This chapter is lengthy as I wanted to set the stage for Manveer to officially meet in next chapter.

Chapter 14: Mysterious Princess of Devgarh

Studying was out of question, as her mind was preoccupied with UV and a battle with her ego as to whether she should call again.

It was now evening. Agitated and on the edge, she was cleaning her room to distract herself.

Isha - knock knock.... dinner nai karna?

She heads down. She had been playing with her food for a while now and was not eating.

Isha - please eat. Dont take it out on the food

Curious Jen says - take what out? What happened?

Isha looks at M as if asking for permission to tell. M nods yes.

Isha - guess who Mansi made out with at dance?

M - made out? It was a kiss. Such Exaggeration

Isha gives her a big grin. Jen says "hmmm...Luv, considering he likes you". M and Isha shocked and say - what

M - no he doesnt.

Isha - wait... he told you??

Jen - you both always talk, he is so caring for you so i had asked him... (interrupted)

Isha - and he admitted?

Jen - no he didnt react... but he didnt say no either

Isha gets all excited - omg epic love triangle

M gives her a "shut up" look and then adds "ok chill out both of you. Its nothing like that at all. I remind him of his sister, who passed away few years ago."

Jen - oh thats sad... what happened?

M - "she had a tumor and passed away when she was 16. He says if she was alive today she would be like a replica of me"

Jen and Isha - awww

Jen - i feel like an idiot for saying that to him

Mansi - he doesnt like to talk about it so probably he didnt say anything

Jen - guess so. So then who did you kiss?

Isha - UV it was UV

Jen - oooooo lucky girl

They fill Jen in on the details.

Jen - hmm i dont think he would leave without saying bye on purpose.

Isha - i dont know its UV though

Seeing M sad, Jen signals Isha to shut up.

Jen - sweetie stop overthinking, sometimes things happen for the best.

M nods yes.

On the other side, UV was in a party as the Jaigarh Groups had finalized deal for a hotel in Las Vegas. But his mind bounced elsewhere - "sorry princess, i had to do this but i can't let his sweet opportunity go"... he smirks. Next day, Luv and UV leave for London. Few days pass by and Mansi & others are finally done with exams. Their graduation is coming up in few days. With her goals of a MBA complete, she felt it was time to tell the truth.

Mansi's place

M - guys I have something to share. But before I do, I want to say that my intentions were not bad. I wanted to complete my studies without any drama.... or privileges

Rohan - did u cheat???

M - No way! (takes a long breath) - "my name is not Mansi".

Everyone was shocked. Isha's jaw dropped.

Mansi - chill im not some criminal. Everything you know about me is true except my real identity.

Isha - who are you?

Mansi - My real name is Manyata Kumari Singh. I am granddaughter of Rajmata Mrinalidevi of Devgarh

Rohan with his jaw dropped - "holy cow, you are the mystery princess of Devgarh". M nods yes

Rohan fills Chris, Jen and Rehan in about Mrinalidevi and mystery princess. M was a private person. She disliked media and how they presented things. As such, from a young age she learned to stay away from paparazzis. There werent many pic, especially current, or any details about her out in public thus media had nicknamed her as mystery princess.

Rehan - why did you hide it?

Manyata - long story, I didn't want to go to Oxford, as its filled with Royals. I wanted to be away from all that drama and that crazy lifestyle. I wanted to live a normal life as long as i could so i choose Harvard. I wanted my privacy. If someone knew then i would be center of attention and i didnt want that..... Maybe we wouldnt even have been friends if you knew. I really just wanted to be normal student and live peacefully for a while.

Jen - i guess i understand why you felt the need to hide the truth.

Manyata - i am telling you guys now becuse i cannot imagine my life without all of you. And i want to stay part of yours. I hope we can be... (looking down nervously) Chris gets up and hug her - "Mansi.. oops Manyata, ofcourse we will always be friends. I guess we dont think about problems you can have being a royalty. I can understand as well...only problem is: I may still call you Mansi for few months." He winks at her bringing smile to M's face. All hug her one by one, M further adds "one more thing, so my siblings and mother will be here tomorrow to attend graduation ceremony. I want you all to meet them."

Back in London:

Now that her exams were complete Arjun had arranged for Jay to meet Unnati. They were in a bar. After a brief chat, Manyata comes up. Unnati was aware she studied in USA but not much detail.

Unnati - why didnt manyata come to oxford

Arjun smiles - she didnt want to follow typical royal path as she says

Unnati - i dont blame her. Which college in USA?

Jay - Harvard

Unnati - ohhh.. dada was just there for 5 months as exchange student. Maybe he knows her!

Jay - dont think so, she didnt mention anything about udayveer.

Arjun who knew about Manyata hiding her identity mentions - its a big campus i doubt it

All agree and their chat continue as Uday calls.

Uday - choti, sorry I am late, I just completed my meeting. Where are you guys?

Unnati gives him address and he joins shortly. He had met Arjun in these past couple of days but was meeting Jay for first time. Arjun and Jay had early flight to catch. They leave soon but few minute were enough for Jay to be smitten by Uday. She didnt leave a chance to flirt with him and Uday being Uday responds back.

In USA

Next day, Jay and Arjun arrive from London and Komal & Vijay from India. Four stayed at hotel as Manyata had rommates. Day after, youngsters decide to go celebrate while komal planned to enjoy at spa. The group meets manyata's siblings.

Isha pull M aside, while jen, who notices, follows.

Isha - i dont think we can be friends

Shocked M - wait what happened?

Isha - how dare you lie?

M - I already told you my side. Why the change...

Isha - no i meant about Arjun and that he is sooo damn hot!!!!

Jen - she didnt lie, she never mentioned it

M - he is my BROTHER

Isha - we could have been relatives (m gives a confused look) i could be your sis in law

M laughs - sorry babe little late for that

M tells about his fixed marriage and heartbroken Isha hugs Jen. Just then Rohan comes and says - you are so not my friend!

M understood what he was hinting at - oh god sorry i didnt tell you about my sister!

Rohan- how did you.. anyways Jaynandini is your sister! Oh god I use to follow entertainment news just for her.

M - ya ya get in line, she is quite popular.

They rejoin others and have a blast.

Later that day, Komal & Devgarh kids go for family dinner. Jay talks M ears off about Unnati. Arjun tells M that roka is finalized 4 days from today and that all of us need to go to India after graduation.

M - theeke hai i will come back to US day after roka.

Komal - nai beta, aab aap humse door nai ja sakti

M - par maa humhe yaha sab pack karna hai, 2 din mein kaise hoga

Arjun - dont worry about that i will arrange it

It was decided day after graudation, M will shift to India permanently.

Just like that, 2 days fly by and it was time for her to leave. M - im miss you guys

Jen & Isha - me too

Isha adds - only few days, fir we will be together again in Mumbai

Rohan - ya me too

Isha annoyed - kabab mein haddi

Rohan shoves her aside and hugs M - she is just jealous of me.

Jen - aww i am jealous too,

Isha - well you have UV in London

M gives a fake smile, hearing his name brings back memories. Siblings bids goodbyes to others. Rohan nervously- so Jaynandini i will see you soon

Jay not interested says with fake smile - sure

Rohan gets happy and is about to hug her when she ducks under his arms and says - ill be back

She runs away outside, while Isha who notices this laughs. Rohan - chup chipkali

Isha - bandar

M - stop your fighting for once. Im leaving you know

Arjun - i hope i will see you all at my wedding? You are all invited.

M gets happy and hugs her brother - thank you dada

Next day in India, devgarh kids go out for shopping. M finally meets Unnati and in just couple of hours they become best friends. Unnati receives a call from Uday. Uday tells her he will arrive in India tomorrow evening before the roka ceremony. Unnati says - but dada we are all here, even Manyata and Jay are here, come soon.

Uday - sorry chotti i cant. But im sending you a apology gift, i think you will like it. it will be delivered tonight!

Unnati - really dada... thank you thank you

Uday -" ok listen to me carefully. Our mamasa is planning to attend roka. He will arrive from Australia tomorrow morning. You know how he can be! A family member will need to go receive him. Someone who can handle his tantrums."

Uday lets Unnati of his plan.

Later that night, Unnati receives a message from Arjun to come downstairs. She steps to entrance and says - "ji humhe bulaya"

Arjun - haan woh aapki gift has arrived

She looks here and there but sees no package just then someone walks in, she smiles and jumps into his arms and says - Luv bhaiyya ohh i missed you

Luv - i missed you too doll

Someone else taps her shoulder and say - what about me?

Unnati - kush bhaiyya oh my god!

Unnati looks the door hoping to see someone else

Luv - kya huya

Not seeing anyone, Unnati was bit sad and says kuch nai. Just then a someone enters the house and says - hum hai toh kya ghum hai.
