We all know him as the Ram of Sagar Production's new Ramayan which was aired on NDTV Imagine. In the show Gurmeet played Ram so well that he made a huge fan following after this show. Though playing Ram in this show was not easy as the image of Old Ram was still alive in the viewers' minds but still Gurmeet made his own place and impressed the viewers. He also won the 'Most Promising New Talent of Tomorrow' award for his role in this serial.
Though Gurmeet got recognized from Ramayan, but it was not his first show. Before this serial he had done a Tamil show- Mayavi where he played a negative role. His girlfriend Debina

Bannerjee was also a part of this Tamil show, she was the female lead. Then they did Ramayan together as the main leads. And then did a reality show too- Pati, Patni aur Woh
Gurmeet was interested in acting since a very young age. So he joined a theatre in Jabalpur when he was 18.
Then he won the title of 'Mr.Jabalpur' and also participated in "Mr. India" contest. He took up modeling, acted in few music videos and did small roles in many serials. He also did a small role in the movie KOI AAP SA, where he played a college friend to the actor Aftab Shiv-Dasani. Then he got the Tamil serial and his acting career began.
These days Gurmeet is playing the male lead in Star One's show- Geet Hui Sabse Parayi. In this show he is in an angry young man role which is totally opposite to his portrayal of Lord Ram in the previous show. His character's name is Maan Khurana. Maan likes to keep a distance from the outside world especially girls. Though Maan has a cold exterior but is very kind by heart; that is the reason, he is always there to help the female lead- Geet (played by Drashti Dhami) when she is in trouble. He says harsh words to her but always cares for her in his heart.
There is no doubt that Gurmeet Choudhary has again proved his worth as an actor with this new show. Now his fans know him as the Maan Khurana of "Geet'..". And there is no doubt that he is one of the popular TV actors on the small screen who has lots of fans.
