I am making a new topic today. Usually I am a silent reader of other's topics and concentrate on my own FF more'.. well forgetting everything else and jumping to my topic'.
I was writing the part for my FF when my mind actually raced in the scenes when Geet was wronged by Dev. Moving ahead with the story I never realized how much she had suffered until today. I actually searched for the crimes that Dev has committed according to Indian Constitution, and I was like such a stupid, idiot, fool, jerk, b*******,🤬🤬🤬
Sorry for the free hurling of abuses' I usually am a calm person but I sat down to write the crimes of Dev today:
1.Bigamy: Dev married Geet even while he had a wife that was living and not divorced her.
2.Dowry: He actually accepted the dowry given to him in the name of ceremonies and other events.
3.Fraud and Forgery: He took the land of Geet deceptively. It was a clear case of fraud when he got the property in his name.
4.Everything owned: It's actually illegal to use anything that belongs to bride's family, i.e. all the things that are brought by Bride at the time of marriage is her property.
5.Marital rape: I don't need to explain further'.
And for these crimes he can be put to jail, under different acts and sections of court, each section prescribing a new set of punishments'
1. He has violated The Hindu Marriage Act and The Foreign Marriage Act according to which one of the condition before marriage is "neither party has a spouse living at the time of the marriage".
2. He has defied The Dowry Prohibition Act according to which, "Traditional presents and other articles given at the time of the marriage are the individual property of the Hindu wife. She is the absolute owner of the property and can own it in her own right."
3. He has done fraud against her, which makes him a violator of Indian Penal Code Section420, that states:
| "Whoever cheats and thereby dishonestly induces the person deceived any property to any person, or to make, alter or destroy the whole or any part of a valuable security, or anything which is signed or sealed, and which is capable of being converted into a valuable security, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine."
4. He is also responsible for Marital Rape, as he already knew Geet wasn't ready for all this and he did everything out of Lust only. But according to Wikipedia: "In India, the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 (passed August 2005; entered into force October 2006) created a civil remedy for victims, but it did not criminalize marital rape, and jail time is only considered if a court order has been violated."
And all these violations means 5 to 7 years imprisonment and a penalty too.
No offences, to anyone' I am actually a student and I searcdhed the net for a god 2 hours to come to this conclusion. And after knowing it all I had to share it with everyone'.
Note: I have mentioned Dev only, but all his accomplices(NT, Pammi, Kamya) are also punishable'

Sorry, to ramble everything, and disturbing your thoughts out of Maaneet but I just felt like telling this to everyone' So that we may decide what punishment is best suitable for Dev and company.
