OS: He loves me, He loves me not?
Her mind was a riddle of kinds as she made her morning tea in Raizada house kitchen. A week since she'd become Mrs Raizada and this was a milestone in its self for a new bride who didn't really know much about well anything really.
Not even about the man she had married but like any wife with a heart like hers she longed to make their relationship work.
However was it normal to be thinking like this? a week later but like a small school girl did Khushi find herself reading into the situation.
Years back the solution would have been to pull at the petals of a flower in a game of odds he loves me he loves me not childish but true!
But beyond thoughts -
As Khushi found herself alert at the sound of some familiar footsteps was she that little bit more upright in her posture even at the kitchen counter knowing he'd just walked in of course his aftershave entering the room with him along with his coffee.
She'd worked out it was routine for her husband to have breakfast at this time over the past few days. Well actually because on her first day she'd followed him around awkwardly around the house not really knowing what else to do after a husband was his wifes true companion. He was actually very nice about it. He showed her around the house, made her feel welcome comfortable, he was kind.
Now she'd settled a tiny bit she turned around to find him sat at the table with his coffee and newspaper and preferred to wake up that little bit early just so she could be in his company a little bit longer whilst most of Raizada were still asleep. Wasn't he the most handsome man she'd ever been in the company of, fortunately for her she'd be sitting across the breakfast table from him all her life god permit she prayed quietly in her mind and then went back to her tea.
She wondered why he hadn't spoken yet, it was usually he who started the conversation so It had been over the last few days anyway.
Would you like more coffee? she said the only thing that came to mind. It was obvious that she was hesitant to start the conversation.
No' he replied and looked over at her for a second. His eyes were these deeply
He definitely didn't love her she thought with that reaction, why didn't he say anything more, he was too engrossed in his paper and he hadn't spoken to her all morning. She dropped her expression to her chai and biscuits a little disheartened.
Where as Arnav Singh Raizada well he watched his bride look uncomfortable but he was observant. When she did look up by chance there was a strange eye lock between the couple. For a moment Khushi didn't know if she as supposed to do something but then came his smile.
How strange she thought for a second she was so sure that he disliked her and now maybe not?
He loved her?, or he loved her not.
...
It was late lunchtime at Raizada House and as the phone rang Khushi was convinced it would be him because he'd call at this time to make sure she was okay but it happened to be Aakash. A little disappointed Khushi gave a sigh as she replied to her brother inlaw.
...
All she'd done all day was try to work out whether her husband loved her or not or hated her or not would be another way to put it.
She thought about every possible moment they had together.
From the minute they were married and she realized one thing that he'd given her attention for the first week but now it was as if he didn't see her or didn't care for her. Maybe he decided that he didn't like her? An instant worry started to fill her heart.
She needed answers.
It was easy to make a big fuss of little issues according to his grandmother who could see Arnav's bride seemed troubled.
"How long did it take for grandpa to fall in love with you." That was the question Khushi curiously asked her grandmother in law hoping she wasn't giving away too much of her problem.
The grandmother smiled of course the elderly were wise,
Me and your grandfather were already in love when we married she answered which made Khushi frown. She left a little disheartened why did she feel like this she asked herself.
"He loves you." Nani said as Khushi walked to leave the dinning area. How could she say that with so much conviction thought Khushi she was just being optimistic.
Khushi turned around and gave a smile she wasn't convinced but said nothing more.
...
When he came home that evening it was time to bite the bullet but Khushi being Khushi just couldn't.
She watched him walk in with his brother, the fact that he was this tall dark handsome man she'd been married to for a week had hopes and dream of didn't help her at all. She watched him as he discarded his blazer loosened his tie and took seat on the sofa with Aakash doing a similar thing.
Obviously Akaash was easier to approach at this point she was able to get his attention without many words
"Ji bhabhi." - He said with a smile as she pulled him to a side..
"Akaash I need you to help me.."
-Yeah sure Khushiji he said thinking it would be opening a jar of something or getting something for a height but it wasn't that.
He noticed that she seemed a little disturbed.
"Will you talk to him for me"
Akaash looked confused. Why would she want to go through him
"Unhe puchonge ke woh hamse khush toh hai na." will you ask him if.. if hes happy with me. Akaash's heart sank a little hearing this. She was really worried about something like this.?
"Khushiji.. well of course he is!" he was quick to reply because didn't even want to think of the alternative actually there was no alternative in his mind.
"Please.." she said with the most sincere pleading her eyes which Aakash could not ignore.
"Bhabhi isn't it something you should ." he started off with but she cut him off again.
"I can't Akaash woh.. I won't be able to." She said in a tone that said she couldn't explain her feelings.
"Ok don't worry I'll talk to him he agreed but it was then that they were interrupted.
"There's no need for that now."
Excuse us for a moment won't you Aakash he spoke as he walked closer into the kitchen. Aakaash passed a look of understanding towards Khushi telling her she'd be fine but he could see she wasn't ready for this.
Akaash had no choice but leave her but it didn't matter because he knew it was going to be okay.
He gave her a glance but to make it less awkward then she was finding it he went about his way brewing his coffee, "can I get you anything..?"
"No" she replied still stood in that spot unsure of how things were about to go.
When he turned around from the counter he realize that Khushi hadn't moved at all, she seemed unsure alone in that spot not at all how he wanted her to feel.
"Right .. Come here".. he said as he approached the kitchen table. It was circular with two chairs one on each side.
But he decided to be less formal and perched on the table putting his coffee to a side after a few sips.
He waited for Khushi and as she walked closer towards the table looked upon her with care.
Knocking the chair out of the way with slight kick of the foot he decided to bring her closer.
Taking her hand in his which surprised her of course but just that was the most wonderful thing for Khushi who had got herself in such a frenzy over her thoughts.
Startled that he had just bought her so close Khushi looked up at him for a moment to see the most comforting of eyes looking her way.
I don't invest in anything I'm not convinced I can love Khushi
Hmm and if I came across as distant this morning I apologize I was observing you this morning you wanted to speak to me didn't you yet you're hesitant to approach me, don't be .
He said pulling her in more to surprise even more.. it broke her into a smile however and she realized that all her worries were baseless. It was when he made a point to kiss her on her forehead did Khushi's heart flood joy.
He loves me her mind and heart both agreed leaving her in bliss.
