Part Fourteen

Anyway the whole morning we didn't do much we were in my room with Kanan as well, she had come over and our parents called us down for lunch. So we went downstairs and everyone was already sitting down on the table. Kanan sat down beside her mum, I sat down beside her and Angad sat down on the right side of me. No one had started yet everyone was waiting for us. Finally my mum said, "Well, shall we start?" everyone started laughing and started putting food onto their plates and everyone broke up into little conversations like all the fathers, all the mothers and Kanan, Angad and me. Everyone had food on their plates except for me because Angad was holding my hand underneath the table, I couldn't put food in because he was holding my right hand and I was right handed, he could put food in because he was holding my right hand with his left hand so he could easily put food in his plate with his right hand. Then after a few minutes of us talking, Kanan asked me, "Kripa, why are you not eating anything, are you on a diet or something?" that is when I actually noticed that I hadn't taken anything to eat. So I just started putting food in from my left hand and my hand was shaking a bit because I wasn't used to serving food with my left hand but luckily no one noticed. And coincidently the topic at the table was about karva chaut and its preparations.That is when Kanan asked me, "Kripa, so when are we getting mehendi put on our hands?" then Angad asked "do you two keep fasts as well?" She replied, "I don't but you know Kripa she has to she is really into these things." Angad gave me a sweet look and asked me, "Really, who do you keep it for?" I knew what he was trying to do he wanted himself to be special. Then to teach him a lesson I quickly took my hand out of his hand. So I brought my hand out from under the table to my plate so that I could eat normally. After that Angad got angry and got up, told everyone he has ate and went up to his room.
