Prologue




I was running fast through the forests, trying to avoid hitting any trees. It looked about midnight. I had no idea where I was, or how I got here in the first place. All I remembered was going to bed and immediately falling asleep.
And when I opened my eyes, here I was in a forest, zooming past the trees.



I suddenly stopped, trying to think what I was running from. And that was when I heard it.



A Howl.
A Wolf's Howl to be exact.



One moment it sounded like it was miles away, and the next moment it felt like it was right here.



I heard a sound coming from the bushes a few feet away. My breathing started to fasten just thinking about what was behind those bushes.



What seemed like hours but were just a few seconds, a head emerged from the bushes. A Wolf's head. And then came the rest of its body.



My breath got stuck in my throat just by looking at it's sheer size. The Wolf's head almost came up to my shoulders.




As the Wolf took a step forward, a loud scream tore through my throat.

Chapter 1

The dream. Again. I've been having these kind of dreams since childhood.

Every time it starts differently but it always ends with that wolf. The wolf with the grey eyes. I usually don't remember my dreams, but just those grey eyes of the wolf. So captivating. So alluring. So loving. I know it's crazy, and maybe I am crazy, but it's true. It always feels like those grey eyes are calling to me. I've never seen eyes that beautiful before. Beckoning to come towards them.
But at the end, they're just a dream.

Today is the shifting day. I've just been transferred to the new branch of my company. Apparently, the owner thinks that we would gain more profits in this small town due to lack of designer stores here. So intelligent! When they asked me to move here, I didn't even have any problems. Living alone has some benefits. Living alone not as in living alone in a house. Living alone as in living alone in this world. I don't have any family. Never knew them. My parents died in a car crash when I was 4, so I don't even remember them. I grew up in an orphanage. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good too. Growing up in an orphanage is not easy. The orphanage for me wasn't my home, it was just a roof over my head. There were people who cared, but no one cared enough.

I had always felt so alone in the orphanage. Not that I don't feel alone anymore, but at that time I didn't know how to deal with it.


This town where I've been transferred feels the closest thing to home. I've never been here before, but the warmth that I feel inside my heart, makes me want to smile. And trust me when I say this, I've never felt like this before.

I didn't had to go for a house search, because the company provided us with a rent free house. Yes us. I'm not the only one transferred here, Zeke has been transferred here too and I have to share the house with him. Zeke is the closest thing I have to a friend, but according to him we're best friends.
I've known him for about three years.
When I first met him, the first words he said to me were-"Hey sexy, you and I are going to be best friends". That guy is totally nuts. But it's good to have somebody. And if that somebody is as sweet and as annoying as Zeke, it's more than good.
