He won't stop caring for her and she is hating it because she does not want to appear weak now that she feels he has moved on. Both stubborn and willful and right in their own way.

There is a symbolism in the secret door here for me. There are so many secrets in the dark, some which may hurt but some which may rescue. They can only make the trip together to find out.

I am not sure if you meant it that way but hey, that's the way I am 😆😆
