Nandini speaks her mind
In STAR One's leading prime-time show Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, Nandini is thrilled to meet her childhood friend Ranbir. She feels she has a confidant in him now.
However, she is unaware of the repercussions that her proximity has on Dev, who hasn't told her about his feelings yet. We spoke to Nandini aka Melanie Pais about her feelings for Ranbir, Dev, marriage and more.
What's your current state of mind?
Right now, I am very happy to meet my best childhood buddy Ranbir after so long. He is one person with whom I can share all my feelings without hesitation. I was happy to know that he is coming to see me, but I was a little upset when the diya in the pooja got extinguished by mistake.
What do you think of marriage today, as your have had a broken engagement in the past?
I am not thinking of my past at all. Earlier, I was not contemplating marriage at all. However, now, I just want to move ahead in life, leaving my past behind.
What do you think of your friend Ranbir?
He is a very sweet, clean- hearted guy, and I can rely on him for anything. I know he will be there to help me whenever I need him. Since childhood, we have been good friends, and we know almost everything about each other. I am really lucky to have a friend like Ranbir.
How was your date with Ranbir?
It was not a date, but a casual coffee outing with Ranbir. I think it was natural to go out with a friend whom you meet after a long time. So, we did the same. The meeting with him at the restaurant was great, and it brought back my childhood memories. I was glad to see him.
What are your feelings for Ranbir?
At this point in time, I don't have any feelings for Ranbir. For me, he is just a good friend. Moreover, I don't think I can fall in love with Ranbir in my wildest dreams, because I don't feel that way for him. As for him, I haven't noticed anything to indicate that he loves me.
Are you trying to make Dev jealous?
No, I am not trying to make Dev jealous. I don't think he was jealous when he saw me with Ranbir. Being a conservative Indian girl, I really can't play with his emotions, especially after knowing that he is married to Naintara. And why would I want to make him jealous?
Are you happy that your marriage has been fixed?
I have no idea about my marriage being fixed, as no one in the family has told me so. There is, therefore, no question of being happy or not.
At this moment, what are your feelings for Dev?
I don't have any feelings for Dev, as he is Dev Khurana, my friend – that's all. Yes, I was shocked to know that he was married to Naintara. As his friend, I expected him to tell me beforehand. But never mind, I can understand why he kept it a secret, as it was an unsuccessful marriage.
