ZAIB's PERFORMANCE AT PARK HOTEL:

Kripa and Harshini were captivated by Zaib's rich voice; his soft romantic numbers sounded even more melodious in person than they did on a CD.

"Next, I am going to sing a new song for all of you," Zaib spoke in his deep baritone, "it's called seven stages of love…..yeh pyar kya hai…….just like the rainbow has seven colors, this song illustrates the seven colors of love……the seven stages of love….here you go," he gently swerved on his stool and started humming:

"Hello!" Harshin snapped her fingers in front of Kripa's eyes, "ab tho yeh dupatta apne chehre se hataa do……kya soch rahi ho?"

Kripa came out of her trance, "kuch nahin……nahin main dupatta nahin hathaaungi……mujhey sharam aati hai."

"Ladies and Gentlemen….I am going to end the evening with an old favorite of mine……O O jaane jaana!" Zaib got up and started strumming his guitar; the audience started cheering and clapping with the beat of an all time favorite song, which had made Zaib a star in a short period.

Zaib got off the stage and started dancing with his guitar in between the tables. All the girls and women swooned over him; they tried to touch him, hug him, pose with him, even tried to kiss him. Zaib then stopped at Kripa and Harshini's table and sang to them.

Suddenly, Zaib paused; he gazed at the beautiful pair of eyes staring at him…….they were the most striking pair of eyes he had ever seen……..he could not see her face behind the black veil……..but he thought he could read everything they had to say……..in aankhon ki gehraayi mein aisa kya hai? Aisa lagta hai jaise main in aankhon ko janam janam se pehchaan tha hoon……..

The audience started clapping, nudging him to continue his song. Zaib came out of his trance and started singing softly……..

Kripa realized that Zaib had been staring at her; she was very embarrassed and lowered her eyes. She did not have the courage to look up any more. As soon as the song finished, she prodded Harshini to leave, "chal ab chalte hain…….9 bajne waale hain…….mama papa ko bahut chinta ho jaayegi."

Harshini relented and held Kripa's hand as they tried to escape through a dark corner of the hall.

Zaib saw the two women trying to leave quietly. He noticed the woman with the beautiful eyes was very fearful and shy when he had been near their table…….kaun hai yeh ladki? Kahan se aayi hai? Itna sharmaa kyon rahi hai? Why is she having that affect on me?

He started humming as everyone cheered him up for singing another song.

"Yeh gaana uss gumnaam ladki ke liye hai jo sirf apni aankhon se bolti hai…..aur shayad uski awaaz seedhe mere dil tak pahunch rahi hai………," he said as he strummed his guitar: "simti si, sharamayi si" from "parwana"

Kripa paused at the door as she heard the song. Her heart was thumping inside her chest, her breaths heavy; her palms were clammy as his voice and lyrics pierced her heart……..mujhey aisa kyon lagta hai ki yeh gaana meri wajah se gaa raha hai…….she shut her eyes and tried to calm down. Harshini was glad that Kripa had decided to stay back.

Zaib came down the stage again and stood behind the two women at the door. Everyone turned around to see what had caught their pop star's attention.
"Kya apna naam nahin bataaogi?" he said huskily into Kripa's ears.

She almost died when she realized he was so close to her; her legs felt like jello…..she wanted to run away, but could not.

Harshini smiled and was about to say, "Kr…….," but Kripa interrupted her friend and quickly said, "TANYA," and ran away from the banquet hall to stop outside the lobby for a taxi. Harshini followed her friend, "ruko Kripa……apna naam galat kyon bataaya?"

Zaib stood still for a few moments, "Tanya? Naam tho kitna modern hai, parr sharam bilkul puraane zamaane jaisi……I like that…..I like it a lot!" he smiled and turned back to join the guests.

As they sat in the taxi, Kripa buried her face in her palms, "Harshini…..yeh kya ho gaya aaj? Main ab kisi ko mooh dikhaane laayak nahin rahi."

Harshini rolled her eyes, "mooh tho tu waise hi kisi ko nahin dikhati……itna badha parda jo hai tere mooh parr," she chuckled.

"Wo kya soch raha hoga? I hope your Kartik bhaiyya does not get into trouble…….yeh sab meri wajah se hua hai……I should not have come with you," Kripa started sobbing.

"Relax Kripa…….why are you so scared of everyone? Kuch bhi tho nahin hua…….Zaib was just interested in knowing your name…….maybe he was just inquisitive……aaj kal ke zamaane mein aakhir aise parda kaun rakhta hai? And that too in front of a hottie like Zaib!" Harshini laughed.

"Ab main yeh galti kabhie nahin karoongi Harshini……I am so embarrassed……..kahin koi pehchaan le humein……kahin mama papa ko pata chal gaya tho? I will die if they find out," Kripa clutched Harshini's hands.

"No one will know….trust me…..waise bhi Zaib thinks you are Tanya….and he has not even seen your face……so chill sweetheart……tu mera bhi blood pressure badha rahi hai!" Harshini tried to reason with Kripa.

MEANWHILE AT THE SHARMA RESIDENCE:

Suryabhan and Gayatri were engrossed with their daily dose of prime time SOAPS on TV, when Gayatri said, "aaj yeh dono kahan hai? Bahut chup chup hain…….khaana maangne bhi nahin aayi abhi tak."

"Maybe it is a good thing Gayatri……shayad exams ki tayyari kar rahi hongi," Suryabhan said absent mindedly, as he was focused on his favorite 'CID' program.
Gayatri was concerned about her daughters, "bechari kitni bhookhi hongi……main dekhti hoon."

Tanya was busy in their room, watching some Youtube videos of the day's match between India and West Indies. She was wearing jeans and a sleeveless top, and sat with her legs folded on the chair with eyes fixated on her computer screen.
"Tanya!" Gayatri knocked on the door.

Tanya hastily minimized the Youtube window on the computer and let the monitor display an economics paper instead, "haan mama…..kuch kaam tha? Wo bas exams ke liye padh rahi thi."

"Kripa kahan hai?" Gayatri looked around. Kripa and Tanya shared a large room in their apartment. They each had a desk and a twin bed on either side of the room.
"Wo….wo…..bathroom mein hai mama…..do you need her?" Tanya asked innocently.

"Nahin…..jab bahar aa jaaye tho mere paas bhej dena……thodi sabzi kaatni hai," Gayatri knew Kripa would never hesitate to help her in the kitchen; Tanya on the hand was a different story-she would be happy if Tanya would learn how to make a cup of tea one day!

"OK mama!" Tanya stretched her arms, as if she was exhausted from all the mugging for her exams.

As soon as Gayatri left, Tanya got up and changed up into one of Kripa's salwaar suits. She fixed her hair like Kripa's and made a serious face, "haan…..ab main Kripa jaisi seedh saadhi lag rahi hoon," she checked herself in the mirror and stepped out of her room.

Kripa and Tanya were indeed identical in every way. Their heights, weights, features, complexion, voices were IDENTICAL. Their mother could usually tell them apart, but their father often mistook them for the other one, especially if they were dressed alike. Since adolescence, they had developed their unique style of dressing and of course their personalities were poles apart, so their parents usually did not get confused.

There was, however, one major difference: Kripa was right handed and Tanya was left handed! It is a well known scientific fact that a quarter of all identical twins are actually mirror images of each other. If one is left handed, the other one is right handed. In fact, some people theorize that every left handed person is actually the only survivor of an original twin pregnancy!

Tanya joined her parents in the living room, "mama….kya kaatna hai?" she spoke softly like Kripa.

"Beti….wahan bhindi rakhi hai….zara kaat de……aur phir chaunk bhi dena," Gayatri pointed to the vegetables lying on the kitchen table. Tanya was horrified- she would actually have to enter the kitchen, cut vegetables and even cook them!
"Kripa ki bachhi! Kahan phansa diya mujhey?" Tanya cursed her twin.

Tanya sat down at the table and looked at the bhindi as if they came from an alien land!

Tanya started cutting the vegetables with her left hand, but saw Gayatri approaching her from the corner of her eyes. She quickly transferred the knife to her right hand and clumsily started cutting the bhindis.

"Kripa! Tere haath mein kya hua? Aise kaise kaat rahi hai?" Gayatri was puzzled to see her normally deft girl being so clumsy in the kitchen.

"Wo mama….aaj main gir gayi thi…..mere seedhe haath mein chot lag gayi thi," Tanya lied through her teeth, but kept her eyes on the table; although she was a compulsive liar, she could never look her parent's in the eyes when she was lying.
"OH…sorry beta….jaa main kaat deti hoon……jaakar hamare kamre se ace bandage laga le……aur haan Tanya ko bhej de mere paas…..iss bahane usey hi kuch kitchen ka kaam sikha doon," Gayatri felt sorry for Kripa. It was not unusual for Kripa to remain silent after any major injury or bruise, unlike of course Tanya, who would make sure the whole neighborhood knew of every minor scratch she ever sustained!

Tanya got up obediently and said softly, "Tanya tho bathroom mein hai."

"Bathroom mein?" Gayatri asked, "aaj tum dono bathroom bahut jaa rahi ho?"
"Wo aaj college ki canteen mein khaana kharaab tha……kai logon ko food poisoning ho gayi," Tanya looked away and said.

"Oh….pehle bataana tha….tum logon ke liye soup banaa deti phir…..achha jao bandage tho laga lo," Gayatri stroked Tanya's hair and sent her off.

Tanya went to her parent's room and called Kripa from there, "Kripa! Kahan ho tum? You are going to get me into trouble!"

"Main raaste mein hoon Tanya…..kya mama papa ko shaq tho nahin hua?" Kripa asked worriedly.

"Filhaal tho nahin hua…..but hurry up…..and don't ring the bell…..just SMS me……and come inside very quietly…OK?" Tanya whispered loudly on the phone.
Tanya paced up and down in her parent's room and waited for Kripa's text message.

Gayatri came in to check, "kya hua beti? Bandage nahin mila?"

"No mama…..I need to rush," she made a red face and ran into her parent's bathroom with her phone.

Gayatri shook her head, "bechari Kripa…waise hi itni dubli patli hai…..ab food poisoning se tho bilkul kamzor ho jaayegi."

Gayatri came back to the living room and joined her husband. Just as she sat down, they heard a loud scream , "AHHHHHHH!"

They got worried and ran to their bedroom.

They saw 'Kripa' (actually Tanya) shaking fearfully in their bedroom.
"Kya hua Kripa beti?" both her parents ran to her.

"Chipkali! There is a lizard in the bathroom mama!" Tanya yelled.
Her parents rolled their eyes, "Kripa….tumne tho hamari jaan hi nikaal di thi…..chalo ab khaana khaate hain," Gayatri reassured her frail little daughter, "kuch Tanya se seekh beti….wo kitni bahadur hai…..chipkali kya, sher bhi us sey darr jaaye!"

In the meantime, Kripa came back and tip toed into her room. Tanya had warned her that she was actually 'Kripa' that evening, so Kripa had to quickly change up into Tanya's jeans and top to look authentic. Kripa was never comfortable in jeans and tops. She kept covering herself with her hands and stretching her top down, "yeh Tanya ki bachhi itne chote chote tops kyon pehanti hai?"

Kripa came out of the bedroom, dressed up as Tanya, "Hi mama…Hi papa!" she tried to act chirpy and bubbly like her sister.

"Ab kaisi tabiyat hai?" Gayatri asked 'Tanya'(actually Kripa)
"Tabiyat?" Kripa was surprised.

"Mama! My tummy! Ouch!" Tanya (real one pretending to be Kripa) held her tummy with her hands and rolled in 'pain'

Kripa (real one) understood what was going on, "better hai mama….lagta hai Kripa (real Tanya) ko dard ho raha hai."

"Haan….naa jaane kya khaa liya tum dono ne aaj?" Gayatri was worried, "exams ka time hai…..bimaar ho gayi tho lene ke dene padh jaayenge!"
Tanya (real one) gestured to Kripa, "W-E B-O-T-H H-A-V-E F-O-O-D P-O-I-S-O-N-I-N-G!"

"Oh!" Kripa (real one) said silently.

Gayatri, meanwhile came back with 2 cups of hot turmeric milk, "tum dono yeh haldi ka doodh pee lo…..saara dard theek ho jaayega."
The girls were mortified-they hated haldi ka doodh! That was the most disgusting thing in the world.

"Mama…..ab mera dard better hai…shayad khaana khaane se hi theek ho jaaye," Tanya (actually Kripa) said, as the real Kripa would never disobey her mom.
"Koi baat nahin….PEE LO CHUP CHAP!" Gayatri ordered her girls. The sisters made a disgusting face and pinched their noses as Gayatri made sure they drank the yucky concoction.

Tanya (real one) glared at Kripa as if warning her, "this is all because of you! Main bhi dekh loongi tujhey!"

"Let's have dinner girls," suryabhan joined them after 'CID' was over.
The girls obediently sat down for dinner and started serving themselves with their non-dominant hands.

"Tanya….tere haath mein bhi chot lagi hai kya?" Gayatri noticed that 'Tanya' (actually Kripa) was spilling half the food on the table while serving herself with her non-dominant hand.

"OH….mama….aaj main gir gayi thi," Kripa (real one) said.

Gayatri was really confused, "tu bhi gir gayi thi? Kripa bhi gir gayi thi aaj……hey bhagwan meri dono betiyon parr yeh kaun si dasha aa gayi hai…..bechari aaj dono ke din ache nahin the."

Both Kripa and Tanya remained quiet, but thought, "mama…on the contrary, it was the best day of my life."

Kripa (real one) thought, "aaj ki shaam main kabhie nahin bhool sakti," she shivered as she remembered how close Zaib was to her, and how he had melted her insides with his husky voice- kya apna naam nahin bataaogi? Kripa was cursing herself now for saying 'Tanya' instead of her real name- she was just so frightened at that time, so on an impulse had said her sister's name. Tanya had a habit of getting into trouble all the time, and Kripa thought Tanya would not mind it if she found out.

Tanya (real one) thought, "aaj Dhoni ki century kya kamaal ki thi….kaash main wahan live match dekh rahi hoti……hai mera Dhoni…..he is my superhero……my superman….my spiderman…..my batman! Kaash meri zindagi mein bhi koi aisa superhero aa jaaye….sigh!"

great part that was soooo hilarious 😆 OMG! I couldnt stop laffing 😆 It was also confusing but i understood after i read the Kripa and Tanya switching part over agian Zaib souns so SEXY! wheres Angad? i cnt wait until he falls in lov with either Kripa or Tanya well i think Kripa's really SHY! she covers her face evry where she goes A LIL' WEIRD! Tanya's awesome! she is hilarious i lov her character Tnaya && Zaib will make an awesome couple and ofcourse Angad and Kripa always make a awesome couple i juss love Angad and Zaib there so HOT! INTRODUSE ANGAD FAST.!!!! I CANT WAIT!
