Open your heart
She finally answered his questions. He knew them, he had read her eyes but he wanted her to tell him and she designed the house exactly the way he had envisaged. Their home. He was going to turn the outhouse into their shrine of love. That is where fate had sent her and that is where he had found love and the taveez. He had voiced the foundation for love was to him, told her what love meant to him, he wanted to know love with her, he wanted her to show him for in their relation, she held the key that will unlock their passion.
He had found elation when he had overheard her rehearsing something that she wanted to tell him and he knew he wanted her to say them in a special setting. He had stopped her because he wanted the moment to be special; he wanted to make it special for her, for them. He did not know he was such a romantic but before Geet he did even know he was living.
And then as he had walked lazily to the bedroom to find out what had taken her so long, he had found what he could not have even dreamed of. Geet, looking coy yet sexy in that white dress that covered her but skimmed her figure like a second skin. He could not take his eyes off of her. He had been spell bound. He had wanted to devour her then, right then. And he had with his eyes. He had felt desire slice through him and he knew it showed in his eyes and he had looked down for the emotions were overwhelming him. He could not believe this girl would to these lengths to please him, his clients, to change for him but ultimately shyness had taken over and she could not come out in that outfit. And he understood that. He had moved the lacey curtains bellowing and playing hide and seek with his vision. And he had wanted to take in her beauty uninterrupted. He could not help himself and he stepped close enough to hear her breathing and touched her. He had touched her angelic face with the lightest of touch and saw her that she looked like a deer in front of headlights, confused and blinded but he could not stop himself from touching her just this much, he promised himself. "I won't give in to my desire. I won't step over the boundary, even though I am tempted to do what those eyes are beckoning me to do without even them knowing what they are saying," he reminded himself and he smiled looking down to dampen his desire but he peeked a look at her breasts, slightly heaving with her ragged breath.
And he had turned away leaving her to change so that he could go and prepare for the special moment he was anticipating later this evening.
He waited for her to come to the wedding. He saw her the minute she stepped into the church and if it were possible she looked even more beautiful than in that white dress. The Saree he now knew was his weakness where Geet's attire was concerned. If he was speechless around her seeing her in a Saree was like thousand voices speaking at the same time, clamoring his mind, his thoughts, his heart. He was lost, in her completely, she looked breath taking. He again felt emotion overcome him and he walked up behind her, touching her shoulder lightly as he came right behind her and he looked at her then with eyes that told her how much he loved her, the desire for her plain for anyone to see. He was not going to hold back tonight. Tonight was for them. Just them. But he had to take care of the wedding first.
Geet looked shy to him and put out to hold her hand with one hand and with the other he tilted her chin asking her silently to look into his eyes and then he took her near the altar to where the couple were ready to exchange their vows.
Geet sure did not know what was happening. It was the first time she was attending a Christian wedding and her role as a bridesmaid was not something she was aware of. She was glad that he was there to make her understand. He stood facing her as she stood at side lines wanting to understand before the wedding started what was going to happen and he had told her what was expected of her as a bridesmaid.
He had then held her hands in his and explained what the bride and groom will tell each other. He had said they said vows and she had frowned not understanding and then he had said "Vachan lete hain."
"Tumhein kaise pata hoga," he started and before she could stop him he had continued, "Ki mein sab ke samne, bhagwaan ke samne, tumhein apni dharampatni maanta hoon. Is angoothi mein uss pyar ki nishani ke roop mein pehnata hoon," this he did holding her ring that he had put on her finger, "jo mere pyar ki tarah atoot hai. ye hamein sada bandhke rakhega, maut bhi hamare pyar ko khatam nahi kar sakti. Mein tumhara sukh dukh har haal mein saath nibhaoonga. Tumhara bharan poshan karoonga. Mein sirf tumse aur tumse pyar karoonga, hamesha ke liye."
"Phir tumhein kehna hai" he said further and she asked bewildered, "kya?" but he misunderstood and softly added, "jo meine abhi kaha, Geet, tumhein wahi kehna hai."
Geet embarrassed blushed and tried to run from him but he held onto her hand and said, "bolo na Geet, tum yahi kehna chahti thi na thori der pehle, office mein?"
Geet sobbed a "No" and finally extricated her hands from his and ran outside. Maan ran after her but just then Mr D'Mello came towards him asking him to come up front as they waited for their brides to come.
Geet had almost reached the doors when Mrs D'Mello had chosen that moment to walk in resplendent in the brides dress and ready to walk down the aisle and she hustled Geet into holding her train and walk right behind her.
As Geet walked behind her, she had eyes only for Maan who was gazing at her. She tried to pry her eyes away but they were drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she knew she will burn up in the desire she saw there but she could not help but walk to him.
As the Bride and Groom took their vows, she was in a haze only remembering Maan saying those words to her of how he seemed to have wed her just then and he only was looking at her to confirm to him that she felt the same way. But how could she say that. How could she tell him that she loved him, wanted to spend her life with him, will cherish him, and be with him in sickness and in health when all she knew was that she had to tell him the truth, the truth that will tear them apart. For how can a man want to wed a woman who was tainted, who was not unblemished, who was not worthy of him? How does a man accept another man's child, another man responsibility?
But she had to tell him tonight before it was too late, too late to tell him. Before he said anything about their relationship, she had to tell him. She firmed herself up, for the pain that will eventually come with him knowing the truth but this was not about her, it was about him. She had to tell him.
She pleaded with her eyes for them to go a place where they are alone, but the party had started in full swing and everyone seemed to want to talk to Maan and congratulate him on the design they had made.
Maan was frustrated. He had wanted to hear her say the words he was dying to hear, words that he had seen in her eyes even now, she was pleading him to take her away from this crowd. He wished he could just whisk her away from here so that they could be alone, once again.
Maan finally found her standing alone just outside the canopy little away from the revelry going on inside and he could not help but stand right behind her and push her hair on one side and kiss the curve of her shoulder up to her neck. And he felt her start but she did not move away, rather her head fell to one side, giving him more access and he put his arms around her gathering her in his arms and tilting his head back as emotions, strong and pure engulfed him and he closed his eyes to let the wave wash over him, them and let the moonlight bathe them in a hue that shone and showed them the way forward.
Geet seemed to come to her senses when he turned her slowly towards him and asked in a whisper, "what were you thinking Geet, why did you run away earlier?"
"Tell me what you feel, Geet, tell me what I see in your eyes, Open your heart to me." He beckoned her to admit.
Geet opened her mouth but she did not know what to do, so she just blurted, "I don't feel anything for you. This is all wrong, let me go," she tried to pull her hands from him but this time he was not letting her go.
Maan shook his head, "You are lying. Tell me why you wore that dress, tell me Geet. It was for me Geet, you did that for me. I know it and you know it. I know what you feel, why don't you say it. What are you running from, why are you running from what we have?" he asked in frustration and pain.
Geet almost broke then, she caught a sob in her throat as she replied, "Because I know this is wrong, I am not for you. I am not worthy of you. Maan please."
But Maan was beyond giving in and he pushed her to reply, "Pyar mein ye paisa kaise aa gaya Geet. Aaj hi tumne kaha tha pyar ke maiyne kya hai aur ab tum hi mukkar rahi ho? kyon Geet, aissi kya baat hai jisse tum bhag rahi ho?"
Geet then blurts out almost shouts, "kyon ki mein, maa banne waali hoon. Ek bin byahi Maa, samjhe aap?"
Maan lets go of her hands then and she takes the opportunity to turn and run and Maan stands there as if turning to statue, stockstill. His world had just crumbled to dust. Geet could not be telling the truth. She could not be. And all he remembered then was his outstretched arm silently calling out to her.
Open your heart - Madonna
Watch out!
I see you on the street and you walk on by
You make me wanna hang my head down and cry
If you gave me half the chance you'd see
My desire burning inside of me
But you choose to look the other way
I've had to work much harder than this
For something I want don't try to resist me
Open your heart to me, baby
I'll hold the lock and you hold the key
Open your heart to me, darlin'
I'll give you love if you, you turn the key
I think that you're afraid to look in my eyes (oh baby)
You look a little sad boy, I wonder why
I follow you around but you can't see
You're too wrapped up in yourself to notice
So you choose to look the other way
Well, I've got something to say
Don't try to run I can keep up with you
Nothing can stop me from tryin', you've got to
Open your heart to me, baby
I'll hold the lock and you hold the key
Open your heart to me, darlin'
I'll give you love if you, you turn the key
Open your heart with the key
One is such a lonely number
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Open your heart, I'll make you love me
It's not that hard, if you just turn the key
Don't try to run I can keep up with you
Nothing can stop me from tryin', you've got to
Open your heart to me, baby
I'll hold the lock and you hold the key
Open your heart to me, darlin'
I'll give you love if you, you turn the key
Open your heart with the key
Open your heart, I'll make you love me
It's not that hard, if you just turn the key
