Same happened to me, I once watched a recipe on youtube and made a special masala meant to be added in the curry once it's done..Curry was looking good but I didn't read instructions and added entire masala to it..(Like in case of some IF games I always read instructions too fast everywhere šŸ˜‡) But I was only supposed to add like few teaspoons and the dish was ruined big time ..

Also once I tried making Gulab Jamun and while frying it ..It somehow blasted and burst everywhere no idea why šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø..I had to shield myself with a steel plate to make sure I didn't get hurt and finally I managed to make it and surprisingly it tasted good but the entire kitchen was a huge mess and my family had to clean it coz I was exhausted after all the cooking..šŸ˜ŒšŸ˜‚

You are rightšŸ‘ hard worked shouldn't be wasted...I made Namak pade in my sasural it was overly fried ( almost burnt) still they had to finish it..I also made them eat half cooked gajar ka halwasmiley37.

Never tried gulaab jamun...A few reels scared me a big time..now my cooking skills has improved smiley36.

We all make small mistakes when we cook and that's fine that's how we learn it..It's nice again you made sure they ate the halwa though half cooked..I also do that even if the dish is almost a disaster people here have to eat atleast some of itsmiley36

I once made a cake around Xmas it was supposed to have pretty patterns and had to make two batters for two layers..Slightly complicated but I messed up the layers then on a long break from baking since I got annoyed smiley36

I always hated cooking before my marriage. Jaise taise karke mom taught me basic daal chawal roti sabzi banana. Then during the lockdown I somehow developed interest in cooking. During that time I experimented with lot of dishes and almost all of them were sheer failures. One thing I would say is if you watch any recipe video on YouTube they always make it look like the dish is easiest to make šŸ˜† and I always used to carried away by them šŸ˜ but when I started cooking I realized they were not as easy as they looked in the video. šŸ˜‚

I tried to cook Biryani, stuffed parathas, pizza and many other recipes and realized one needs lot of practice to make them. My Biryani was terrible in taste as well as texture. When I mixed the orange color with water and put it on Biryani it somehow spread all over the dish and my whole Biryani looked orange šŸ˜‚ and the taste was 🤮. My husband said, if you want to eat Biryani we'll order it from restaurant but kabhi galti se bhi ghar pe banane ke baare mein sochna bhi mat. šŸ˜‚ Even the aloo paratha and gobi paratha recipes look easy but the most challenging part is rolling the parathas with the filling. I decided that I am not gonna get fooled by the youtube recipe pages ever after. 🤣

You caƱ keep the dough after filling in the refrigerator for few minutes before rolling...it will soak the excess water and also make the dough a little hard...I tried this method a few times.

For biriyani always prefer to cook the rice separately a man says billkul ricks nai lene ka in a roomsmiley37
