Part 69:
Angad opened the door after constant doorbells. He was surprised to see the whole gang at the door.
Everyone: surprise!
Angad: not much of a surprise if I saw you guys about 10 hours ago.
Armaan: um…not going to invite us in I see…
Angad: come in…I shouldn't have to tell you…
Armaan-Riddhima, Eijaz-Barkha, and Kartik-Mishti walked in and settled on the couch.
Mishti: Where is Tanya??
Angad: In the shower…I was going to take a shower when you guys started racing to see who rings the doorbell more..
Eijaz: it was a one man race…armaan….racing with….armaan…
Angad: should have guessed…alright..um..tanya will be here soon…im just going to go and take a shower…have to get ready and go to the hospital…got some cases to take care of…
Angad had just left when Tanya stepped out of her room. She was surprised to see them there.
Tanya: hey guys…
Everyone: hi!
Armaan: don't come here Tanya…go to the kitchen…Riddhima dragged me here and wouldn't let me have breakfast…
Tanya(rolled her eyes): you should do that more often Riddhima…at least then your husband says 'please'.
Riddhima and Barkha got up and followed Tanya into the kitchen while Mishti stayed back to discuss a few things with the guys.
Mishti: alright guys…we have to make Tanya believe she is in love with him.
Kartik: cant do that sweetheart…cant force someone to fall in love.
Armaan: technically…you're not forcing…she does love him just doesn't remember…and you know how they say if you tease a girl and guy together for a good while they do begin to develop feelings…we could try that here..
Eijaz: we don't need to though…because Angad obviously loves her we all know that…Tanya may not remember that she loves him but right now as Tanya…she likes him…anyone could make that out…
Mishti: that's true…but we have to make her confess to us…then we can "help" her in confessing to Angad because honestly…her case is really complicated…with other amnesia patients..there is a 50-50 percent chance…in this case its about 80-20….there is a 20% chance that she will get her memory back…most likely she wont because the injury was too severe. She has no other option she is going to have to start a new life…she cant sit there and expect to remember everything all of a sudden.
They started their planning while on the other hand:
As soon as Riddhima entered the kitchen, she pulled Tanya and barkha to a corner.
Riddhima: Tanya..we forgot to tell them yesterday…
Tanya: oh no!
Riddhima: its all barkha's fault..
Barkha: my fault? What did I do?
Riddhima: if you hadn't played that stupid game…we would have remembered to tell them…
Tanya: forget that….when are we going to tell them now?
Riddhima: planning on telling them today after your concert…you know how we all always go out for dinner?...well…we should tell them then before its too late..
Tanya heard the doorbell ring followed by Armaan's "I GOT IT!"
Armaan opened the door to three people he had never seen before. Somehow, Kartik and Mishti could remember the faces just couldn't remember where they had seen them.
Armaan: yes?
The man: we're here to see Angad..
Armaan: oh come in…he's in the shower right now…
He let the three people come in and let them settle in the couch and called Tanya.
Armaan: Tanya!!…someone is here to see Angad…
Tanya excused herself from the women and walked out of the kitchen wondering who could come to visit Angad…at home. The woman looked up and got up in a shock. On her first instinct, she ran towards Tanya and hugged her addressing her "Kripa". The woman started sobbing loudly and in less than two seconds, the man got up and did the same thing. Both of them were asking her questions at once. "kahan chali gayi thi tum?", "humse baat tak nahi ki", "tum bilkul theek ho", and many other things while Tanya constantly tried to get out of the grip. Mishti-Kartik and the other rushed towards them to help as they knew trouble was here.
Armaan: let her go!! Yeh aapki Kripa nahi hai!
Josh(angry): shut up! She's my sister…of course I know who she is!
Eijaz: believe us…this is not Kripa!!
Tanya(startled): Angad!
Angad had just stepped out of the shower when he had heard the commotion. He carelessly went to the mirror and started combing his hair while his tie hung loosely around his neck. It blinked to him when he heard the so familiar sobs. He swore roughly before running out of the room. He rushed up to the cluster in the center of the room and approached Tanya. He made it there just in the right time. She fainted in his arms as soon as he reached. Mishti-Kartik and Angad pushed everyone aside while Kartik carried her since Angad couldn't lift her because he was tangled with her. Kartik was walking towards the nearest room while Angad walked ahead and protested.
Angad: take her to her room..
Karitk: Angad just let me go alright…she needs serious supervision…RIGHT NOW!
Angad: LISTEN TO ME!! TAKE HER TO HER ROOM!!
Mishti: Kartik don't waste time arguing…just go to her room!
All the commotion had waken prateek. Kartik took him out of the crib and walked out of the room while Mishti and Angad inspected Tanya. Since Angad was a neurosurgeon, he had general check up tools at home. As soon as Kartik stepped out of the room, Aliyah rushed to him, took prateek from him and hugged him tight. Her and josh showered Kartik with questions. Kartik sat them down and explained everything to them. Aliyah rested her head on josh's shoulder and sobbed. Angad and Mishti walked out looking worn out.
Aliyah(ran to Angad and hugged him): Bhai!! Im so sorry…why didn't you tell us bhai!!
Angad: because I knew if I told you guys, all of you would come here and something similar would happen…Kripa mujhe itni taqleef ke baad mili hai…I don't want to lose her again…
Aliyah still felt guilty so she didn't let go of her brother and cried guiltily.
Angad: don't worry Aliyah..she is fine…woh theek hai…
Mishti: Angad…what madness was that? Why wouldn't you let us take her to your room..it was the closest…you know we needed to check her ASAP..
Angad: you want to see why I did that? (he grabbed mishti's wrist and pulled her to his door as he flung it open): you want her to see this when she opens her eyes?
Mishti looked around the room while her eyes brimmed with tears. All four walls of his room had tons of pictures of him, Kripa, and prateek. The wall on the right had their engagement picture which sat idle beside their wedding picture. She looked at all of them. They were all arranged in an order. From their engagement till Prateek's birth.
Mishti(slapped his head playfully): tum bilkul paagal ho…
Angad: hmm…Kripa ke pyaar mein…
Josh touched Angad's shoulder. Angad knew what that meant. Josh understood how much Angad was hurting inside.
Josh: are you okay?
Angad: yea…just need some time alone..
Josh patted angad's back and walked away. Aliyah knew what he really needed. She walked into his room, closed the door, locked it and sat beside him. He couldn't keep it in him, he hugged Aliyah and broke down. All the tears he had suppressed all these day flowed out continuously. Aliyah stroked his back as consoling him.
Aliyah: bhai…ro kyun rahe ho?? Aapko to khush hona chahiye ki Kripa zinda hai...aap ke paas hai..
Angad: nahi Aliyah…meri Kripa…mere paas hote huye bhi mere paas nahi hai…
His sobbing started all over again. After what seemed like hours, he stopped crying completely. The silence didn't last long thanks to the knock on the door. Aliyah opened the door after telling Angad to stay.
Armaan: Angad!! Tanya ko hosh aa gaya hai….she's asking for you!
Angad at once got up and rushed into the room taking a seat beside her while putting his arms around her shoulders trying to calm her down. She was frantically screaming at josh telling him to go out of the room.
Angad: Tanya…relax!!! Relax!! He is my sister's husband!! He thought you were Kripa…just like I did when I first saw you…remember that?
Tanya recalled their first meeting and nodded. She looked around and Angad knew right away she was looking for prateek.
Angad: Armaan…bring prateek…
Armaan nodded and left.
Tanya(looked at Josh): im sorry…i'm not well…I have amnesia and..
Angad: its okay Tanya…don't worry…I told him…don't stress yourself…you have the concert tonight remember?
Tanya nodded and rested her head back not realizing she was leaning on angad's shoulder. Josh couldn't help himself and walked out of the room before he broke into tears. Aliyah knew she wont be able to control herself if she went in there so she stayed outside. She walked to josh when he came out.
Aliyah: Josh..
Josh: kuch yaad nahi hai usse ali…woh mujhe bhi bhul gayi hai…mujhe chodo woh…woh Angad ko bhi bhul gayi hai!! I hate this! Why??? Why does it have to be her all the time?? Why is life so unfair to her????
Aliyah: josh relax honey…we all should be happy that she is absolutely fine…aur sirf uski yaadasht gayi hai na?? vapas aa jayegi….aur agar nahi ayegi to hum sab usse sab kuch sach sach bata denge…jab woh khatre se bahar hogi tab Angad khud usse sab kuch bata dega….im sure…but for now…please control your emotions…Angad ko iss waqt hum sab ki jarurat hai…hum iss tarah se toot nahi sakte…
Josh: you're right…I completely forgot about Angad…pata nahi inn dono ko ke rishte ko ab aur kitne imtehaan se guazarna hai….
Josh and Aliyah entered the room once josh had calmed down. Tanya seemed much better now, though she was still lying in Angad's arm or maybe he had his arm around her and she didn't seem to notice. Prateek laid peacefully on Tanya's side.
Angad: Tanya…this is my sister Aaliyah, this is her husband Josh…and guys…this is Tanya…my….my friend and Prateek's baby sitter.
Tanya greeted the two friendly looking people and couldn't help but notice the way they looked together.
Tanya: I must say….you guys look made for each other.
Angad: Tanya…tum Kripa se milogi?
Tanya's eyes darkened at the mention of the name that was haunting her all these days. She thought for a couple of seconds and finally nodded. Angad looked towards Aliyah and nodded at her. Aliyah walked out understanding what exactly he meant. She came back in no time with her bundle of joy engulfed in her arms. Tanya perked up at the sight. Aliyah handed Kripa to Kripa(Tanya) and stood back watching them. Josh secretly had his phone ready to take quick snaps. The three, Angad-Tanya and Kripa of course, looked incredibly adorable with Kripa in Tanya's arms while Tanya was in Angad's arms, technically.
Tanya: awwww….she is a sweetheart!! She looks like you Aliyah!!! And she has Angad's nose!...
Armaan: since when have you been looking at Angad so closely?
Tanya(blushing): um……i…didn't mean….um…..
Riddhima: you talk like idiots Armaan….didnt you see how cutely they were close dancing yesterday? She probably noticed it then…
Mishti: and anyways…girls are good at noticing things like that…
Kartik: tabhi inhe kabhi kisi ki naak tedhi lagti hai to kabhi patli to kabhi lambi…
Mishti: oh shut up! Um..Angad….Tanya…we'll take your leave….we have to go practice one more time before the concert…
Tanya: oh wait..even I have to practice..
Angad: no you don't.
Mishti: sweetie…im sorry but you wont be performing tonight….
Tanya: WHAT?! But….why??
Armaan: because you are not well….we can let this show flunk but we cant lose our very talented member…just this one show…promise you can make up for this one in the next concert.
Tanya: but…
Kartik: no but…just listen to us will you?...Angad…kuch bolo na usse…
Angad: Tanya…I understand how much these concerts mean to you but this one, you're going to have to let go…we cant risk your health for a couple of performances…please just this one…not for yourself but for me? For prateek?...
She hated it when he did that to her. "for me?" "for prateek". He totally knew she cant refuse to those two people and he used only that against her. She couldn't possibly fight to sing anymore.
Tanya(sighed): fine! Just this one though!
Mishti: are wah!...hum sab kabse keh rahe hai lekin tumne apna decision nahi badla…lekin Kartik…Angad ne bola na…please!...to Tanya ne mana kar diya.
Tanya picked up the pillow beside her and threw it at mishti's face.
Mishti: Ow!...so mean!
Tanya: you deserved it!
Mishti(walking out of the door following everyone): whatever! But think over what I said….you might be surprised!
Tanya took another pillow to throw at her but she left before it could hit her.
Tanya: sorry about that…Mishti can be a little annoying sometimes…
Angad(in his mind): I'm not sorry at all…thanks to Mishti's annoying nature…I at least know what's in your heart even as Tanya.
