seems like things have happened in the past...

n satya feels like he is...once again...walking the same path...

n satya also feels...like geet is the only one who can help him get out of all this...

emily can compartmentalize...but can HE...

sometimes when past comes in the present...it becomes difficult to not to relate to it...to keep ur personal feelings aside from the professional front...

n all this is taking its toll on him...like i said...he is associating himself with this case...

continue soon...

thnx for PM...

Chapter 1:

...

The guard saw that the younger woman Geet was shifting in her chair nervously.

"The circumstances in which he died and things that events that led to it would make me apprehensive to talk about it. Don't you think so?" Geet questioned Dr. Vandana.

"You were young back then Geet. Loss of a primary male figure in your life influenced development of love map." Dr. Vandana responded. Geet's eyes narrowed at that.

"I am not sure if I understand you Dr. Vandana," she said.

"Seventeen is a very tender age Geet. A parent must practice extreme caution while dealing with pre-adolescents. They have to be…protected from the evils of the world," Dr. Vandana said haltingly. Geet looked at the older woman under her eyelashes carefully observing plethora of emotions dancing on the older woman's face.

"Did you protect any of them Dr. Vandana, given how you specialize in that area after all?" Geet questioned.

The doctor didn't respond to Geet immediately. She jotted notes for several minutes and then cleared her throat.

"I did, actually. Seven of them," she said. "I wish I could save more but I am glad that I could at least help those kids." She added.

"Oops! Our time is up!" She exclaimed looking at the wall clock.

"Will I see you again Dr. Vandana?" Geet asked as she saw two women in overalls along with a doctor came into the room. She sighed. Dr. Vandana was indeed right.

Describing Geet as the resident being questioned by an older woman taking notes, from the guard's perspective, was a brilliant way to start off the story and spook most of the avid readers of Till Human Voices Wake Us. I am sure you must have chuckled while writing that, anticipating the "Oh, not again!" sigh and the "Oh wow, definitely not again!" smile of relief (well, at least for the moment) from your readers.

Now, Geet's father was a consulting forensic psychiatrist, while Geet is a consulting psychologist. So, she did not follow him in the exact same field, did she? Is there any particular reason for this difference?

Ah, Dr Vandana is particularly interested in her "patient's" love life:-)

Yet another question. Why would Geet, while posing as a patient in order to draw out information from Dr Vandana, disclose her father's "real" death to her "treating" doctor? Was this her way of sharing what she has been unable to share so far with others? Or, being one in the same field and given that Geet was welcomed by her father's peer group, was Dr Vandana already aware of Geet's identity and about the mysterious death of her father?

And I am very curious. What was Dr. Vandana indeed right about? Loss of a primary male figure in Geet's life and its repurcussions? Exercise of extreme caution by a parent while dealing with pre-adoloscents (bearing in mind that Dr Pratap Handa had sent Geet off to a boarding school when she was about 16)? Children being protected from the evils of the world? [Who exclaimed, "Our time is up!" Lying as it does between Dr Vandana's reply and Geet's question to Dr Vandana, I am not sure about the identity of the speakert.] If it was Dr Vandana who exclaimed that time was up, was that what she was right about?

Why is Geet trying to find a burial ground where Dr Vandana buried the bodies? What led her to assume that Dr Vandana disposed off the bodies by by burying them? She could have use other modes of disposal.

Lastly, I was intrigued by the fact that the mental health facility was by the sea shore. While the location of a mental health facility on the the sea shore would provide a pleasant ambiance for persons who are being treated for various mental health disorders, the location appears to be more appropriate for a facility that people voluntarily enter for treatment (to wit, the fact that Geet had her own share of patients residing in that facility). However, the description of the mental health faciiity in this chapter also evoked an image of an institution (to wit, the guard, the overalls, etc) that also houses persons who are accused of or convicted of crimes, the commission of which are attributed to their unsoundness of mind. Bearing this in mind, would not the location pose a security risk?
