Chapter 2

Nargis had come to the conclusion as she walked the long never ending corridors of Charles de gaule airport that this is the most harrowing airport to walk in. The esclators did not help and her legs were aching in the 3 inch heels that she had worn today. Thank God she was only carrying a small handbag and laptop in one. She liked to reach early and relax in the lounge which is what she had done for last hour before the flight was announce and now as she finished the boaring formalities and made herself comfortable in the business class seat of AirFrance. She picked out a magazine from pocket in the seat in front, sipping the orange juice the hostess had just served, crossed her legs and started leafing through the magazine..when she heard a voice saying'

You did buy the scarf finally! Ha I knew it. You were just playing hard to get! Vicky Spoke bending near her and sat in the seat next to her. So sweetheart! I am Vicky! And I am glad I took this flight. he flirted as he proffered his hand to Nargis.

Nargis darted a surprised glance at the voice and found the same obnoxious face she had seen in the hotel yesterday.

Without saying anything or taking the hand he had offered, Nargis touched the scarf she was wearing that yes he had approved of. She had gone back in after he had gone and had picked up the scarf as a second thought. This morning while finishing her packing and taking the skirt suit to wear with a pista green silk blouse and the bottle green and gold scarf that matched and brought out the highlights in her green eyes. She had been compelled to wear it while she was getting dressed and had run a hand on the smooth silky feel of the scarf.

Vicky took his hand back with a shrug and settled himself in the seat, buckled up and again he leaned towards her across the armrest to say. It even looks better up close! The green in the scarf matches your eyes. Where are you from? He had a faint American Accent in the English and Nargis thought oh he is not French!

Nargis sighed to herself and decided to face this as it was a 7 hour flight to New York and she guessed it would rude to ignore him completely.

She turns slightly in her seat towards him, gives her best lawyer smile and says" I really am not interested Vicky! And I am not your sweetheart! I hope you are not going to harass me for the duration of the flight because I am planning on getting some work done and would not like to be disturbed." and turns away and looks out the window.

Nargis sees, with the corner of her eyes, him put his head back and laugh out loud, clap his hand and mutter Damn but I am going to have fun! And seethes silently continuing to look out the window.

Just then the safety announcements and video started and she paid cursory attention to it as was mandatory to do so. As they finished, and the plane taxied to the run way to take off, Vicky again leaned across and said..Zeno ( after the Greek philosopher, founder of Stoic school of philosophy), I understand, you want to remain all calm and collected but feel free to hold my hand..if you are scared smiling his flirtatious best and looking at her with eyes that said come hither and offered his hand, palm up to Nargis.

Nargis, slowly turned not liking the name Zeno this totally infurating man had given her. Who did he think he was calling her Zeno. Okay so she did not display emotions or had excellent self control but that did not mean this man could call her anything he liked. She just glared at him with eyes that said don't mess with me! Looked at the hand as if it had thorns on them and turned back in her seat, sat up straight and looked ahead.

Vicky it seemed did not take no for an answer and said if you keep sitting like that for the rest of the flight, you are going to have one hell of a back ache.

Nargis finally losing her cool, turned sharply towards him with finger pointed in his face that was almost a kissing distance away and hissed. Look! And he smiled as if to say I am and she almost forgot what she was going to say and continued I want to really get some work done without you breathing down my neck and I would appreciate it if you left me alone. You see your Don Juan tactics wont work on me so save it for someone who would appreciate it like the one you were with last night! It must have cost you a lot that gift you bought for her!

Nargis slapped herself mentally for revealing so much. Oh she had not meant to let on that she had noticed him buy an expensive bracelet at the shop and seen him give the gift to the girl he had kissed in the bar. Oh why did she have to remember all these things she wondered and almost slumped back in her seat.

Vicky knowing when he had scored, immediately pounced on her words saying OH! So you could not keep your eyes off me as well! Hey sweetheart! The feelings mutual. Now if you stop being so stubborn and relax we can probably enjoy this flight to the fullest with merriment dancing in his eyes. Let me start again. I am Vicky, going to New York on business and you? Offering his hand for the third time.

Nargis finally thinking, this man is not going to give up and it was easy to call a temporary truce and was not into insulting people and this was the third time he had offered his hand so put her hand in his, felt an electricity run as from where their hands joined to every cell in her body and felt her stomach dip and as if the plane had tipped on the side when she realized that just exactly that had happened and found everyone looking around each other as the plane seemed to first lurch then dip and then tilt on one side and other and everyone gave a collective OH! As the plane seemed to keep going down for a few seconds.

Nargis now scared out of her wits gripped Vicky's hand hard and he gave a slight pressure as if to say I am there, She looked at him and he was not smiling anymore but looking concerned at her, and surprisingly for her. He said over the noise of the plane and other peoples whispers Don't worry! Stay Calm! Everything will be fine Zeno! Giving her a small smile of encouragement. Just then the plane seemed to go up and she again felt her stomach lurch in the opposite direction and closed her eyes tight and gripped harder on Vicky's hand if that were possible. In few seconds, the plane seemed to right itself and all seemed to be fine and she could hear people's collective sighs over the Captain's voice which said that they would have to return to Airport as some technical problem had come up in the engine and they were talking with ATC to get landing permission. She still had her eyes closed and was gripping hard on his hand when she felt his other hand on her back as if to soothe.

She immediately had her eyes open and looked at him and he looked so anxious for her well being. She almost thought, this Joker could actually have these emotions? And then again lost that train as Captain announced that the they will have to burn some fuel before they can land as the flight has too much fuel to land safely, so they are going to circle over Europe for two hours and land. So they should sit back and relax and some refreshments will be served in the meantime. They don't think too much is wrong but because it is a trans- Atlantic flight they have to take this precaution and head back.

Nargis sighed as well but still had her hand gripping Vicky's tightly when he came close to her ears and whispered. I would love to hold this hand but after all the protests you had made don't you think this is a bit fast? Hearing this Nargis jerks her head towards him and finds his face inch from hers with lips so close that she could feel his breath. She gets lost in the amusing eyes that were dancing with laughter, looks the the hands still joined, slowly releases it, coughs, shuffles in her seat uncomfortably and says Sorry!

Vicky smiles and winks at her as if to say..i am not!

Nargis ki vaat laga di Vicky ne!😆 Kyun Nargis you were laughing at me on my 1st encounter with Maan. Ab tumhare upar kya kahoon? 😆 You were eyeing him from the first meeting when he was buying the bracelet!😆 Tum bhi badi chhupi rustam nikli Nargis rani! Kya haath pakde huye thi!🤣

@ Vrushali: Do include something where Vicky sees Maan hugging a girl in his cabin, but is unable to see the girl due to the blinds, and later when Vicky flirts with Abolee, Maan in pure jealousy tells him not to flirt with his future bhabhi! Aur Vicky ka muh khula khula hi reh jaata hai!🤣

Vrusahli.....great update as always...and yaar Vicky comes on strong....its annoying...no wownder I was annoyed.....😕 But as I started to read the update...and read the part about Baording...and Vicky having a seat next to me...I knew right away that ther ewould be a turbulence type scene....and I would end up holding on to Vick's hand.....hehehehehehehe....and lol...that is exactly what happened!!! So Mr. Vicky has one up on me ....hmmmmmm..koi baat nahi....aagey aagey dekhte haon hota hain kya....Can't wait to get one up on him!!!😆

Abs...I can't help it..I am just super observant....you know I pick up on the details rather fast....a trick of the trade...you know!!! Aur Haat ki baat...that was purely instinctual....no other meanings attached...ok!!!😉

hi i will include about abolee and maan..it will be interesting. there is still the introduction of these two..left for now...vicky does not know..Zeno yet now..does he?

i did want to bring out that vicky was more than...wink and playfulness, it is always in a sticky situation that one comes to know what a man is made of...
dont forget he is Maan's brother, basic respect for women should be there...playing around is not a flaw it is a mutually agreed upon interaction that women and men know and indulge in but men can do so without emotions, women have a difficult time and that's why they end up more heart broken than men.

So far, I guess neither of them realize that the other person is Indian! Imagine Vicky answering back to Nargis' mumbling in Hindi! Nargis ki phir se vaat laga dega woh! 😆

And so nice how Vicky is concerned, though he doesn't show as much!

Khurana men have this issue with displaying their true emotions!
