@Shali...Geet remembers her farz and her zimmedari at her convenience...🤔 While dressing up Nandini she remembers her duty but isn't it also her duty to tell her sister the truth about the man she's about to marry. Also what about her duty as a wife? She's lying to her husband to uphold her devar/ex-husband's word. Its utter nonsense...👎🏼

I agree/disagree... she has too as a sister...but at the same didn't geet told her to ask Dev abouit his past...so it nandini's duti...to get to know more about the man she is marrying...shouldn't she ask certain Q... about his past, first marraige ect ect...then she should deceid to marry the guy or not...

Yes he does feel the attraction whenever she is near him but even before they could finish the scene ,CVs jump to the Devini banwagon Ouch... I hope CVs concentrate on the passion element between Maaneet now ...
@Shali:Nandu is not a orphan that Geet had to fulfilled Beeji ka wishes 😡Ouch...ufff me too feel like banging her head here Ouch
@Shreya:Good u r saved from Devini ka maha torture in the dining table scene where Maaneet scene ka aaj Devini ne satyanash kar diya 😆😆

)Hi Devils🤗
Looks like the discussion is going on abt RTM.
When I saw that episode, I was like what was that, one of the hottest and sensous scenes I have seen both in movies and on TV. I couldnt believe that they showed it on TV. It gave me goose bumps and it still gives goose bups even now when I watch it.😍
Since I joined the den very recently, when I get bored I go and read the previous den, I couldnt believe that the devils were cribbing abt the RTM sequence. I was like, what else do they want to see😡. But now I started cribbing if we dont get hot scenes b/w maneet, I guess discussions in the Den or in the forum raises pur expectations and they are not met we crib. added to that sbb,sbs segments spoil it for us some more
This is strictly in regards to the hot maneet scenes, but no way related to the crap we are shown these days. We dont have high expectations now, but we have minimum epxectations to keep the most beloved characters intact. But we dont get even that

@Jyo, you made my day with those pics 😍

OK me off to watch the episode be back in few mins(mins only maneet were shown 😉)

@Shali:Geet can fulfill her duties of a sister after telling the truth to her husband also 🤔...and what duty is she performing ?by supporting her sister in this marriage ka challenge game ??😕..she should hv stopped her from doing this blunder actually 😡 and that would hv been a better duty of a responsible sister

My thoughts on Dev being repeatedly termed as "rapist" (I have posted this elsewhere on the forum, but would love for more people to share their views and point out what I have missed - because what I feel is that describing him as such has become a trend that few actually bother to question). Anyway, here goes:
Dev and Geet consummated their dhoke-waala marriage, and Geet was not forced into it. He lied to her, and deceived her (and yes, that is wrong), but there cannot be rape if the consummation was consensual. Did anyone notice Geet "nahiiin, chhor do mujhe!!!" during the suhaag raat scene? Did she look in any way distressed, or violated afterwards? She thought him to be her husband, liked him, and ultimately, allowed the 'act' to take place.
I have a feeling issues are being conflated here.
Dev deceived Geet and her family, hid his marriage to Naintara from them, and got married to Geet only for money = WRONG, for obvious reasons
Them sleeping together = Natural consequence of what Geet believed to be a lawful marriage = WRONG, because it stemmed from Dev's previous deception.
But just because it's WRONG, does not make it RAPE.
Of course, Geet's consent was induced by Dev's misrepresentation. True, deceit/fraud does vitiate consent. The consent is said to be apparent, and not real, because it is based on a mistaken impression of the woman.

But, not all kinds of deceit vitiate consent. There are only two types of misrepresentation that vitiate consent. One is that which induces an error in negotio, where the nature of the act is misrepresented (ie the perpetrator pretends it's not intercourse but something else, like a medical intervention or something) and the other is the one that induces an error in persona (as described above). That Geet would not have slept with Dev if he had not deceived her, is, sadly enough, irrelevant.

And also, by the way, the lawfulness of the marriage has no bearing on the status of the act itself. Because somebody's lawfully wedded husband may also rape his lawfully wedded wife (aka marital rape).

The key is really to look at consent, and figure out, based on objectively ascertainable subjective facts, whether or not it was really there. And the consent would be there if, the woman (who has the requisite mental capacity) voluntarily (ie without being under duress) consents to sexual intercourse (no error in negotio) with the actual person (no error in persona).

I think some of you are being overly emotional. It's true that what happened was wrong, and that there were traumatic after-effects (you say, similar to that of rape, which is debatable but anyway), but that still does not make it rape. And anyway, you can't base the enquiry on after-effects because different people would have different thresholds of sensitivity. An actually raped person may not really feel violated for whatever reason, but that (thankfully) does not make her any less raped. And, what if Geet was somebody who did not belong to a close-knit conservative family and did not believe extramarital sex to be a big deal? Then, no rape? Surely, you can't have a different definition of rape for different people.

Now, maybe you just mean, based on your emotional response to what happened, that what happened was "like" a rape, in which case, you must say that Dev is "like" a rapist.

Just before I leave, imagine the appallingly prevalent scenario where two people sleep with each other out of wedlock and the guy promises the (adult, sober, mentally fit) girl that she wouldn't get pregnant and she does, and he leaves her. Rape? Shouldn't she have been wiser, no matter what a disgusting jerk the guy was?

At most, she can drag the guy to court on the basis of his deception, and under tort law, sue him for causing her physical and emotional distress, and yes, she can include in the claim, damage to reputation, medical bills, etc. She might even win. And over and above all that, she might even be able to get maintainance for her child. But to secure a rape conviction, based on the facts, would be impossible. The elements of the crime are just not met.

And to end, ever wondered why, in the serial itself, rape/zabardasti was never mentioned, not even once? Only dhoka was mentioned? Most probably by sheer coincidence, but maybe, serials' portrayal of law/medicine/business can be accurate sometimes? :)

Just saying.

@Nirvy:I guess in early days we used to get things without even asking for it and that sort of spoiled us all and so we kept cribbing even for the smallest of things 😆 and today even after begging ,we get nothing but only trash and so we r more than happy with even a slight ray of hope 😆😆...right now we r beggars who cant b choosers 😆😆

@Errm:Well personally I hv never used Rape word for Dev-Geet consummation ..so I can speak for myself and not for others ...I always believed that Dev used Geet for his own selfish motives both financially and also physically ...after his betrayal ,Geet herself felt that she was used and abused cruelly by Dev because her reaction while taking off her mangalsutra and sindoor in pain and anger in those early HP days showed it all ...those flashes r still present in minds of the viewers because they felt deeply connected with Geet ka emotions in that airport scene when she kept shouting and pleading for Dev to take her with him ...
Because of that one night ,Geet had to go through every trauma in her life where at a piont even her family wanted to kill her brutally ...
All of a sudden we see same Geet all friendly with Dev and also becoming a cupid and matchmaker for her own sister with her own culprit (I used the word culprit here and not rapist ..both hv a difference) ...Her forgiveness to Dev was fine if she was completely indifferent towards him and always maintained a distance from him and just treated him as her husband's brother rather than her pyaara Devar ...I dont think any girl in real life too can b so damn comfortable with her once upon a time ex-hubby who married her and slept with her for one night just to get the wealth from her
