bobby di i came here after almost two weeks as i had net problem in my pc but i was spamming the thread regularly through my mobile so thanks ❤️ a lot to u and the other members who provided us with links and pics and information abt DD.

Geet fans are really the best. DD is lucky to have such fans . she deserved to win

Bobby 🤗...thank u for the awesome Salman interview...what all he said about Drashti was so sweet ...our princess is like that...she has a mesmerising effect on all the people around her...Salman and DD became such amazing friends...going to miss seeing both of them together so much 😭...wishing them all the best for their future projects👍🏼...may they always keep smiling 😊

Victory machine: Salman Yusuf Khan

2013 has been quite a lucky one for dancer turned actor Salman Yusuf Khan. After being launched with ABCD, he wins the reality show this season. Filmfare talks to the new Khan in B-town

Q. How has the journey been so far

It may sound clich but it feels like dream come true. It's quite surreal for me. I still feel it's a dream and please don't wake me as this is what I always wanted. I always wanted to be famous. And its not only being recognised but also being known to the industry. Initially I used to say that I know Shah Rukh Khan and my friends used to laugh at me and say does he know you?' but now tables have changed. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan do know me and it feels good. I feel short of words when I think of my journey and I have to say that I'm living my dream.

Q. Your next is Freedom, why such a different film from ABCD

I know one thing for sure and that I have it in me. I see the potential of as an actor in me and hence I'm a part of Freedom. ABCD happened because Remo sir (choereographer Remo D'Souza) while Freedom I bagged because of the audition I gave. I don't do anything unless I'm 200% sure about it. To be an actor and get my potential noticed, I auditioned for Freedom and I got the film. You will see me in a different light in the film because the character is so unlike me. Moreover there are 4 songs in the film which I have choreographed and one of them is a dance number.

Q. Will you do reality shows if doesn't involve dancing

__It depends on the concept of the show. If it excites me then I'm surely game in!

Q. So what are you looking for in films

As an actor I want to be versatile. I want to do all the genres right from comedy to action. There are no limits to it.

Q. You have been linked to Yana Gupta and Isha Sharvani as you have danced with them in a reality show. What you have to say about it?

I can only say that everybody is jealous. I have been lucky enough to do quality work with some beautiful women and only a fool would complaint.

Q. Did you face any identity crisis regarding your name

When I started off in this industry with the name of Salman Khan people told me to change my name, but I didn't want to. I was always called Salman and I wanted to have my own identity. Today people look at me and say hey dekho woh dance karney wala Salman, woh dekho reality show wala Salman'. So I have my own stand and respect earned.

Q. Your first autograph experience

It was during my first reality show. I had gone to Meerut for promotions and it was unbelievable. There was a crowd of 5000 and we had only 8 security guards. My heart came in my mouth and we had required more security. It was freaky for me. I have been stars struck in my life. And when I experienced this kind of love I was quite nervous.

Q. What are the changes you have faced

It's a gradual growth. Its getting better year by year. I believe slow and steady wins the race. A small instance of it is that I joined twitter 4 months back and I had 1000 followers and today I have some 16,000 plus followers. All thanks to my reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa

Q. Television or films

I prefer quality projects. No confining to a certain genre. When I did Jhalak Dikhlaja this year people said that why did I do TV after being in films. But I enjoy doing JDJ. But I can't do daily soaps. Its too strenuous and for me daily soaps are like 9 to 5 job, which I'm not comfortable with.

Q. Acting or dancing

Can't choose. I'm enjoying both the worlds right now!

You, the t2 reader, had long picked her as the winner! Last Saturday, television actress Drashti Dhami, better known as Madhubala in Madhubala " Ek Ishq Ek Junoon(Colors), danced away with the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, along with her choreographer-partner Salman Khan. A t2 chat...

You were a favourite to win and yet when your name was announced by judges Karan Johar and Remo D'Souza [Madhuri Dixit was absent as her father had passed away the day before], you looked very shocked...
I was shocked! I knew I had been a consistent performer throughout and that my fans had been very consistent in voting for me, but you never know with these things. With audience votes involved, anything can happen at the last minute. In fact, the feeling hasn't sunk in even now. I slept through the whole of Sunday and I am still in a zombie state of mind (laughs).
What was the winning moment like?
I don't remember the moment at all! I was in a strange zone when the results were being announced... I was so dazed. Even the first 30 seconds... one minute... after my name was announced, I couldn't react at all. Only when I got the trophy in my hand could I think: Okay, this is for real.'
But wasn't there any point of time in the show when you thought that maybe you could go the whole way?
I was confident that I had put in a lot of hard work and I have been brought up to believe that hard work always pays. But there was always this small doubt at the back of my mind whether I would make it or not till the very end.
Looking back, what do you think worked for you?
It would be my fans who supported me throughout. They encouraged me to better myself with every act. Also, I am a very hard-working person and I have had bruised knees, scraped elbows and a dislocated shoulder on the show. And, of course, Salman and his choreography, and the brilliant concepts he came up with week after week really worked for me.
On the show, Karan Johar's pick of your best moment on Jhalak was when you danced to Humko aajkal (Sailaab). What would you pick as your most memorable moment on the show?
It would be all the bits, actually. Everything about Jhalak has been very memorable, right from the first episode to the rehearsals to not getting the steps right to making some awesome friends on the show. The judges... the stage... everything about Jhalak was special.
From Lauren Gottlieb to Shaan to the kids Sonali and Sumanth, your competition in the finals was very tough...
Very, very tough! Everyone was equally good, but I think it was the non-dancers like me who showed a massive growth. That's why if I had to pick someone else besides me as the winner, it would be Shaan because he isn't a trained dancer, but Lauren and the kids are. It was tougher for me and Shaan to learn the steps than it was for the others.
How was Salman as a choreographer-partner?
He was very patient with me. He's known to lose his temper easily, but with me he never did because he knew I would come into the rehearsals after shooting for Madhubala for 12 hours. We made a good pair.
How strenuous was it to juggle Jhalak with the shoot of a daily soap like Madhubala?
I think God gave me some magical powers to pull through all these months. I really don't know how I managed it but it was very, very hectic. In the last four months, I got only two off-days! I worked for 20 hours every single day. But I guess it's just my love and passion for dance that helped me cope.
Do you plan to take up dance seriously?
I would love to. But I don't know how much time I can give to dance. I would genuinely like to make it a career.
Finally, how do you plan to reward yourself?
I want to take a break for three-four days and go somewhere and relax. Hope I can do it soon.
