The Downpour... Part 16

With sudden touch of hairs on back, Geet bewailed. She was pouring warm milk in cup when again and again her hair was coming to her face. She was getting disturbed, tried to remove by help of moving face and shoulder but some curls were playing so naughty. Maan was enjoying her misery, standing with crossed arms. He was smiling..

Irritatingly she raised hand to tie it when Maan stopped her.

"One min Geet'

He came closer and stopped in her back. Geet was thinking why he had stop her when suddenly, she felt his finger started stroking her neck. She shudders with his sudden contact when found; he mildly got clutch of entire bunch of her hairs and shifted on one side of shoulder. She waited him to leave her now but Maan was still holding it, pausing it to fall on her face.

"Now it will not annoy you'. He whispered in her ear. She bowed down her face.

His finger was rubbing hair steadily. Not to let her feel his act.

Somehow Geet forced herself to continue her work. She turned back and advanced cup to him. Maan left her hair and took it, feeling lack of his self-control. He moved back to hall giving his heart, time to come back in normal pace.

They became settle in their respective chairs.

"Maan you did not tell me. Why did you have come?''

He stopped his sip and looked her. This time the radiant eagerness of her face pressured him to think for suitable reply. He kept cup on table.

"Geet I wanted to know reason of your strange behavior since the time we have met. The first day you came in office but without meeting me, you run away. I knew it was you. Next day also I had seen fear on your face and even same happened today. I had been dying in thought as why you feared me like this when I don't even know you and''

"You know me !!'

Geet would not let him complete. She interrupted.

"We have already met before Maan'

Maan raised his eye-brows in confusion and surprise.

"But when?''

Geet narrated their first meeting when they had met on road. (Geet was crossing road running and in hurry she bumped into Maan. Maan shouted on her and threatened)

"But I don't remember this incident Geet'' He pressured on mind but still could not remember.

"Is that only reason of your fear??' He was shocked.

She shook head. "No but afterward what happened that was the reason I started hating you''

Maan did not like the word that she hated him!! He clutched chair hand in anger to control his displeasure of heart.

"What happened next?'

Geet sensed urgency of his voice. There was sudden transformation in it.

"Uske baad I started receiving menace messages from your name. It was so scary. Every day I had been spending in fear of your next move!! I started living in fear of you. My dreams had become nightmare because I used to see it Maan. I could not share to my family even. My life had become hell Maan I was so scared!!!!

Her voice cracked like she was experiencing those moments, again. But Maan was in another world. He was forcing his mind to get any clue of what she was saying!!

"And then I saw you started following me everywhere!!!'

"What!!!' It was the last blow of shock, touched him sharply and took away his patience with it. "It's not true!! It can't be!!!'

He almost shouted, had stood in outrage, made her startled back.

He maintained his compose. He did not want to make her fear again , that could not be acceptable for him.

"Geet I think you are mistaking something''

"No Maan I'm not!!! It was you I know!!'' Geet became fidgety. She had no prove but she knew, it was all true but how to make him understand!!! She stood near him, was having droopy tears in eyes.

Maan held her both shoulder. "It's okay Geet .. calm down. You please don't take any stress. It would affect bad in your fever.'' He gestured her to be relax. She nodded, breathed calmly.

Though Maan was highly disturbed with the disclosing of her secret but he did not want her to experience it. He thought to give this matter his think, later.

"Geet I '''

His words remained incomplete when his phone buzzed. It was Adi. He said that Asha left from disc and will be reaching there any time. Maan nodded and hang up.

(When Maan had went to take medicine, he called Adi , who was also present in party, and ordered him to keep eyes on Asha)

He turned to Geet. He wanted to say whole world of his heart but time was very less. He wanted to clear her every little doubt but had no time. Slowly, he raised hands. With lots of hesitation he cupped her face, searched her eyes for any objection but she was silent. She was curiously waiting for him to say next set of words.

He tightened his hold, rubbed thumb on her cheeks. "Geet I don't know what to say. I-I really could not understand what had happened with you but if you can trust me, then I will make everything alright in your life, it's my promise''

He bent and kissed her cheek and left.

She remained stood with no move. Everything seemed unaffected yet adapted. She only could hear the faded closing sound of door and then found him gone.

She hasten out. There was railing in front of her flat from where could be seen narrow lanes below. She searched for him, his car; his anything, but every single significance of him had been vanished in darkness of incomplete night. She returned back and locked door.

Maan came out from darkness. He was hiding there with a smile of achievement. He had been watching her, how she had become keen for him.

"So see you soon in office, Miss Geet!' He whispered and walked to leave. He descended stairs and was to go for car when saw, two bikes stopped before building. At first Maan ignored but then suddenly his eyes fell on girl who came down from one of bike and hugged biker. She was Asha. Though he did not want to interfere in her personal life but now when he knew that Geet life was connected on her, he curiously followed her.

Before taking stairway, Asha straightened her dress. She wore long socks below her thigh length skirt. She took out a long scarf from bag and wore it around shoulder and made ponytail of her messy hairs. She used mouth-freshner and perfume to remove smell of drinks and after getting satisfied with her maintained look, she walked to flat.

Maan did not like her way of life. He had been seeing that type of girl around him, who used to be ready throwing herself on him very often. Though he had no interest in her private life but how much he had known Geet, she was not that kind of girl which Asha was, therefore, he became worried for her safety. He left to mansion with many unanswered questions renting in his mind to solve them.

Precap : "What is this Maan, why did you send them?????'' Geet was so shocked to see a maid and doctor in her house
