I was also thinking same they can shut everyone's mouth by telling bout Prenup but then also people like SAMs MIL will never be satisfied and state that too a stunt to get married or fool people...

They will never talk about the prenup openly, but the thought might cross their minds...but Ranjan can hint that at MM it's just the opposite, the middle class Bahu refuses to take anything and if ever they separate among other things wealth could be a major factor! now that nivi is also in the picture, how are they managing their money matters? its not as if II will ever ask him for anything, she will be more than happy to keep spendng, but RB knows her financial halat, so is he transferring money to her account regularly and II is ok with it? i am sure she can manage now lekin aage chal kar, education, activities etc, everything is very expensive and it's not that II's gotten a prmotion or a massive raise. Just curious to know how they are handlign this sticky issue now.

Hmm it is a matter of thought as nowadays everything is so expensive and as we read nivi changes her outfits also 4 to 5 times a day and then she will be going to school soon and toys and other things r also there and yes their Paris trips ... Who buys tickets and all

Knowing II she would not have been an easy nut to crack...

There is an old saying in my culture that translates roughly into the following : do not touch garbage even with a ten foot pole for the only thing you will get out of it bad smell. I think this applies very well regarding tan' mother. I think no one should say anything to her. She will finally get tired of her rant and shut up. I think that she is so insignificant in the lives of the Bhalla's that they should absolutely ignore her. I think one ought to confront people that mean something to us. For the rest I think ignoring them and what they say will yield the best result. Why waste energy ? She is never going to change her mind. They should all absotuly dismiss her and the things she says.

Ranjan spoke calmly "Aapka matlab Ishita se hai ya hamari Samyukta se" he said composing himself quick, grunting, smiling

Tan's Mom exhaled, not responding

Tan's dad grit his teeth

"Both assumptions are wrong behenji" he said standing up and wandering out the sun room door into the front lawn

Sam unaware of what had transpired between her dad and MIL, came in to invite people to come in for a snack

"Aidar le aa" hee MIL said dismissively

"Beeji bhi aaye hain aap andar chaliye" Sam begged

"Mainnu bhook nahi" he MIL sulked

Tan returned with his drink in his hand and showed Sam a text or a picture Sam chuckled
Her MIL was unhappy to watch that

"Ma?" Tan enquired

"Mere sarich dard haiga" she said feebly

Tan's Dad grunted in disbelief

"Dolly ki chinta chhaddo Ma, uska kara dhar hai sab" Tan raised his voice

Sam was sharing the memes with II

II froze

"Gussa bahar waalon ke saamne dikhayega?" his mom accused

"She is his brother's wife" Tan was shocked

"Haan... umm..." his mother swallowed and sighed

"Tujhe kuch kaha Ma ne?" Tan asked furiously

II shook her head terrified unsure what was going to follow

"Aapko kuch kaha maine?" his Mom accused II

"Aunty kuch bhi nahi"II tried to smile weakly

"Dont take it out on them Ma, they have their own struggles" Tan spoke warmly

Sam pulled I's hand and they attempted to leave

Ranjan returned "Betaji ki hai nashte mein?" he asked

"Struggle ki hona hai, paisa bathera haiga..." his Mom muttered


"Tan beta... calm down" Ranjan said firmly "chalo beeji... kuch na kuch vadiya banaya hona hai isne" he said abt his daughter

Beeji waddled quietly

Following his daughter and DIL out of the sun room

Tan shut the door behind them and sat on the divan with a livid expression

"Dad aapke liye baked spring rolls hain hum sab ke liye FRIED" Sam chuckled

ranjan noticed how pained her expression was

R&B sat in the kitchen feeding his daughter and Lasya cut up spring rolls

Lasya grabbed R&B's arm and fed her own mouth

Nivi opened and closed her mouth longingly, and just laughed saying "tha tha tha tha" she said wagging her fat fist
She had no clue Lasya was being bossy and mean

She was just happy to be near lasya

She idolized this tall girl, she was fat and lumpy... Lasya was fashionable too

Nivi had tried to grab Lasya's chunky Nemo pendant... Lasya had pushed her away "MO..." (No) (ME) (Mine)

Rejection, indifference nothing seemed to bother Nivi she was pleasant and foolish, like a keyed up toy she opened her mouth whenever he fed Lasya
And Lasya opened her mouth whenever he tried to feed Nivi, he got a good laugh off of it

"Awww CHOOO CHWEEET" II gushed "starvin sisters" she laughed

R&B fed his daughter twice in a row as Lasya waited angrily sputtering like mustard on a hot pan

Nivi smiled at her Daddy with gratitude

She didnt know how to chew on cabbage strings or carrots but she loved the sweet sauce...

She saw II and spazzed "Look Mommy I am eating"

II chuckled

"My beti is a petu" II said

"Bechaari II" sam scolded

They all sat down to eat a variety of Thai and Chinese appys

Sam looked worried and preoccupied

"Do u want to go to Paris in August" R&B said suddenly

And she began to cry

Lasya paused wondering if R&B said something mean to her mother and started to crackle like a dry twig

R&B's lips twitched

He turned to look at his wife and muttered "did u see that?" he asked

II nodded smiling cutely "She loves her Amma"

Nivi used the opportunity to shove another chunk of roll into her mouth

Beeji and Ranjan chatted with Tan's Dad

Tan was still duking it out with his Mom II felt terrible

"Aur YEH?" Yeh hogi waha ya nahi?" Sam sniffled and giggled

"If he promises to cook and clean" II said quietly

"OHMIGOSH my brother is a sex slave" Sam said

II was mortified Sam had screamed that line

Ranjan chuckled

"Sammm, just slave... no... um... u know"

"Tan ka school hai" Sam said somberly

"Shes here, she can do it" R&B said dismissively referring to Tan's Mom

Loved it - the cuties Lasya looking out for her Mom and Nivi enjoying her moment with her Mom!
Pssst can I go along to Paris too. Just the cuties would do for me 😉
Tan's Mom - the real world that we can't seem to do without.
