CH 18 : When I look At You

He felt like some sort of a perverted, staring at her as she relished her ice-cream. She was making cute faces while eating, and happiness twinkling in her brown orbs, making her look like an innocent child. Innocent Child? No! She wasn't a child anymore, he could bet on that. She was stunningly innocent beautiful woman, but still a child at heart.

He observed her again from the corner of his eyes, all he seemed to do these days was take sneaked glances at her or stare at her like some stalker. He felt his lips curving into a small smile, seeing the ice-cream smudge on her nose and near her lips, with a child like smile playing on her lips. Her hair were flying in air, adding more sparks to her timeless beauty.

"Beautiful!" Those words escaped his lips without his acknowledge.

Her head snapped toward him, and she look at him.

"You said something?" She asked him, confusingly. Rey shook his head, he grabbed a tissue paper and turned to her.

Her brows knitted in confusion while her heart rate picked up, as he moved close to her. His eyes never leaving hers.

"You have some ice-cream on your nose." He mumbled softly and cleaned the cream off her nose. She look at him with surprised filled eyes, crimson red hues spread across her cheeks at his close proximity. It never fail to amuse her, how her body reacts to his simplest touch.

"I am done. Lets go home now." Taani murmured, breaking the silence that prevailed between them. Rey nodded in agreement, ignoring her protest, he paid the bill and holding her hand, he came out of the ice-parlor.

"Why you paid for my ice-cream? I could have-"

"I know, you could have, but when i am with you, i am not gonna let you pay." He silenced her with his reply. He smirked when she didn't answered back. They hopped in his car and Rey drove away to her house.

Ronak look at his sister who entered the house with Rey. He frowned, wondering why his sister is coming home with Rey when they are not even friends? But not assuming things on his own, he decided to talk to his sister. He had noticed changes in her since he had come here, some were good while some bad, he wanted to talk to her regarding the same, but never got time.

"Hi, Di! Hi, Rey Bhai!" Ronak greeted them with a smile.

"Where is swayum bhai?" Ronak asked his sister.

"He must be coming with sharon, all of his friends are coming over-" Taani informed him with a smile. She went in kitchen to fetch water for herself and Rey, where as Rey sat with ronak in living area.

"Aap taani di ke saath?" Ronak asked him, he raised his one eye brow at him.

"Damn! Possessive bhai is in action." He thought to himself and look at ronak, who was waiting for his reply.

"We went to have an ice-cream after college. Is there any problem, Ron?" Rey questioned him back, as if he had no idea why ronak was questioning him.

"No. Nothing. No problem." Ronak denied and smiled awkwardly.

Just then, taani entered there and handed a glass of water to Rey, who thanked her and gulped down the water. Taani smiled and took her seat opposite to them on the couch.

"Taani di, Dad called and said, he will be coming here next month and then he will start your training." Ronak informed his sister who nodded in response.

"Training? What kind of training?" Rey, who was confused, asked them.

"Taani di will join our family business after college, so dad is starting her training in office." Ronak explained him, Rey nodded, impressed to hear about her future plans.

Ronak and Taani walked inside his room, leaving the dance team members in living area to discuss about their plans regarding dance ban.

Rey sighed as he walked the brother-sister duo walked away from there, giving the team privacy to talk. Her departure from there, upset him, but he understood her reasons as well. He knew, she doesn't think herself to be part of the dance team, but he had hoped, atleast for him, she would have stayed.

Brushing his thoughts aside, he tried concentrating on the meeting, but his mind was occupied by her thoughts, which made little difficult for him to think about anything else at the moment.

And on the other hand, Taani and Ronak were busy in talking to each other.

"Di, if you don't mind, can i ask you something-" Ronak trailed off hesitantly.

"Sure, Ron." Taani smiled at her brother.

"You and Rey bhai?" Ronak trailed off, not knowing how to ask her about her personal life. It was awkward for him.

"Ronak, Ask whatever you want, I am not gonna eat you." Taani told her brother, she knew where this conversation was leading to, but she was ready for it, since its ronak she is talking to. Though he was over possessive by nature, but he was the most understanding person one could come across.

She knew, her brother will understand her, no matter what.

"Don't take me wrong, huh? I am just asking because i have seen it, do you like him?" Ronak asked his sister after he was successful in pushing his awkwardness and hesitation in back of his head.

Taani stare at her brother, wondering if her feelings for rey are so obvious? That even her little brother could guess.

"Well-" She trailed off hesitantly.

"I do." Then she admitted finally.

Ronak look at his sister who was looking at anything but him. He could understand her hesitancy around him.

"Di, its alright. Its not wrong to like someone, and definitely not wrong to share about it with your brother." Ronak kept his hand on her and assured her. His soothing tone, eased her nervousness a bit.

"But don't tell about this to anyone. I do have some feelings for him, but he don't. And i don't want anyone, specially him to know." Taani told her brother, who nodded in response. Taani doesn't want to give pain to him again, by telling him about her feelings, again.

"Are you sure about his feelings, Di? I mean, the way he look at you, care about you, all this say something else-" Ronak asked her. Taani shifted uncomfortably in her place, talking about her love life with her brother, was one uncomfortable thing.

"He cares for me because i am swayum's sister, and can we drop this topic, Please? I feel awkward to talk about this with my baby brother-" Taani pouted cutely, causing him to chuckle.

"Thats alright, di. Before brother-sister, we are friends, you don't have to feel awkward with me." Ronak said to her, the comfort level they share with each other, was something they don't share with swayum, since swayum and they hardly spend time together, specially after swayum came to mumbai. Taani was close to both her brothers, but she share a special bond with ronak, who understand her better and was always there for her. She knew, she can count on him to be her support in any situation.

"Finally, my di is growing up. She likes a guy, its time to celebrate." Ronak announced dramatically which had her rolling her eyes at him.

"Ron, control yourself else all will come to know about it." Taani hushed her brother, who nodded and gave an apologizing look to her.

"Lets go and have pizza outside." Ronak suggested. Taani nodded in agreement, since she was feeling hungry and was not in mood to cook anything.
