Had a tiff with my hubby on our anniversary day because I was enthusiastic about talking to him and he seemed dull and irritated when he heard me. He asked me what I wanted to say in such an disinterested tone. When I asked him why did he sound so dull he said that he had a hard day at work. I felt disappointed that he was not interested to speak to me and hurriedly wished him good night, telling him I'll not disturb him. I thought he may call me and say it was OK, that he too wanted to talk to me but no, the guy did not bother to call back or leave an SMS. A whole day went by yesterday without him calling me or SMSing me. Although I wanted to talk to him, I steeled myself up and refused to call him. If I was home, I'll make my feelings known through my facial expressions but since I'm so far away from him, that was not possible.

This morning I couldn't bear it any longer. I knew my hubby is a dense guy and may not even realise I am angry with him till I get it through to him. But how was I to do that without talking to him? That was my dilemma. Finally I decided to call on the landline. I knew he will be home today as it is a holiday. My mom-in-law picked up the phone and before I could tell her that I wanted to speak to my son alone and not my hubby, she passed on the phone to him. I told him curtly I wanted to speak to my son and not him. As I expected my dense hubby did not even realise that I have been angry with him for the last two days for he asked me in surprise why I did not want to talk to him. I said I did not want to speak to people who were not interested in talking to me. It is only then he realised that I was upset with his response a couple of days back. He tried to tell me why he was abrupt. He gave the excuse of having a headache. I got more furious and asked him if talking to me gave him a headache and insisted that he called my son over. He kept begging to speak to me but I wouldn't relent. I told him that even if he was tired to speak to me at that moment, he could have sent me an SMS later apologising for not being able to talk to me. He said that he did send me an SMS which by the way was the one I got in the morning of our anniversary, much before our tiff. I told him that did not count and he still had not sent a proper apology. I cut the line off when he refused to put me on to my son and tried to corner me into speaking with him.

Finally he sent me an SMS saying how sorry he was and how much he loves me. It is only then that I gave in and called him up.
