After two weeks , the day came of their engagement….. these two weeks were so hectic for both of them and for rest family members too….. in these two weeks, nt & dev again got engaged according to the rituals … when they get engaged at the party night, that was so sudden, no one bale to do any ritual so that they thought to again engaged them…… in these two weeks, maan & geet were like shadow of each other, they did shopping with each other….

Romancing with each other whenever they got chance, escaping from everyone's eyes and they hugging, kissing and all…..

Now everyone are in Handa Hawali, the Hawali was clad in blue & white lights, the lights are shimmering on the railings, doors and walls, everywhere….. blue & white mix curtains giving it more beautiful look, like llights and curtains are completing each other….. whole Hawali was decorated with purple orchids with white roses….. whole Hawali was looking like a bride…..

Geet's room…..

The whole room was filled with the voice of giggle and chirpiness…. Geet was all red because of lots of teasing and giggling by the other girls…. Where nt was helping her in getting ready and some girls who came from the parlour for doing her make up, doing her make up…..

In hall….. everyone was in hustle bustle…. Where jai was giving instructions to servants and on the other hand mohinder was checking the food and talking with chefs….. rano was arranging the needed things in ceremony which are going to be use…..

KHURANA MANSION

Here also, everyone was so excited, at last it was MSK's engagement…… thrill and excitement was oozing out from everyone's face who are doing preparations….. where dadi maa was arranging the things which they will take to Handa Hawali….. dadi maa was clad in deep grey designer yet simple saree, which was so beautiful, she is caring the saree elegantly and the matching pearl set was complimenting her saree….. the khandani bangles she was wearing, which is fully matched with the work over the saree……

In maan's room…..

Maan came out from the washroom after having a warm bath….. the smell of cologne of after shave was so strong that can snatch anyone's senses…he had his light stubble on his cheeks….he looks smoking hot in his light stubble….. he wiped his hairs by the towel and threw it on the bed…. Glanced at his tuxedo which he was going to wear…. But before wearing it, he splash the perfume over his bare chest and smirk seeing himself in mirror…. After all today is his day….. he wore his black tuxedo , gelled his hairs, wore his fav watch , fav tie which is matching with the suit, and the cufflings…. Again splash the perfume on himself, took his cell and headed downstairs where he saw his dadi who was in panic state….. he knew it……

After some time they reached to Handa Hawali……

They greeted by mohinder and rano and by geet's mama ji and other relatives….. where they introduced them by their relatives…..maan was getting impatient…. He really wanted to see the glimpse of geet but as usual no one is going to leave him today… after all, he is the charm of ceremony….meera went upstairs for meet geet….. after some time, the girls started singing the song as soon as they saw geet is coming…..

(Friends I have explained here a very north Indian style of engagement ceremony specially done in Aggrawal families….I hope you like it.as these rituals held in my family too so I knew much about it and the Aggrawals are here, they also knew about these rituals…. And those who lived in north-india are also knew about it….. and the song seq just for my own will, only for adding little bit excitement in whole ceremony….)

meera and nt flanked along her both sides and lift her lehanga little bit so that she didn't get problem in getting down form the stairs….. maan saw her….

and mesmerized by her beauty…. Forgot that he is in between so many peoples and he too starts singing the song for his lady-love…. She was clad in lavender color lehnaga which is mixed with different shades, the lehanga tied below her belly button and she was wearing the belly chain which was gifted by maan on the karwa chauth….. the blouse was also colorful and the work on the lahanga was antic, the lahanga was designer designed by the famous designer of Delhi, and the dupatta was pin up on her shoulder and it was again pinup and the other side of lehanga revealing her curves while the other side of dupatta pin up in her bangles on the other hand……. Maan was lost in her that he forgot he was climbing stairs and already reached by her side…… he held her hand and the words came out from his mouth……..

He held her hand and starts getting down the stairs where she was pink in shyness and he has naughty glint……

He kept her hand on his heart and giving her signals that my heart is beating for you where jai & dev starts whisteling…… geet shied and nt & meera sang with other girls…..

Nt held her face by her chin and asked her why are you so shy where geet shook her head in no…. this is true that they loved each other but it was the first time geet is being with maan in some function and today is her engagement too and she was get lots of tease from the morning……but now she is opening because she is with maan now….and where maan is with her, she forget everything……

Maan held her hand and pulled her towards him, both are stood in mid and kissed her forehead….. he twirl her round and round where she is moving with the rhythm of the song …….

without noticing anyone when he hugged her, he bite her ear when she first shy but then she gave him her naughty smile…..she pushed him where he looked at her baffled but became calm when he hear her wordings……

She moved around him where he looked at her….. she pinched him on his hand without noticing anyone and show her fake anger to him but he smiled inwardly at her antics……

Maan moves towards her friends and held one girl's hand from them and danced with her where geet fumed in anger seeing him with her friend……

She pulled maan from that girl's grip and held him possessively but then pushed him escorting her nose and pouted her lips cutely……

Maan held her and she landed on his chest then maan pushed her again by his finger pointing from her forehead where her mouth went O shape….

She pulled him by his shoulder and gave him her playful punch but then hugged him……

Then girls pulled geet from maan's embrace and rano sang the song along with nt but nt is happy that both sisters will live together…….

Rano had tears in her eyes where geet also have tears in her eyes….. geet,nt and rano hugged each other but then jai , dev and maan lighten the atmosphere and sing the song again pulling geet and they pushed her towards maan where he held her protectively in his embrace and wiped her tears…..geet smiled through her tears……

Then pandit ji came and told them the shubh mururat is between 12-1 pm…. And it was almost 11:55 am….. then all headed towards the stage where nt took geet in her room, geet freshen up and then she went again the hall along with meera & nt……

She walked slowly to Maan who was already waiting for her at the stage. He looked at her lovingly as she moved towards him. There was a big couch in the middle and nt and meera along with dev and jai made both of them sit there.

Tilak

First dadi came close to Maan and asked him to sit on the carpet. He also gave him a long handkerchief to tie on his head. Maan sat on the carpet and tied the handkerchief on his head, dev helped him where dev and pandit ji also sat on the carpet beside him……

Then Mohinder came and sat in front of Maan. He put a tilak with roli on his forehead. He then gave him a thali having 5 ginni (gold coins) and a gold chain. Next Jai gave him traditional clothes comprising of shirt, pant, suit, vest and handkerchief. He also presented him with an Rolex watch. Jai did this because geet had not nay brother and Mohinder also considered him as his son…… jai wanted to did this ritual so they gave him the permission as jai is very close to them beside their cousins…..

Geet's mamaji and his son also did tilak and gifted Maan cash.

Mohinder hugged Maan and then asked him to sit on couch. Nt came and asked Geet to sit on carpet next.

God Bharayi

Dadi, meera, Maan's Mami and Mausi along with his first cousins came on stage carrying big thals covered with satin clothes and sat around Geet in a semi circle.

Maan's mami and mausi removed the cloth from first thal to reveal heavy Kundan Jewelry. meera removed Geet's maang tika, necklace and earrings. His cousins with help of all ladies placed the new maang tika, earrings and necklace on Geet. She took the Kangans and added to her arms.

Next thal contained all the makeup items. Meera removed Geet's bindi and put a new bindi. Then she touched her eye and face make up with all the new makeup things. Finally maan's mausi lifted Geet's maang tika, took a pinch of sindoor and put it in her parting.

Maan's mausi took a basket which contained a doll. She took the boy doll and placed it over dupatta in Geet's lap to signify prosperity in their upcoming married life. Then she took Gola (dry coconut) and placed it in her lap. The doll is sign of the baby that after the marriage they became proud parents….All the while girls kept on teasing Geet and praising her beauty.

Ring Ceremony

Dadi signaled Maan to join Geet. Maan sat next to her. mohinder came and gave a ring box to Maan. He removed the ring and placed it on Geet's finger. It was a simple yet beautiful solitaire set in a gold band. His fingers lingered a little longer and he squeezed his thumb and held her hand fully where he saw her eyes twinkling in joy….

Geet felt his warm and soothing touch assuring her as they took the first step of their new relationship. She blushed and removed the ring from another box and placed it on Maan's finger. It was a gold band studded with multiple diamonds.

Dadi opened a box of sweet and gave it to Geet. Geet felt shy with all eyes on her as she fed Maan. She blushed even harder when Maan took the same ladoo and fed Geet while all are clapping and whistling.

Wedding Saree

Finally dadi removed veil from the last thal which contained a red saree with gold flowers all over it and a red zari border. It also contained a silk chunri with jaipuri print and heavy gota at the corner. dadi placed both the things in Geet's lap.

Everyone clapped to signify ending of official ceremony.

Nt came forward to help Geet as she got up. She was holding all the things in her pallu carefully…. Nt took all the things from Geet and kept it aside. They both sat at the couch as Panditji came up on stage.

Panditji – "Nakshatra aur Kundli ke hisaab se sabsa pehla mahurat kareeb 2 mahine baad ka nikalta hai…tareek(date) 20^th Aug hai ..

Dadi maa thanked Panditji and gave him dakshina. mohinder proudly announced the date of marriage to be fixed on 20^th AUGUST. Maan squeezed Geet's hand lightly as the date was announced. Both had a eye lock then she blushed furiously when maan whispered in her ear 2oth Aug….. maan saw her red cheeks which went more redder……

Their heart thudded together and Geet looked at Maan who was gazing at her with all the love in the world and an assuring smile on his face. He mouthed her – "Congratulations sweetheart". Geet smiled slightly but then shyness took over her at the thought of her marriage day. She blushed and looked down.
