What happened the next few minutes seemed to change everything. The bullet was headed towards the minister but it misses the target the first time as Abhimanyu pushed the minister away before the bullet hit either of them.

The remaining terrorists; 7 of them began firing at the stage. Everyone screams in panic and begins to run everywhere. Yudi, Aalekh, Naina, Pooja, Gunny and Abhiamnyu whip out their guns and begin firing at the terrorists. Ali and Neelu come out of their hiding places and try to kill the 3 terrorists that were still upstairs. Huda leaves hi hiding place and manages to reach the stage to help the others.

Shalini and Roma were trying to help the officers and ministers to exit the academy without creating a stampede. Sherry and Sameera were shielded from the terrorists aim by Suriji and Brigadier Chandok who led them offstage and towards the infirmary where they would be safe. The terrorist who had shot the bullet aimed at the minister decided to try again and knew this time his aim wouldn't fail. Abhimanyu was distracted by one of the terrorists who had managed to reach near the stage. The leader took aim and fired once more.

A few seconds before the leader of the terrorists fired once more at the minister; two of his followers who had laser guns had aimed their shots at two people who were likely to be vulnerable; Naina and Sameera. Naina had gotten separated from Rajveer and Aalekh and was firing at a terrorist on the upper floor. Sameera had left Sherry in the infirmary and had come to see if her father was safe. Neither of them were aware that they had laser beams aimed at them until...

"Naina, Sameera, look out…" Yudi shouted.

The two girls turned around to see the laser guns aimed at them and then fired.

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

Hey sorry everyone... my net was down since 5-6 hours so i couldn't update earlier... i'm continuing it right now...

Three shots were fired. One was aimed at the minister, one at Naina and one at Sameera. The next few seconds seemed to have stretched into slow motion… Rajveer, Gunny, Abhimanyu and Navin all rush towards the three targeted victims before the bullet reached them.

Abhimanyu pushes the minister out of the way, but is too late. The bullet pierces through the minister and hits him in the chest, but thanks to the bullet-proof vest nothing happens to the minister as he is just knocked backwards due to the force of the gunshot.

But the other two bullets find a target. Naina and Sameera find themselves being pushed out of the way by Gunny, Rajveer and Navin and the two bullets that were meant for them hit two of the three in the arm and leg. Naina and Sameera scream as they see the two knocked out officer's fall down unconscious.

"RRRAAAAAJJJJ!!!!!!!!!" Naina screams.


Naina runs over to Rajveer and hugs him tightly unaware that he had gotten a bruise or two on his arm while pushing her out of the way.

"Naina, main theek hoon. Mujhe kuch nahi hua hai…"

"Raj…" Naina's voice falters as she turns around and sees Sameera slouched on the floor besides the two people who got hurt while trying to save them.

"Oh no….. Navin…." Naina whispers.

She staggers a bit as she gets up and walks over to Sameera who was sobbing. Navin and Gunny were lying unconscious on the floor; one bullet had grazed Navin's left arm and had missed piercing him. The bullet was lying a few feet behind his body. Gunny was not that lucky. The bullet had pierced through his right leg but had not gone in too deep.

Dr. Shalini comes there with her medical kit and stethoscope. She quickly takes a look at the unconscious officer's wounds and their heartbeats before she speaks.

"Relax everyone, Navin ko kuch nahi hoga... usse bahut choti zakhm hua hai..."

"Ma'am... Gunny..." Sameera asks, her voice shaking.

"Gunny ko abhi is waqt army hospital le jaana hoga, whaan par hi uske leg se goli ko nikal paayenge... usse kaafi chot aaya hai... but i am sure ki woh bhi theek ho jaayega..."

And so, about 10 miniutes later; Naina, Sherry, Pooja, Yudi and Abhimanyu were seen with Shalini entering the ambulance along with Navin and Gunny who were still unconscious. As for the minister, no one knew that he was still alive. He had been rushed to a hospital by his guards the minute he was shot. Of course Rajveer, Sameera and the others knew that he had the bullet-proof vest under him and that he was perfectly safe. But according to the plan; they had to announce to the press that his condition was critical.

Rajveer went inside the academy where all the ministers and officers were assembled along with Brigadier Chandok who looked a bit shaken up even after he knew that the attack was coming.

"Sir…"

"Major Shekhawat… yahaan par kya hua? Aur Dr. Shalini kahan gayi hai?"

"Sir, baat yeh hai ki jab hum ladh rahe the uss waqt Lt. Alhuwalia aur Sameera par do terrorists ka nishaana tha… un dono ko bachate samay; Major Randhawa aur Major Alhuwalia ko goli lag gaye… isliye Dr. Shalini ne unhe army hospital le gayi hai…"

"Aur kya Mr. Shroff theek hai?"

"Yes sir, mantriji ko sirf aaram ki zaroorat hai…lekin sir, humein press se kehna hoga ki unki halaat critical hai; taaki jo terrorists ne iss plan ko banaya hai; unhe lage ki mantriji ab zinda rehne waala nahi hai…"

"I understand Major. Par iss baat ko hum abhi press mein nahi bata sakte hai; aap iss waqt apne doston se milne jaa rahe ho?"

"Haan, magar sir… agar aapko academy mein help chahiye toh hum mein se koi ruk sakta hai…"

"No Major, it's an order. Aap sab abhi aur isi waqt apne colleagues se milne jaoge… yahan par main sab sambhal loonga. Ek-do ghante mein aap mujhe phone karenge aur mantriji ki haal bataayenge… aur tab main apna statement media ko dunga… you may leave now." B.C said.

"Sir."

Rajveer saluted and left the brigadier to handle the situation at the academy. He went upstairs to the mess where everyone was sitting looking glum. He sat down besides Aalekh and spoke to all of them.

"Maine B.C se baat ki hai; aur unke orders hai ki hum sab abhi hospital ke liye nikal jaaye…"

"Lekin sir, kya Brigadier ko yahaan par kisi ki madad nahi chahiye?" Ali asked.

"Nahi Ali, Brigadier ne khud kaha hai ki humein iss waqt Navin aur Gunny ke paas jaana chahiye…"

"Aur dad? Woh theek toh hai, sir?" Sameera asked.

"Haan Sameera, tumhaare dad bilkul theek hai; bas hospital mein rest kar rahe hai…"

"Well then, let's go sir. Humein chalna chahiye; phoolan, gulabo, punjaban aur yudiye Abhimanyu sir ke saath hai. Agar hum abhi nikal jaaye toh jald pahunchenge…" Huda said.

"Yes Huda, hum abhi… ek minute… yeh gulabo kaun hai?" Rajveer asked Huda.

"Err… sir, woh…" Huda stuttered.

"Sir, Huda ne aapki behen ka naam gulabo rakha hai… ab saala kehne se darr raha hai…" Aalekh spoke up.

"Oye kaidi… yeh jatt kisi se nahi darta hai… ab chal…"

Before Rajveer could say anything to Huda, he got up and left. Roma, Aalekh, Neelu, Sameera and Ali too got up. Taking a deep breath, Rajveer made a mental note to talk to Huda about Sherry once everything was a bit better. Together, the seven of them left KMA in their jeep and headed for the army hospital.

At the army hospital, Naina, Sherry, Yudi, Pooja and Abhimanyu were seated in the waiting room. It had been half an hour since they had arrived at the hospital. Dr. Shalini had taken charge of attending to Navin while Gunny was sent into the Operation Theatre. Naina had been sitting in a corner of the room, thinking. Pooja and Yudi were talking to Abhimanyu about Gunny and Sherry, well… Sherry decided to talk to Naina. After all, she was slightly confused. When she had left for America, Navin had supposedly died. Sherry walked over to where Naina was and sat next to her.

"Naina…"

"Oh, haan Sherry? Is everything okay?"

"Yea… main tumse bas kuch baat karna chahti thi…"

"Haan bolo…"

"Umm, yeh thoda sa weird hoga, but mujhe pata nahi tha ki Navin zinda tha; I mean jab main U.S.A gayi, mujhe bhaiyya ne bataya tha ki unki maut ho gayi thi… then how…?"

"Mujhe bhi laga tha ki Navin ne mujhe chodke chala gaya tha… lekin kuch din pehle, jab tum yahan nahi thi; meri shaadi hone waali thi…"

"Kya?? Par Naina, I thought ki tum bhaiyya se pyaar karti ho…"

"Sherry uss waqt Raj, Navin ke saath tha; hum sabko laga ki accident mein Raj ki jaan bhi chali gayi thi; lekin jab meri sagai ho rahi thi, tab Navin ne achanak aake mujhe bacha liya; aur phir main bhaiyya ke saath Raj se milne gayi…"

"Oh… toh iska matlab hai ki tumhaare bhaiyya aur mere bhaiyya dono ne jaanbooj kar apni accidents karwa liye?"

"Haan, taaki woh Lala Gehlot ko jail bhej sake…"

"Hmm… woh mere father jaise the… Lala Gehlot. Raj aur mere godfather the… lekin usse sirf Raj se pyaar tha, woh toh kabhi mujhe ek beti ke tarah dekha hi nahi… isliye, shayad Raj ne mujhe ek bhaai ka pyaar kam aur ek pita ka pyaar zyada diya…"

"Woh tumhaare baare mein bahut baatein karta hai, Sherry. Tumse bahut bahut pyaar karte hai."

"Jaanti hoon. Raj ke siway mera aur koi hai bhi nahi iss duniya mein. Pata hai Naina, jab main badi ho rahi thi aur Raj mujhe ek beti ke tarah maante the, uss waqt Navin, Abhi aur Gunny ne mujhe bhaai ka pyaar diya. Unke wajah se main ek beti aur behen ban gayi…"

"Waise tum bahut der ke liye akele rehne waali nahi ho."

"Kya matlab? Kahin bhaiyya ne…?"

"Bhaiyya ne kya?" Naina asked Sherry with a small smile.

Before Sherry could say what she thought, Dr. Shalini came inside the waiting room, eyes falling directly on Naina.

"Dr. Shalini, kya hua?" Pooja asked.

"Naina… Navin ko hosh aa gaya hai, he wants to meet you." Shalini told Naina.

"Kya… kya woh theek hai, ma'am?"

"Perfectly fine. Now go. He's in room 405."

"Thanks a lot ma'am." Naina said.

Naina tells Sherry that she'll be back soon and left the waiting room to go and meet Navin. She reaches room 405 and slowly walks inside. She sees Navin sitting upright on the bed; a bandage on his left arm and a big smile on his face. Naina walks across the room and sits down next to Navin.

"Hey chuhiya… tum theek toh ho?" He asks her.

"I'm fine bhaai. Aap kaise ho? Dard ho raha hai?"

"Me? I'm great. Haan, thoda dard ho raha hai, but ab tum aa gayi toh I'm feeling better. Lekin, meri pyaari behen ke chehre par smile kyun nahi hai? Kya hua Naina?"

"Kuch nahi…"

"Naina… main tumhaare bada bhaai hoon; I know when you're sad. Kuch toh hua hai…"

"Aapne aisa kyun kiya?"

"Maine aisa kya kiya?"

"Bhaai… aap jaante ho ki main kya baat kar rahi hoon."

"Hmm… jaanta hoon. Tum yehi poochna chahti ho ki maine tumhe kyun bachaya? Kyunki tum meri behen ho. Isliye."

"Magar bhaai, agar aapko kuch ho jaata toh main aapko dobara kho nahi sakti thi…"

"Lekin Naina, mujhe kuch nahi hua hai. Aur agar kuch ho jaata bhi toh bhi main yahan iss bed par tumse baatein kar raha hota… now smile."

Naina manages to give her brother a small smile. Navin felt happier knowing that Naina was better now. He wondered whether he should wait a bit or tell his sister about her secret. He decided to wait, knowing that Rajveer would be here shortly.

On the way to the hospital; Rajveer was in the driver's seat and Neelu was in the passenger seat next to Aalekh. In the backseat, Roma, Ali, Huda and Sameera were talking amongst each other. After about driving for 5 minutes, Neelu spoke up.

"Sir…"

"Yes Neelu?"

"Sir, kya Navin aur Gunny sir theek hai?"

"Well, Shalini ne mujhe phone kiya tha ki Navin theek hai aur Gunny iss waqt OT mein hai. But I'm sure ki operation successful hogi aur woh theek ho jaayenge…"

"Oh…"

After that, no one said a word. They just hoped that Navin and Gunny would get better soon. 15 minutes later, Rajveer pulled the jeep to a halt as they had reached the hospital.

Entering the hospital, Rajveer met Shalini at the reception desk.

"Shalu?"

"Oh… Major. Aap log aa gaye, good."

"Ma'am, dad abhi kaise hai?" Sameera asked.

"He's fine now. Aap chahe toh aap usse abhi mil sakti hai, woh room 303 mein hai."

"Thank you ma'am."

"Shalu, Navin aur Gunny…?"

"Navin bilkul theek hai. Naina usse milne gayi hai. He's in room 405. Aur filhaal toh Gunny ab bhi OT mein hai."

"Thanks. Main Navin se milne jaata hoon. Aalekh, tum baaki sab ko waiting room mein lekar jao."

"Yes sir."
