Dev shares his favourites

STAR One's no1 show Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi's villain Dev is an urban young guy who impresses everyone with his charm and good looks. He is insensitive and doesn't care about anyone when it comes to achieving his objective. We asked him for some of his favourites:

More on Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi : Discuss here | Watch full episodes | Official Website

Favourite villain: I liked Mahesh Manjerakar as Inspector Talpade in Salman Khan's Wanted. Here he depicted the true policemen. I really loved his style of acting. Then in Hollywood it's Jack Nicholson's role as Frank Costello, boss of the Boston Irish mob in The Departed.

Favourite dialogue from a villain: Right now, I really can't remember but now I just remember one dialogue of a villain in which the heroine tries to seduce him and in return he says "I must be easy but I am not sleazy…"

Do you think women like bad men: Actually it depends on person to person. There are women who are okay with one-night stands and short term relationships. For them, the bad boy is the best, as they can relate to them.

The worst thing he has done to a person: Until now, I haven't done anything bad to Maan, my brother. I am just teasing him about his relationship with his secretary.

When we called Dev, he was busy cooking, something he loves a lot. Despite his busy schedule, he still manages to get time to put together some delicious dishes. He talks about his favourite dishes and much more.

Favourite dish: All types of dal especially Masur ki dal which is nutrious as well as easy to make it. I also like paneer curry.

What do you cook the best? Paneer curry. It is easy to make and all my friends love it.

Favourite restaurant: It has to be Mainland China. I like delicious Crackling Spinach. I love the taste of this dish. It has a unique flavour.

One spice/flavour you absolutely love: I can't stay without capsicum and garlic because for me I consider capsicum as the queen of vegetables and it can be incorporated in any sabzis easily. I also like the taste of garlic and it creates different flavour altogether.

Favourite cuisine: I love Thai cuisine especially Thai Veg Green Curry. The first time I tested at The Grand Hotel in New Delhi.

Favourite famous chef: I don't have any favourite chef as I don't follow anyone's cooking style. I like experimenting with my food.

If you had to start a restaurant, what would you call it? I will call it 'Something Fishy' if it's in Mumbai and in Punjab the appropriate name would be Punjabi Tadka

Dev loves going on treks and heads out on one whenever he gets free. We got him talking about his favourite getaways:

Favourite weekend getaway: As of now its Western Ghat, Pavna lake, Lonavala and Rajmachi fort of Shivaji. The main thing I love about this place is its topography. When I lived in Punjab, I loved trekking in the Himalayas

Favourite international holiday: I haven't gone on an international holiday but if I got a chance then I would definitely explore the wildlife of South Africa.

Favourite trekking destination: Again it has to be Western Ghats, which is in appropriate trekking destination. It's a wonderful place. There is so much of greenery that one falls in love with this place.

One thing you always take with you on a trek: Torch is a must and I do carry a stove, tent, knife and a tool kit.

Dev, who dreams of being a successful business like his brother, Maan, shares some more of his favourites:

Favourite entrepreneur: I think Ratan Tata because he is extremely ethical

Favourite rags to riches real life story: Dire Straits, the British rock band were not always a huge success. They would play in clubs to earn a living. But then the success of their single Sultans of Swing suddenly made them a household name. They are one of my favourite bands

One business he would love to start: I want to design gym equipment

Most innovative business idea in recent times: I think there was one Gujrati fellow who name his windmill factory Suzlon is a leading wind power company spread across worldwide.

Favourite business magazine/paper: I don't read business magazines at all.

In the show, Dev notices his big brother, Maan immersed in thoughts about his secretary, and teases him. His wife, Naintara, on the other hand, is urging him to talk to Maan about joining his business.
