Its not a nice thing he did.

MSK does NOT mean hitting own brother.

BUT I feel..he didn't want Geet to see it..that side..that violent side to him.

The happiness that he thought had returned to his home n heart has been extinguished once more.

2 bros fighting or 1 hitting the other is not unity of the house..so house divided and the jyot of peace extinguished

Then..he just didn't want to see Dev's face right now..

us time toh dev dikha aur maan ne..dhishum..but for his own control perhaps..he just extinguished the candle.

Also..somehow I feel maan will hold himself responsible for what happened..cuz he had turned dev out of the house..if he had given the required money, dev won't hv gone to HP n married Geet n destroyed her life.

if he hadn't been in love with her..this pain she was suffering wouldn't have to be borne..

more importantly- HE wasn't there when this happened..he couldn't 'read' Geet's eyes and so that sense of hurting himself..shows that need of punishing himself somehow for not feeling or understanding Geet's unsaid and unshared pain..

Im speculating here...
