Chandu check-in
He was at work when she woke. She had no idea who had picked up Chandu and gotten him ready and sent him off to school. It was almost Noon. She sat up when the sun beat down through the window slats threatening to light the bed of fire
She crinkled her eyes, disoriented, felt the bed by her, no sign of the kid
She was afraid, he was too sad and so ran away
She began leaving the room and realized she wasn't dressed right. The pounding was on full throttle across the hallway in the bedrooms that were still unfinished
She showered and wore a suit with a dupatta
Picked up her phone and scrolled through the contact
"Did u pick up Chandu? she texted her husband
"Good afternoon? he questioned
"Iska matlab hum itne der soye? she volleyed
"Ya phir aap hamey greet nahi karengi

She started to type but he wasn't done
"More than a few times he finished
