It is not like misras are losing neel ,but they all are getting Two new faces to their family.this marriage is somewhat like adopting a woman and her child by a grand generous family...i cant imagine how lonely she must be feeling in all those ceremonies...

Its not easy to admit that your once SIL is not ur SIL from now on.and its very difficult for misras to watch suvi in their daughters position...but it will not take too much time for them to accept suvi as daughter-like...

Suvi cant share her best day's details with her parents or siblings...thats most toughest to imagine...i dont want her to suffer these emotional traumas in future...

Heart goes out to Suvi. However much you try to pretend that you are strong and ac do things on your own, occasions such as these remind you how important it is to belong, be a part of, have someone who is yours. I wish the miseras would literally take her as their own daughter. This way they won't lose a damaad.

This story truly tugs your heart.
Suvi looking and finding Neel.
Aadhya so wrapped with people who are nice to her and Nihar finding it difficult to let go of his mothers memories. Poor kid it can't be easy for him. Tai really need a resting place now
😡 Varsha can't call her Sister on her special day!!
Singapoor sure is expensive - the most expensive city in the world for families- but taking your moms saris and not flying don't is so not done!!
This city has lovely people steeped in Asian culture .. the seniors work actively ( especially the Chinese) to contribute to the society and family. The tea Aunty in my office is 68 smiles the 4 hours she is here almost non stop and then picks up her little grandkids from the kindergarten before she heads home. And then there are people like Tai and of course grandparents like Kalpana mentioned. Nothing wrong with that either 😊
So many hues in life. The same action looks right when we are out in the same circumstance.
Hats off to you Nisha for this space and effort you put in breathing life into their parts.
The awesome spin off for me and a few others on this thread are that they seamlessly move into real space from the cyber coffee shop head out of holidays to exotic mangrove forests or have chai together almost every Friday at the office coffee shop.
RnB and Appa are as much a part of the coffee date as much as the wise woman I chat up and rant to every Friday.
There are also a couple of people I write to who know all that happens in my life and there to talk to no questions asked or judgements passed.

Can't thank you enough 😳

SWA I Fully agree with you that this is a lovely hang out area. The diversity we see around us add a certain flavour and perspective to life. Folks like Varsha and Tai are there all around as also the Mishra's and Pants and Bhallas .
The Wise old woman you catch up for tea certainly adds a very stabilising ingredient to my life as well. I cannot thank you enough for bringing her on to this lovely space Nisha has created.

Loved the title. Families don't remain static do they? Branches, Generations evolve and as new relationships get made, the lexicon to family like step, half also expands and while few can be defined, we struggle to name a few of the relationships. Misras would still have a biological connect with Nihar and they would be even by law connected to the pandits. Suvi is now a new member of Pant Misra family.

The Misras have been generous so far with the pants and also suvi. If they give a chance to suvi, I'm sure they wouldn't be disappointed.

Varsha thinks suvi In a way is responsible for their parents death but by continuing to punish her, she doesn't realize that she is killing suvi slowly .

On the lexicon, I sometimes think, parents who adopt children of different ethnicities and make them siblings... how do you name them???They are not step relations... they are not half... they are not biological relations ... only legal... that's why the lexicon doesn't matter, but the bonds made does.

Where are the Mishra , Pants and Bhallas not in my life yet .. and still working on making an RnB out of mine ( nowhere near there though) 😉
And when you fuzzy wombats planning your next trip?!! Do let me know what the first one meant to you. I told Asma it's akin to an off the cliff nasty bungee jump I still can't believe her RnB was fine with it .. but the man asks no questions does he?! I'm Over the moon you guys had a fab time and actually came back in one piece despite the crocodiles and tigers on prowl. The pictures look great

And I will take your pat for bringing Asma here - 😳 I scrolled back to ensure I did not say wise old woman. Her Neel will pull me through a shredder 😆 but then again he should you don't get to see a human being so accomplished ; with the curiousity of 5 year old and all that humility often do you?

Nisha hope your boys are good. And Kalpana learnt quite recently what an empty nest looks like. A big hug to all you mums out here that gives us kids wings for our flights .. surely the most unselfish thing to do ❤️
