I had no doubts about fandoms cos Akshit's fans are very less and Zain has a much stronger fandom so I knew they would show Zain as the hero, which I feel is a bit unfair. It would be better if they let Zain be the grey character like Jennifer's Maya in Beyhadh. I think only Ek Haseena Thi of Star Plus carried that obsessive lover track the best.

But that's the thing na. They already have a story. It's better for them to stick to the storyline instead of changing story for sake of trps.

I mean we never know Paakhi goes with the third person in the end 🤷

Not necessarily with Aagastya or Ishaan. 😛

That I agree completely. I just hoped they didn't make this another love story after promising us an out of the box thriller.

You chose the wrong franchise then. This is one franchise that shows all sorts of dark stuff. IMMJ 2 was still mild. In season 1, people were going around murdering people so casually and it was shown as normal.

I have no issues with dark stuff. In fact I like those series with dark vibes, but maza tab aati h jab dono leads hi equally dark hon. I would've liked if Paakhi also had some darkness within her but yahaan madam bina 'universe' ki intervention ke kucch kar hi nahi paati hain.

Different people have different opinions with regards to the shows be it of any genre rom-com/Thriller or Saas-Bahu Sagas.SRK was perhaps the first proper trendsetter for Grey-shaded characters with his role in Baazigar & Anjaam.

I have read the different opinions on this topic and I do agree with some of the points if not all of the points mentioned regarding this Topic.

I don't think there could be an overdose of reality on fictional shows every time otherwise it won't remain a fiction show whether its with regards to Damsel-in-Distress or Grey shaped Heroes. However the execution of the plot needs to have a semblance of logic and the proper balance of the chemistry with regards to the lead pairs.

I have watched shows of Zain before like EBSS & I did like the grey shades of Pooja but her mellowed-down avatar was no doubt a big letdown. The mistake the CV's did there was casting Shrenu as Zayn's sis-in-law rather she should have been paired with Zayn rather than that Dhruv and that's what the viewers wanted in the first place right from the beginning of the series.

With regards to the Grey female characters like Maya or Durga both of these roles were appreciated.Infact Behadh had the second season though it ended abruptly.

Yes the constant portrayals of being Damsel-in-Distress becomes irritating after a certain point & that's where the CV's need to make drastic changes in their scripts.Today's women need to be shown as Independent and standing up for their rights.

Regarding the Naagins Bani's display of grey-shades were a classic example of beauty without brains. She was independent and feisty yet could never see through Jay's sinister designs. Had the amnesia track not been introduced then N5 wouldn't have got tanked in the first place. Her rude manner with Veer became irritating after a certain point.

Getting back to IMMJ I feel S2 was much better than S1.Yes I liked the characters of Arohi/Tara and Deep but rather than pairing them as Twin sisters the stupid Plastic Surgery revamp track was introduced & Deep became a totally negative character rather than being a grey-shader.From there onwards it was totally downhill for the show.

Deep's pathetic excuse for betraying Arohi was his hidden Majboori.

Tara was dark emo and all that but could not get out of her Deep-bhakti mindset who finished her own family using Arohi's revenge as the pawn to take full control of the Raichand Mansion later Vasundhara Mansion.Does the surname Raichand ring any bells? Agastya & Deep both share the common surname.

Arohi was calculative during the first season but in the second season she was transformed into a seductive Dancer with flop revenge plans against Deep.Inspite of multiple betrayals she continued to go to that Deep.

Vansh's character was introduced in a big way as the Big-Shot Mafia but his presentation faltered as the series continued. He got hoodwinked by the gullible Ridzi.Even Kabir was shown as much more sharper and smarter than him.

The CV's did rectify Vansh's character to a larger extent during that Vyom track in the second season where he was shown as much more resourceful but by then it was too late.Ridzi underwent a similar transformation as some sassy heroine with trendier outfits but the impact was short-lived.

Pakhi's character needs some more versatility & depth where she would be able to display a wide range of emotions- from being feisty to being the ideal made for Agastya standing shoulder to shoulder with him rather than being only Mrs. Raichand.

Pakhi should be shown as being stand up for herself & using the grey cells within her brain rather than being too gullible about certain Universe huh.

Very well put. I think Durga was one of the best ITV characters I've seen and so was Sakshi Goenka. I mean these too ladies...what a class, elegance and sophistication they radiated. I don't know why ITV which is known for following formula of the previously successful shows didn't try something like Ek Haseena Thi again. In Sarvaguna Sampanna, if they had shown Shrenu paied opposite to Zayn from the beginning itself, there coming together later wouldn't leave such a bad taste. Naagin's Bani...I plodded through that show just because of Sharad's Veeranshu and then I promised myself I would never see that franchise again.

I stopped watching IMMJ1 after Arohi's plastic surgery. It became super stupid after that. In IMMJ2, I liked only the Vyom track. Right now, it feels like, everytime it's Agasthya who pulls the strings and saves Pakhi at every occasion. Normally in thrillers, women are seldom shown as weak or naive. And I'd have liked if this time in IMMJ3, they explore the femme fatale trope being Fanaa as a thriller because it is the only show where this can happen otherwise we are already used to perfect, too good to be true heroines in daily soaps.

Arjun and Alisha were fab. Alisha as Tara was the best thing about the show.

I couldn't enjoy S2 so didn't watch it more 5 or 6 episodes. I liked Helly in her previous shows but not in this one. Rrahul I kinda find him wooden face. So that season was not watchable for me.

Zain is a good actor so I hope we will see the layers of the character soon. He can surprise us. The overly nice guy is giving me diabetes for now. 😆

The other guy is definitely gonna show his true color soon. 😆

Zain tends to rock in a crazy negative role more than positive roles. So I think he will impress when negative shades of his character are shown rather than anything else.

Reem looks like a child in front of zain, and that is the issue. Young actresses like reem are being given characters that they are too young to be playing.

But her crying face and wide eyed expression in IMMJ2 got on my nerves. For Pakhi, I always root for anti-heroines or heroines who learn the rules of the game to fight back. But I don't have any hopes. The previous show from the production literally had Zain's character marry his sister-in-law who killed his father and it was not for revenge, it was to bring out the innocent girl buried inside the woman who killed his father, give his mother medicines to disturb mental balance and was married to his brother. I mean how can a man, that too a protagonist marry his sister in law and father's murderer.

Not to mention that in a way it was a betrayal to his own brother to marry the woman who betrayed his brother because she only married his brother to get into the family and his brother was in love with her. That show made no sense to me with that twist.

I remember when I was 12, there was an almost maniac craze for Dharti ka Veer Yoddha Prithviraj Chauhan and literally most girls of my class including me crushed hard on that guy but we were sensible enough to separate reality from fiction.

That show by the same pH was really weird. Like however one's father is evil, but how can one marry their father's murderer? And not just father, the female lead in that gave wrong medicines to even ml's mother to disturb her mental balance.. sab maaf?

Yeah shrenu fans kept claiming tanvi was terrible or had no chemistry with zain (even though the makers never even built up a proper bond between their two characters as max screen time was on shrenu's character's plotting and zain's character's scenes with his onscreen father). The show just didn't build on the main premise it had promoted in the promos that strongly in the episodes. Yet shrenu fans instead chose to blame tanvi for it and they demanded zain-shrenu pairing, only for that to flop badly because the story got even worse just to make their pairing happen.

OMG another prc/ rajat fan. I literally watched that show online so many times. He was one of my first ever crushes as a teen.
