Geet knew the surprise was one thing that would bring some semblance of hope back into their lives, some colors. Holi was of course a means to bring the lost colors back in their lives. Their loss cannot be overcome but may be colors would help in the healing process.

She had decided she was going to do the smiling especially for Daadi as she was the one who had to deal with Dev and Maan and their faceoff and of course the loss of a great grandchild. She had to do this for her sake and Maan's as they needed to move on and move ahead.

Holi as they say is symbolic of burning away all old angst and Geet had decided she was going to do just that. Her first step was to forgive Dev. Her next step was to garner closer bond with Maan and Daadi. She was a determined woman and was not going to let a tragedy ruin her future. She had the ability to move on and that is what she was going to do now.

She had prepared a feast and invited most of the office folks to help celebrate life which though seemed colorless to her right now will bring new colors in her life. She was going to go with a clean slate to her husband and ask him to fill her up with new hope, new joys and new will to live happily.

She had prepared everything according to Maan's tastes but she also wanted to infuse some traditions in her otherwise pasta eating husband. She had yet to get him to agree to the goodness of paratha as breakfast but then Rome was not built in a day.

Maan could hear the going on in the house, he knew his wife was up to something but he blissfully lay in the bed not worrying for he knew this happiness that she derived from such activities was any day acceptable to the non-communicative mode she had gone into post miscarriage. He felt her pain and he felt her deep hurt but he failed to understand her forgiving Dev. He could never, never forgive him for what he had gotten Geet into. He was a fair man but this was not acceptable.

He was not ready to let bygones be bygones; he was not going to let the crime that Dev committed be brushed under the carpet. So he was his own flesh and blood and Daadi was torn between fair play and family loyalty but he could not condone his act and the proof of it lived in front of him and in his heart.

Maan decided to let the preparations come underway for Holi and knew she was going to make this one as memorable as she could. He knew she was one person whose smile made a difference in his life. He was going to take a step towards her, towards their happiness. Time for them to make a new beginning, turn a new leaf and bring more joy to if not forget then at least diminish some of the pain that they both are going through. He vowed to himself that he was going to concentrate on her, just her and make her know that she meant the world to him and it was her happiness that was at the core of his being. He lived for her and her happiness alone. With that he drifted off to sleep filled with dreams of her.

Geet tiptoed into the room to find Maan deeply asleep with a smile on his face. She bent over him and let her hair fall across his face tickling him. He murmured, "Geet" but just turned over. She instead of bothering him further cuddled to him spoon fashion and went off to sleep for, well two hours for she had more to do in the morning, even though technically it was.

She woke up to find him snuggled into her holding her tight. She whispered, "aise hi mujhe thame rakhna" as she gave him a peck on his brow and slipped out from under him to shower and get dressed.

A stark white salwar kameez, her proverbial slate on which she wanted her husband to write new verses; the purity of heart and mind brought on the table of love for one man who had become the very universe of her life; to show to her husband that she wanted him to throw all the colors he had to offer and fill her life with renewed vigor and love. She hummed Mujhe Rang De Mujhe Rang De rang de from Thakshak as she went about getting Nakul, Vishal and other house help to set the house in colors of love, laughter and happiness. A beacon to the way things were going to change.

Annie had left the jail in a confused state but she was once again determined to face it out with Arjun and ask him outright what were his actions all about, a benevolence of a generous man or was it his love for her that was shining through. She wanted to burn away the animosity he felt because of his sister and her condition in the fire of Holi and to start anew as a strong as steel that withstands fire. She was going to talk to him tomorrow in the Holi celebration that Geet had organized to surprise Maan.

Arjun had felt aghast at the truth that had been laid bare to him by his brother in law. His love for his sister did not diminish but suddenly he felt bereft of the purpose with which he sought revenge from the Khuranas. He now felt unshackled from the burden of not doing the right thing for his sister. He now felt guilt free for loving Annie. Yes, he loved her, "I love you Annie" he whispered to himself as he chewed over the information Dev had given him. He gave a lopsided smile to himself and promised himself that he would now take all the steps towards one girl he had wronged and who was the last person he would want to hurt. He realized how misguided loyalty led him away from one person he wanted to be closest to. He recalled their one night of heaven which had gotten by ill intentions and ill means. He was now going to do the right thing and marry her. "Annie, I am coming to you…" he muttered aloud.

Everyone was gathered in the lawn of the Khurana Mansion. Maan was yet to come; he had to go to Ambala to solve a situation with the construction of an office building that would be one floor higher than the stipulated laws close to the Air Force Base. He had to meet an officer of the Government at his residence as it was to be dealt with to explain the height norms and the floor numbers. It was a technically point that the officer failed to understand and Maan had to meet him to make him understand that being underhand or unethical was not part of his make-up. He had not anticipated this on Holi but Adi had informed him that the only time available was this or lose the contract.

Adi had not gone but one of the lawyers had gone with Maan. Maan had asked him to help Geet without her knowing that he was aware of her surprise.

Manish and Romeo were there to help as well. Even the newbie Nitya had come into the folds. Annie's eyes had searched for Arjun but he had not come yet. Dev was around helping Daadi with organizing the colors on various tables laid out. Manish and Romeo had also arranged for a Rain Dance to add flavor to the colors, an area which was going to douse everyone with shower. It was their little prank on all.

Daadi had followed the tradition of having the logs set up for the Holi to be burnt, she has advised Dev to go forward and talk to Maan and burn all their animosity in the Holi fire and come out with renewed love and loyalty to the family. She could not wait for the bad air to be cleared, the negativity to be washed away in the colors of brotherhood.

Dev had seen Geet work hard to get Maan to understand why she forgave him and he believed that Maan must not have been happy at her having done so. He could imagine the anger that must simmer within Maan when he must have been told by her all that transpired in the farm house. Dev was going to try and do the best to help Geet and Maan come closer. He would do anything to bring them happiness that seemed forever clouded because of him. He could not leave the house because of Daadi and knew he would always be the thorn on their side, just as one that had hurt Geet when he had first met her on her terrace in Hoshiarpur. He wondered why he suddenly remembered that day, the way he had held her feet and tied a handkerchief around her foot. Today, he wanted to heal that wound, he wanted to make reparations that would heal her. He knew the loss of the baby was something that she took very badly but he would not let him be another cause for damaging their relationship. He would do his best to give that happiness what he could not give. He stopped at the thought that entered his mind.

He admonished himself, "Tum kabhi kisi ko koi khushi nahi de sakte Dev…"and gave a rueful twist to his lips that was self derogatory. "You deserve this. You deserve the animosity from Arjun, Maan, hell everyone. Arjun was right when he had accused you of being unreliable. Now the only penance is loneliness and heartache for the rest of your life." He pointed finger at his reflection in the mirror in the hallway, then turned and walked away.

He went out to find Manish and Romeo and other staff playing with colors, even though it should ideally be done after the Holi has been lit.

He saw Daadi, Geet and Annie doing the pooja of Holi and went up to them to join. He also saw Arjun had come and stood next to Daadi.

Once the pooja was done, Arjun came upto Dev and told, "Dev, aaj tak mein yahi samjhta tha ki pure Khurana family ne meri behen ke saath galat kiya par mein galat tha, aaj mein maafi maangne aaya hoon… please mujhe maaf kar do." He then proffered his hand but Dev gave him a hug.

Annie was happy to see Dev bhai and Arjun hug and realized that now she would be able to talk to Arjun as well.

Just then Romeo came up with some colors in his fists with intention of smearing it on her, so she scooted towards the canopy and hid herself behind the makeshift pillar.

As she was watching out for Romeo and Manish who were up to mischief, she felt a hand holding her wrist and tugging it. She screamed but a hand closed on her mouth and was pull against something hard.

She turned startled eyes to find Arjun holding her in his arms. He slowly released her and she started to open her mouth when he said, "mujhe tumse kuch baat karni hai… pls mere saath aao…"
