Ok finally am done with my take, am posting it now!!
Today I would say the episode showed Passionate Persuasion & Probings of our Prince to his Princess!! π
I am back but still very much up in the 9th cloud, so don't know whether I will make much sense or not. π Darn it!! Day in & day out the CV's, Director & the actors take us to new heights of exploration about romance, feelings, emotions & passion! So many layers r involved in each & every dialog, in every scene, in every gesture & its like a walk around the maze trying to solve & decipher all of them. So thank u CV's, really from the core of my heart for making us think intellectually everyday for a mere TV show!! It feels good to see something so extraordinary from the ordinary, regular, mundane saas-bahu pot boilers. Can't thank u enough for this!
Ok to the show now, the 1st shot itself showed how 'babaji' is all 'meherban' on them, when their love is involved he will do everything to make it magical & unique. Rain is not in human control but definitely he can bring the showers of his blessings on & around them in form of rain!! Beautiful start!! Loved the way how involuntarily they started walking towards each other & then Maan's scrutiny over her attire & look all mesmerised. But I would say initially MSK was controlled today, he didn't get carried away seeing her! But his look nevertheless not for a moment lost that intensity. He kept looking at her searching her soul & heart through her eyes. And I always go 'fida' over his eyes! π Ok Earth beckoning, coming back!!! Sigh!!
What I loved was when he asked her about Pari & she said she left & he immediately notices she has something in her hand & man.........what audacity he has, no asking or requesting, he just tries to take it from her! And after that letter gets burnt he fumes asking what was there that I can't read! It shows how he feels about them, he knows he belongs to her & she belongs to him! Her letter, her confidential stuff & he has the right to read & go through it! It shows he knows both of them belong to each other however he says or behaves otherwise in front of her!! He doesn't even think twice about taking something from her without her permission, am not saying that is right but one does that only when one is absolutely comfortable & certain about the other person & thinks of him/her as their own! Thanks for these small details CV's, these fine touches in between the lines keeps me on my foot! And again Barry Dhillon like always pls take a bow!! All the time u give such beautiful apt dialogs & Gurmeet & Drashti do justice to them all the time with perfect feelings & expressions! πππ Big applaud to u all.
This letter scene brought one point out into the open. He kind of gets a hunch & ponders why she was not willing to show him the letter, what was written in it that Geet wanted to conceal from him, was it about her feelings for him...... somehow I feel he got the premonition that Geet is hiding something about her feelings from him & thus his probings begin!
All throughout he was the old MSK that we saw in HP & earlier when she joined office. Total bang on, cutthroat, no nonsense, ruthless, arrogant MSK. And I guess that is what we love about him. π π And 2ndly what I noticed was all throughout they used certain punchlines which made the segments so important. His clauses to Geet about finding a girl in 1/2 hr was brilliant! And how he arrives at the conclusion that Geet fits the bill, as if he was looking for an opportunity to hook her for the job. And here his persuasion begins with the punchlines 'aur tum mujhe bilkul pasand nahi karti ho, agar tum ladki dhoond nahi sakti toh yeh kaam tum karogi, meri mangetaar tum banogi'!! And his soul searching look there said what he wanted to hear from Geet....any sign from Geet to tell him that she loves him & is willing to be his without any condition! And Gurmeet delivered that dialog with perfect ease & throw! This guy has great potential.
To me Maan still hasn't gotten over the rejection of Geet, his pride is still dented & so he can't see beyond Geet's refusal. Once this hurt subsides he will try to probe further as to why is she saying what she is saying! That is why when she refused again he got reminded of the discotheque rejection.
Now the next part though very disheartening but it was required for the story. I personally don't like the manhandling but here the bangles had to be broken & that too by Maan himself & they had to show that. Ok Doodle I read ur version of symbolic attribute about the breaking of the bangles & it can be absolutely right but what my 1st reaction was it was the end of her 1st marriage in Maan's hand symbolising a new beginning with him after this. I don't know if I am able to convey this or not! U see bangles r symbols of marriage & once it breaks it symbolises an end of a marriage! Now Geet is neither married or unmarried but whatever social (mind u not legal) affiliation she had in her marriage to Dev was finally terminated by Maan himself & only he will amend the situation for the better, meaning making a better life for her with him next to her side.
The next part about his holding the 'pallu' signifies the passion but when he slowly puts it on her it signifies Maan will always be there to protect her honor & respect her. I loved this gesture how he holds her enclosed in his arms again signifying that is where she belongs & will be always safe enveloped there. π Thank u CV's!
And when his persuasive probings starts again his desperation shows to the brim, 'main tumhare layak nahi hoon'......it takes a lot of effort for a man like MSK to ask something like this after several rejections. He was at his last straw trying to hear a contradiction from Geet on this regard. Again his intense looks there was a killer. When she asked him to let her go I got reminded of the dupatta scene in the outhouse, 'maine tumhara dupatta nahi pakda huya hai...' scene! Here too he says along the same lines.
Again severe persuasive probings in the next scene. All throughout our Prince went all the way probing his Princess to know the ways of her heart! π He brings the candle, a symbol of light of hope here, to see their bright future that he is weaving in his mind & thus takes a trip down memory lane to emphasise how he is made for her & she is for him, without him she won't be alive & immediate acknowledgement from her that her life belongs to him.....all signifying the light of hope. And his 'bolo na Geet kyun' was so passionate, so intense, so keen, so acutely hopeful! The way he wanted to know why she is refusing him was mind blowing!! Gurmeet u deserve accolades here. And Drashti was equally brilliant. Her helplessness was visible all throughout! When she said 'meri zindagi aapki amanat hai' it was so full of pathos, really my heart went out to her. What a sacrifice!! And the moment she said that I don't want to burden u with my problems Maan's expression changes, again that hard glint comes back to his eyes & there goes out the light of hope. He extinguishes it himself! That is what I felt about the candle scene. But the tension, intensity, depth, seriousness of the moment was beautifully enacted & captured onscreen!
And again what a persuasive probing!! This guy can push, that much I will give it to him. π I have to say Geet's will is also made of steel, no idea how she is refusing him all the time after so much of acute probing & persuasions. He saw that his confession is making no effect on her & so he tries pushing her buttons by forcing her to admit that she loves him & what a scene!! Nissar again I salute u!!
He forces her to admit her true feelings & what a satisfactory smile he gives!! That was a happy content Maan there, finally getting what he wants!! And even I went to 7th heaven that moment! π And then the bubble bursts & I was back to earth along with Maan. He pushed her saying u love me.....wow, didn't expect that here & it was a total surprise for me! Geet u learnt so well from ur mentor Maan himself, how he changed his words 'mujhe jo ladki pasand hai woh sirf tum......... sirf tum dhoond sakti ho, or his 'agar mujhe koi ladki pasand nahi aa rahi hai toh uske wajah tum ho......kyunki tum apne kaam thik se nahi kar rahi ho', and today Geet did exactly the same, after his probings she finally blurted out 'Yes..........yes I will do ur work'!! And Maan's smile evaporates in an instant & he is crushed again!! The body language is beautifully shown when he literally holds on to the curtain to restrain himself , to control himself from breaking down!! That was another touching moment for me! I can so understand what he is going through, he is CONFUSED big time with Geet's reactions. He feels she is in love with him, her eyes says the same, her body language conveys that & yet she rejects him verbally! I can totally relate to his confusions & reactions!
And same way I can see why Geet is behaving the way she is doing! Obviously she loves Maan & that is the very reason she doesn't want to burden him with her personal baggages. Any person who is in true love will always want the best for their loved one, same here she more than herself will feel & think for Maan, his future, his life, his happiness, his pleasures.........why will she want to be with him when she thinks he deserves much better, without any complications in his life!! And another thing she is from a small village & its her upbringing that was incorporated in her that husbands deserve the bests in every respect. And the mindset is such that a woman should offer her husband her sole possession... herself in pristine & pure form! And here she feels she is lacking in that regard & thus she will fail Maan. This is the thinking of village people & she was taught that right from her birth. This is my speculation here but maybe wrong. Maybe once Maan's past is exposed & she finds out he is almost at par with her as far as his past is concerned she might loosen up a little. Don't know but I feel a lot for Geet as well, her plight she doesn't show that much but it doesn't mean she doesn't have any!! We have to put ourselves in her shoes to realise her POV!!
Next scene was a show stealer as well. Wow, what a 'Grihapravesh' that was!! I know about 'alta' in our bengali wedding but is it the same for Punjabi wedding as well?? Just wanted to know. And even Dadi said the same to them & I liked the scene! Specially her signalling Maan to put her down & his 'hmmm kya' was so so cute, so husband & wife like! π That is how it should be, eyes should speak more than words to each other in front of others. And I wish dadi had put her hand on Geet's head to bless her as well! Maybe when the right time comes!
And Maan asking her to call him by his name!! π He must be happy now, atleast he stopped her from leaving him & even if its fake he will use this opportunity to the fullest extent to try to mould her feelings about him & get to the bottom of why she is refusing him so blatantly! So Maan, from my side go man!! ππΌ
I am sure Dev & Geet meeting won't happen now, after they come back from HP being in love then only that twist will come. Its my take, maybe CV's might surprise us!! Lets see how they play it out.
Jyoti u r right, when the episode centers around only 2 people often viewers get bored to see the same person althroughout but here forget about being bored I wanted more of them. π Nissar, Gurmeet, Drashti, Barry Dhillon, the camera dept, lighting dept, everyone deserves big applaud! U r all creating a master piece!
My only request to u Nissar pls take it slow, I know I keep saying this but I want to enjoy this phase as long as possible. This is the best phase of any relationship, I want to enjoy & experience every moment without being rushed.
