Part4:
Kripa climbed down the stool quickly and stared at the rotating door knob with bated breath. The next moment door swung open and there he was standing with charm and cunningness dripping from his face. He walked in and stood in front of her greeting her like a gentleman. Finally Kripa found her voice and spoke up "how…I mean…I mean…why r u here?"
Angad smirked and said "why…do I need a reason to meet my wife?" Kripa felt like screaming on his face and ask him about all these years, wasn't she his wife then, but he didn't give a damn about her then so why he has come now, all of a sudden. But kept quiet. Like a good host she invited him in but was disturbed by a phone call. She looked at him with apologetic expression and went to pick up receiver. Prithvi screamed at the other end. Talking to him in front of Angad itself made her uncomfortable and guilty "yes Prithvi." Kripa raised her eyes to see Angad for his reactions and all she got was a sarcastic smirk that he gave her, before walking in. Disappointed Kripa concentrated on phone call at the same time eyeing if Angad was listening to her conversation or not. "Yes Prithvi…ummm…no I can't come now. Tomorrow will be ok. I will be there. No, I am fine. Bye."
She clicked down the receiver and went inside. Angad was sitting on the rocking chair and his coat hanging on the hanger stand cleared that he had no intentions of leaving any time soon. She came and stood in front of him waiting for him to say something, ask something. But when nothing came out she cleared her throat and started saying while fidgeting a little "Actually I am producing a city play, u know just for time pass and Prithvi is the lead so he just called up to confirm the schedule." Angad smiled and said "I am sure Kripa. U need not explain" Kripa cursed herself for explaining it to him. Why does she keep on forgetting she is not answerable to him? To get rid of her awkwardness, she asked him if he would like to have coffee. Angad followed her to the kitchen and leaned against the door watching her making coffee with known expertise.
"So r u and Prithvi still going strong." Angad asked in an obvious tone.
It hurt Kripa. Big deal. This man can't come out of his misconceptions. "And how does it matter to you." She replied with a hint of anger in her voice, pouring the coffee in two cups, her coffee with a cube of sugar and Angad's with two. Angad helped her taking the cups back to the living room and replied "no just curious, u know in office it looked like josh is the new one in ur life, so just wondering about Prithvi."
Kripa felt tears of humiliation welling in her eyes again. What does he think of her? All she does is going around hooking different men. And isn't he himself aware of the flirty nature of josh. So how could he even think like that?
"Well what difference does it make, its not that u r going to believe me anyways. U will believe what u want to. Truth doesn't really matters to you." Kripa said in frustration.
"Ahh…same game again. What are u trying to prove by the way. All I asked you was an ordinary question. There was no need to get hyper, your anger in itself betrays that what I said wasn't totally wrong." Angad said with a little anger.
Kripa got up and said raging in anger "If u think about me like that, why the hell do you give a damn about what I do in my life. Just divorce me god dammit. Lets over this so called marriage. What is the use of carrying such a meaningless relationship? I am tired of this all, end it for god sake, once and for all."
"Very well Kripa. Your wish is my command. But I have a condition. And you will get what u want. Just a little thing and that's it. Then we are done." Angad said in clever diplomatic tone.
"And what is it?" Kripa asked in suspicion.
"Well the thing that every husband has a right to ask from his wife. The thing every husband wants and gets from his wife. Make love to me once and I will free you from this marriage." Angad said, his back towards Kripa.
Kripa felt as if some one has poured hot lava in her ears, she screamed at him in rage "but why? What will it mean after this all? It will be mean absolutely nothing…we are not in love Angad. Making love for a condition, how could you think like that?"
Kripa continued to scream and cry while Angad collected his coat and walked out of the door without a word.
So was it, finally and yes, they are not getting divorced. My XII board results are due on 25th may. Please wish me luck.
