Sorry!I'm from Bhubaneswar and Silliguri is nt in Odisha!
Silliguri is in West Bengal!
Reference link from Wikipedia:
But u r right ....Chaudhury's are there in Odiyas also.....but Gurmeet is nt.He's punjabi for sure.
But may be he originally belongs to this city coz this city has lots of army bases around it and his father was working in army it seems!
And in another of his interview he said that he visits Kolkata during DurgaPuja for Debi!
That means Debi belongs to Kolkata! And she's bengali we all know.
And morever punjabi's do have chaudhury surname.
Its all implies that he's punjabi!
But why all these queries abt his regional belongingness all of a sudden?😕
He's an Indian!Thats makes a better sense.

One thing is for sure. Gurmeet and Drashti are both Indian. From what I have heard, Gurmeet is from Patna or M.P but his father being in the army, he has spent his growing years all over the country. He was named Gurmeet because he was born in Chandigarh. Maybe his parents were fond of the name. Drashti seems to be a mix between Punjabi (father) and Gujarati (mother). Well, if all this is correct onlyn the two actors can answer. Wherever they are from, the two are adorable as Maan and Geet .

Gurmeet is not punjabi...only his name is punjabi. In one of the intw he says his name was kept Gurmeet because they were in Chandigarh at that time.
he is from M.P
