He nodded an ok and walked to dining room, Dadima got up, she told nakul to reheat the food for them, Dadima walked into their room, she saw how Geet had cuddled Pari in her arms as if protecting her, she smiled gently, Dadima sat beside her and soflty caressed her face, tenderly waking her up, Geet stireed then opened her eyes, she looked at dadi in surprise.

Araam se bete, Dadima told her as she tried to get up in a jerk, nearly waking up Pari.

Geet sat up, setting Pari properly, ji aap?

Bete khana kha ne ajaye

Mujhe bhook nahi hai

Lekin mujhe toh hai

Hum kisi ko bhooke rehna pasand nahi, isi liye jab tak aap nahi khayenge hum bhi nahi khayenge

Dadima left the room, whilst Geet went to freshen up, as Geet came out, she placed pillows near Pari to make sure she doesn't wake up and topple off the bed... just then someone had knocked

Geet opened the door only to find Sameera standing there.

Geet- ji

Bhabhi Dadima ne bheja hai, jab tak aap khaye main Pari ko dyaan raku

Geet nodded an ok- Pari so rahi hai, agar woh utt jaye mujhe bhula lijiye

Ji, Geet walked down reluctantly, she went and sat at the table, Maan and Dadima waited for her to come, as she sat, Dadima served her

Dadima main le lungi, aap please kha lijiye

Hum kha lenge, pehle aap khaye

Please, aap humare liye takleef mat utaye hume accha nahi lage ga

Teek hai bete, the trio ate in silence, Geet ate ever so slowly, Maan had already finished, Sam came down with Pari whipering in her arms, Geet was about to get up

Maan- Geet tum khana kha lo pehle, main Pari ko dekhta hoon

Dadima- Geet Maan sahi keh rahe hai, aise khane se utt kar jana teek nahi hai bete, Geet continued eating, trying to eat fast to get to Pari,

Maan took Pari, playing with her, he lifted her into the air then caught her, making her giggle endlessly, whilst eating, Geet had heard Pari giggle an instant smile crossed her face, finally she had finished, she quickly washed her hands and walked towards the hall where Pari's laughter echoed from.

She stood at the entrance, looking at Maan bonding with Pari, he tickled Pari's stomach making her laugh louder, Pari saw Geet, then stretched her arms for Geet, clapping – mama... ma..ma... she babbled in her cute voice, Geet walked over and took her from Maan gently, giving Maan a faint smile, to which he reciprocated back. Dadima had just entered the room, Geet was about to leave, when Dadima called her.

Todhi der yaha humare saat betiye, Geet looked hesitant, as most of them were in the hall, she didn't wanted to be crowded.

She tried to form a sentence but her voice seemed to give up

Maan intervened seeing her fumble- Geet koi baat nahi, jaa ke araam kar lo

She nodded and left, Dadima knew with Geet they'd have to take extra small steps to gain her trust, but was happy on one side that Geet had ate atleast.

Pari had slept, Geet leaned on the bedrest recalling the day, she had never even dreamt of such events to take place in a day, turning her life around, whether it was for the good or bad she didn't know but one thing she knew was her life would never be the same again.

Her thoughts drifted to Arjun and Arohi, she tried to call them again, but it still came unavailable, she feared had HE done something to both, as only she knew what he was capable of, her thoughts went back to the days when he entered and ruined her entire life.

She picked her phone up and called their phones once again, after a few rings, Arjun picked up

Geet? Tumne iss waqt kyun phone kiye?

Haan, she then explained everything, from the flowers to the threat to Maan coming and saving her then the sudden marriage.

Arjun was somewhat glad that Maan had saved her, but he was somewhere worried what if Maan disowns her later, what if he doesn't accept Pari later, so many thoughts went through him.

Arjun bid bye after questioning Geet 101 million times, Geet assured him she was fine though she was more worried about their safety rather than hers.

She cut the call and put the phone on the side, just then Maan entered. She straightened her body posture and looked at him, giving a polite smile, Maan walked over slowly towards her, which increased her heart rate hesitating a little with him advancing towards her. He stopped and sat near the edge, Geet was somewhat confused.

I know what happened today is confusing and complicated, believe me Geet, it's confusing for me too. And I also know it will take time for you to digest the fact that we're married now, but I really meant what I said before whether you accept me as your husband or not, I don't care but for me, since I filled your forehead, I accepted you as my wife and Pari as my own daughter.

Geet looked away, her heart refusing to believe his words, due to her dreadful past.. HE also said he loved her, will take care of her, if he really did, would he have forced her, would he have destroyed her.

Geet Maan called her name softly seeing her lost in her thoughts.

She turned to face him.

You won't accept me as your husband but can we atleast be friends.. I promise never to interfere in your space.

He held out his hand for a handshake, Geet hesitantly moved her hand forward and shook his hands.

He smiled at her, he thanked Dadima mentally for giving him the idea of offering his friendship, Geet reciprocated the smile, Maan then bid good night and left to the adjacent room, he thumped onto the bed happily that finally his relation with Geet is going somewhere, maybe not as lovers, but as friends is better than strangers.

That night he slept happily, dreaming of Geet and only Geet, she will be perfect as his humsafar, but will he be able to stand by her side when all odds will be against her. As HE will return for his Geet no matter what...

Maan woke up at 5:30 to go to the gym, he grabbed a towel n made his way out, he entered the room and saw Geet walking around with Pari.

Geet, he called out gently

She stood rooted in her place then slowly turned to see Maan in his vest and tracks.

Sorry, Pari ke waje se aap jaag gaye

Nahi, woh mujhe gym jana ta, par tum itne sawaire?

Pari utt gayi hai, woh nahi sona chahti

Kyun?

Pata nahi, usko khilaya diya hai, aur change bhi kiya, shayad neend udh gayi hai

He smiled a little, he saw how tired she looked, her eyes were red, and had dark patches.

Tum so jao, Pari ko yaha de do

Nahi aap gym jaye

Geet de do mujhe. Maan forwarded his arms for Pari who happily jumped to him

Geet sir bolna bandh karo

Toh phir kya bolu?

Maan

Par aap ke naam kaise le sakti hoon?

Sirf office main, ghar pe toh tumhara pat... I mean friend hoon

Maan played with Pari, tickling her, and animatedly talking to her, Geet leaned against the head rest and watched them, soon Pari was back to sleep, Maan lay her down properly.

Teek hai, Maan interrupted.. office zarur aana lekin ab todhi der so jao kyun ki main nahi chahti ki mere employees aise dikhe jaise char paanch din ke liye soye nahi.

She glared at him, Maan smirked, she turned her face away.

Geet so jao, baad main gussa kar lena, with that said he left the room, Geet couldn't help but smile a little, she remembered their little convo, never had she been so comfortable with someone within a day. She lay back down to catch up on her sleep, and slowly closed her eyes.
