Im treading on dangerous ground before I put these thoughts out...but I just wanted to open up *some* for the first time on this forum with my serious thoughts. not just being facetious, silly or poetry...
Maybe it's my take on thes two terms and i hate the fact that we use ONE of them in our society at large...
The two words "Rape" and "Illicit" I very humbly disagree with. I really wanted to put my thoughts across on this one just because I feel strongly about this... but do not mean to hurt or offend..
RAPE is a horrific crime that has torn apart the lives of many women, much more than Geet is going through right now even in the context of a serial. For a woman to be forced upon when she cries in agonizing pain pleading no or fighting no is just beyond anything this serial has shown...
Geet was NOT raped. Geet was duped by a decietful charmer, who USED her innocence... she believed then wholeheartedly he was her husband. She was taken ADVANTAGE of. She was betrayed, decieved ...but she was not drugged, not forced, not overpowered .... She could have said NO... She had the chance to not make that commitment with him. IF Dev still went after her saying NO... then I agree.
AND
NO CHILD , NO CHILD, NO CHILD can ever be illicit.
A child can be an orphan, unwanted, discarded, hated, but NOT ILLICIT. That word is just so UNFAIR, just meaningless. and above all in the contet of the serial, Geet is carrying a child she WANTS and LOVES. It's her CHILD...COULD never be illicit...
Why is any child illicit? Its the relation that is, Babies are as true and beautiful in any form or any way they make their way into our world.
