us working here, in this office otherwise wouldn't have taken this decision which can increase his problem." He paced in room being so thoughtful. He was sure about his being innocent and he needed to talk. "I should meet him I'm sure he will hear me. He needs to know what trouble his decision can create in his own life along with us. I need to call him but without letting Mohan know'

He stole Maan number from Geet phone and called him and asked if they can meet. Maan said yes and given his apartment address fixing the time of after an hour.
