So he refused and she's still in a stupor that she's getting married to Dev.

I hope it all gets sorted out and she doesn't find up until the mandap and if she does I want a full-fledged scene of him saving her and the stuff that got edited. ☺️

That was the intent…to make sure it looks chaotic because of a single assumption…😊
Raavi in this story is quite similar to the one in the show yet, she will be different…

The previous chapter was full of confusions and hopefully, this and the next chapter will give you some clarity.

In all the chapters, I have made an attempt to include some important and cute scenes which I really liked in the show…😊

Chapter 3) She loves me, she loves me not

Shiva was sitting on the bed in his room. Though his room was small, technically a store room changed to a bedroom but it was his safe place. It was the only place where he can think clearly but today, not so much.

“How can bhabhi think that I can marry Raavi!!” He did not notice but he said it out loud.

“Because she knows you.” Gautam said leaning on the door to his room.

“Gaumbi, you too. Why would you agree to this? Knowing me, my equation with maami. Everything.” Shiva said, too emotional at that time.

“Because Shiva, I have seen you grow up. You have grown up with her. Since childhood, your world has revolved around Raavi. Coming back from school, you used to look at ways to visit her so as to irritate her. I know it is not love, at least not in your eyes. But it is something. It might take you days, months or years to figure out but it is something.” After saying these words, Gautam was about to leave the room when Shiva stopped him.

“Gaumbi. What are you saying?”

“I am saying I am not going to force you for anything but I do not want you to have any regrets. Think and decide.”

Just then, Shiva felt like a jolt of electricity rushing through his veins. He imagined all the times he bugged her starting from their school days. A small smile made its way to his lips when he was imagining Raavi with him. He decided to talk to her before going ahead with anything.

It was 1 am. Raavi was taking out the clothes that she wanted to wear for the functions that will start soon. Just then, she heard a loud thud near the window. The moment she turned, she collided with Shiva. She was about to fall but Shiva caught her.

“Oh ho, you can’t stop yourself from coming here.” Raavi said it while pulling his cheeks.

“What are you doing? Why did you say ‘yes’ for this wedding?” He asked her.

“Because I want to. Since childhood, it has been my dream to get married into your family. Pandya family is my family.”

Shiva was surprised hearing her say all this. He knew she was innocent and weird at the same time but he did not know that she wanted to marry him. Their fights since childhood, her coming to him or Dhara for everything, no matter how big or small was making a little bit sense to him. She felt a connection with them.

“Shiva, in a few days, I will be a part of your family. Everyone is happy with this alliance. I could not meet Dev in person but I messaged him, he is also very happy. Gaumbi, Dhara di…everyone is just looking forward to this marriage. I want you to be happy too.”

Seeing this sensitive side of Raavi, Shiva smiled a little.

He wanted to talk to her a bit more and put some sense into her brain when he heard a knock on Raavi’s door.

“Raavi, are you okay? I heard a loud noise.” Raavi’s maasi knocked on her door.

Shiva immediately got up from the bed and jumped from the window.

“He could have gone out from the door. He is a weirdo.” Raavi thought to herself.

“I dropped the water bottle. Everything is fine, Maasi. You go and sleep.” Raavi concocted a story to make sure Shiva’s visit remain a secret.

The walk back to the house made Shiva realise that he can move forward with this alliance because as Raavi said, everyone is happy. Something in his mind was telling him that things are not right but he felt like going ahead with it. He knew one thing that Raavi wanted this marriage which was surprising for him.

He went to Dhara and Gaumbi’s room to tell them about his decision of going ahead with the wedding. Their happiness brought a smile on his face which reaffirmed his belief that he was not doing anything wrong.

Dhara and Gautam were busy with the decorations when Raavi entered the house. She was looking here and there when her eyes met Shiva. She waved at him and to her surprise, he did the same.

“Oh God, he is such a sweetheart. He has accepted me for Dev’s happiness.” She thought to herself.

“Raavi, what are you doing here. It is your wedding in a week, go back and help maami maamaji with preparations. And stop looking at Shiva.”

Hearing this, Raavi came out of her reverie. Shiva got embarrassed and was about to leave when Dhara stopped him.

“Dev has gone to meet the supplier in Baroda. It is his wedding in a few days and he had to go there. At least you come to the tailor with me.” Dhara told Shiva.

Raavi’s face fell but she brought out her chirpy side back. “When will Dev come back?”

“In 4-5 days. I am so worried about all the preparations. Are, I need to go and order sweets.” Dhara left in a hurry after saying this.

Saying a quick bye to Shiva, Raavi also left the Pandya house but felt it a bit odd that Dev did not tell her that he was going. “Oh Raavi, stop overthinking. He must be busy with so many preparations plus the suppliers.”

It was Raavi’s mehndi. Since morning, she has been busy. She did not even get time to talk to Dev. “He must have been busy for the past few days, that is why he did not message or call me. Raavi, you are about to get married. You need to relax.”

“What is the name of your groom, madam?” The mehndi artist enquired.

Just then, Dhara came and hugged Raavi.

“You will finally be my sister-in-law. I am so happy.” Dhara said kissing her on the right cheek.

“Madam” the woman enquired again. This time Dhara answered her query.

“Shiva!”

Raavi thought she did not hear the name correctly.

“What did you say, Dhara di?”

“Are, I said your would be husband’s name. Shiva.”

Raavi felt her head was spinning hearing Shiva’s name as her groom. She thought that Dhara was kidding but looking at her, she grasped that it was not a joke, she was indeed getting married to Shiva.

“You, Rishita and I will make a great team. Now I am going to take your leave. Have to go to Rishita’s place also. It is her mehendi also. Dev and Rishita make a beautiful pair just like you and Shiva.”

It took Raavi approximately 15 minutes to join all the dots of what has transpired in the past few days. Prafulla and Shiva coming to her room, Dev not answering her calls or replying to her messages; it was all making sense. She got up from there saying she needs some fresh air. She came outside her house in the aangan and saw a big board which read

“SHIVA weds RAAVI”.

Also, I did not want the drama to unfold on the wedding day, though that track is my favourite tracks from the show. Hence, the mehndi night 😉
