“Are you out of your freaking mind?” Viveka texted in all caps when Naina would not answer the phone, Anu had a headache so she came home early Monday and was taking a nap
Akash was still at work
Diya and Karuna had both called her in shock
“I am sane Veev”
“Kya hua yaar? Did you cry for weeks because he dumped you?”
“Yes, that was before…since I did not receive any help from my family I decided to sort things out on my own”
“I thought he dumped you because you were too clingy?”
“Veev that is a b—ch move, how awful!”

“No I cant talk right now, he is in the shower we are getting ready to leave for dinner”

Naina sent a bunch of heart and kisses emojis
Viveka stormed into the twins’ room and woke Dadi up

Dadu grunted and sat up

“Dadi aapko Naina kuch batakari gayi?”
Dadu just waddled to the bathroom assuming Naina was at the office
“Mujhe bas usne yeh kaha na teri Ma ko chinta hai na Papa ko, teri Ma ne pata nahi kya patti padhayi Akash ka dimaag to ekdum jam gaya hai” dadi used the chance to insult Anubha
“Dadi aapko pata hai Naina Inder ke saath Jaipur mein hai?” Viveka was shaking in anxiety
“Hmm” Dadi just rearranged her pallu
“Dadi aapka KYA bigada Ma ne aap unse aisa kyon kar rahi hain?” Viveka teared up
“Ma ko pooch, Garima se kaisi baat ki usne”
Viveka’s jaw dropped
Dadi was so vengeful, Anu had said nothing to Garima Chachi, Dadi had wanted Anu to “play down” her professional achievements
Ma had told her “I wont dumb myself down to make Garima feel better”
Akash had supported Anu whole heartedly

“Who Anu ke alawa kisi ki suntan bhi hai?”

Dadu came out and was surprised Viveka was still there
“Kya hua beta? Isko pet mein dard hai abhi?” he enquired about his wife
“Nahi Dadu, aapki patni apne khud ke bete ko hurt kar rahin hain” Viveka sobbed running out of the room
She texted Akash
“Of course” he said in response
“Are you coming home?”
“On my way beta”
“I feel so bad for Ma”
“Hai waha?”
“Nahi so rahi hain”
“Have u spoken with Inder?”
“No Papa cudnt return his call”
Akash called her
“You think they both conned us?” he barked
“Kya pata I don’t know”
“don’t be objective say something to soothe my fury”
“It wont Papa it will make you more angry if I agree”
“Raanav se baat ki aapne?”
“Umm.. nahi”
They were fighting so neither had reached out
“Kyon roz baat nahi hoti?”
“Umm.. not really” she lied
“can you ask him?” “Main Satyen ji se poochhta hoon”
“Ughhhh its going to get so ugly when he wife finds out”
“Hmm… kya karen, beti hamari aisi hai”
Anu walked in daze and sat down on the sofa by Viveka
A dupatta was tied to her head
“Kya beti paayi hai maine” she mumbled and began to cry
“Maaa…. Shhhs… shhhhh shhhh, Papa just get home, Ma is awake”
Dadi came out
“Beta chai bana lo”
“Abhin ahi Dadi” Viveka said firmly but politely

“Yeh sawaal apne se karo beta aap” Dadi sat down groaning and started doing her Ram naam beads eyes closed

“Garima se kaisi baat ki aapne?”

She texted Raanav after many attempts to reword her texts
She finally sent one
“Hey, can you please call me when you have a minute”
Of course he wasn’t going to call her immediately
He had a giant ego as well, she had stood him up to hang with his friends last night
He called her around 10ish that night
When the twins helped clean the kitchen, and Viveka helped put leftovers away in the frig etc

“We didn’t exactly walk away amicably”

Karuna noticed who it was, she shut the exhaust fan off and urged her to go to her own room

“Inder and Naina ne kya kiya pata laga tumhe?” she asked her voice shaking

“Tum un dono ki baat par HAMESHA I heard kehte ho BAS tumhari responsibility waha khatam?” she shouted in the balcony
“Woww… whoaaa… whoaaa” he was angry too
“JAB bhi I have asked you you have said I HEARD” “Is that the wealthy people way of saying “I don’t give a f---?” she demanded
“Maybe” he said coolly
“Tumse baat karna beqaar hi hai phir”
“You make the choice”
“Naina has eloped with him. Just an FYI, agar apne cousin ki fiqar ho to follow up kar lena”
“Quit insulting me Viveka I already told u I know”
“I am not insulting you, I find your investment in this situation really pathetic”

“That was uncalled for Raanav, she is my sister, she didn’t let any of us know, she is gone we thought she was in Jaipur. Inder is with her she says I want to know what you know about it”
He took a deep breath
“Raanav?”
“He is in town he got here yesterday, a little after I dropped you”
“Tumhe pata tha? “Tumne kaha nahi?” Viveka was unreasonably upset
“Did Naina tell you she was doing this?”
“Umm.. NOOO!! That’s why I am asking”
“I doubt this is rage about Naina and Inder, this is about you and me Viveka… “
“Tumse kis baat par ladoon main Raanav? U shrugged off your Mom’s antics, you don’t want a pre-nup, now she probably knows where Inder is and Naina is too”
“And its all my fault?” he said accusingly
“MERI galti hai Raanav (long pause followed by a whimper) maine haan kari shaadi ke liye, Naina tabhi gayi ghar se” “You are forever caught between a rock and a hard place of trying to defend your Mom with me” (a stifled whimper)
“Vive”
“Let me finish Raanav”
“Viveka.. stop it”
“Your indifference to this situation is making me sad” she let her sob escape
“I am not indifferent Viveka… I didn’t know Naina or him had this planned alright?”
“thanks” she mumbled “My parents are devastated Raanav”
“Hmm.. I am sorry I wish I could help” he said softly
She wept softly
“If you hear from Inder will you please tell me?” she asked politely
“I will”
“thanks”
“Is there a reason for the chilling formality Viveka?” he asked aptly
“Umm.. no”
“Ah” he agreed to disagree
“rakhti hoon”
“Got it” he growled
“Its late, I have to help Karu clean up the kitchen”
She hung up and stared at the icy chill she felt existed between them today
Wow. Naina and Dadi are both acting fearless and irresponsible.
I never see karma hitting someone on their faces in your story but if you do, please nish make these two get their karmas please!
Its funny anu and viveka has been most heart warming personality and has to deal whi S --- while Naina and Dadi gets away with their mediocre behaviour ALL the time!
The true show of mettle now is on !
Raanav now necessarily has to take sides and a stance and he now would have to truly prove to Veev that he genuinely cares for her and will be by her side for anything that matters to her....right now the situation with Naina.
We know his opinion of middle class in general and he prefers to believe that Veev is an aberrance to the norm. I would like to believe that he thinks likewise of Anu and Akash ( though it would not still be right or fair to the rest of the likes of us, at least it would be a good start ) lovely parents being put to the test by two members of their own family. He has to tackle Smrita on their behalf and draw firm lines on dos' and donts'....will he do it, sadly i somehow doubt it !!
Dadi is turning more viperish by the day and I wonder how long she has been nurturing her venom against Anu. I know of a couple of MILs in true life like her and always wonder what makes them tick the way they do?!
Veev and Naina...same upbringing , education and background...Does this show that nature wins over nurture?!
Lots of questions thrown up in this update...feel really really bad for Anu and Akash who actually score higher in my head than even the protagonists. Do they deserve this and their qualms would magnify about the Veev Raanav relationship now.....
And Inder is still unknown quantity to us. We have no idea what role he has played in the entire scenario and I would hate to have the blame rest squarely on Naina's shoulders alone.
God !!!! what a mess !!!
Dadi needs to go back home to Garima ASAP.....😔
I have a lot of words to say about Naina, Dadi, and Inder. I hope they each get what they truly deserve. 🤬
I really feel this is going to explode negatively on Viveka and Raanav. 😒 Viveka is already on the fence and this might push her over completely. What a crapshoot!!
Whoa!!! Vindictive vixen !Dadi is finally the one calling the shots playing the emotional manipulative games . No wonder she's the monster- in law here.
Oh boy! Not only does she communicate in a thousand subtle ways that she is dismissive of Anubha's professional accomplishments or that she's not good enough for her son and her family , she also comes up with thousand different ways to torture her daughter in law and her son. Man! Don't her fingers get tired from all the finger pointing she engages in ??She constantly plays favorites pitting one against another, including those that are her own and those that are her grandchildren .No generation exempt.
She has pushed all buttons in all this time she has been with them! Enough's enough !! Akash knows she's toxic and will not stop smearing !!! It's time for him to pack her off and reclaim his turf!

Ah nice!!! Much needed dose!!!! But he isn't exactly cowering though !!! He's actually one who is saying each to their own . He's not going to kill himself over it unlike his would be!!
But the guy's mettle is tough! He respects and revers her intelligence but he's saying to her that , it doesn't mean I'll take crap from you Viveka !!!
Mathurs kinda deserve this...they all ignored naina..they never really sat and talked to her after her break up other than judging her silently..
Anu and akash always were biased to Viveka..whether it's during her relationship with Abhishek or the marriage with raanav..they agree with everything she does immediately..
