The twins sat under the dining table with Sahana and the dogs "watching" something on tablets

Nivi sat in the backyard by Ranjan writing "non fiction" passage about mornings she claimed

"Nee vanda appa ku nanna irukkum" Amma said sadly(can u come?)

"Of course Amma I am going to be there, I am just planning if I can come to the hospital directly or or come to Rohini first"

Appa had to have intestinal surgery, there were enough ulcers in there that the Doc didnt want to "trest" them with drugs


II was quoting the example of Ranjan that had to have some moles removed from his skin 3 months ago

Because of his light skin and being at his workshop and car warehouse lots under the sun a lot a couple of moles were pre cancerous he was told

II had stayed up many nights crying

R&B was in Parist first but had returned on teh day of the biopsy, and everything was "good" the Doc said

So II's comment of "who knows what R&B feels"

Sahana smacked Sid and he began to cry

James fled the scene, he knew he was next

She crawled out smugly and complained loudly in gibberish

"Neeyum onn sattayum, paathukko (look at u)" II lifted her with difficulty

Sahana wore what was ONCE a white slip like summer cotton frock from Calcutta with embroidery around the arms

Nivi wore a 10 year old version of the same

Hers was crisp and new

Sahana's was not even white

Her face was covered in syrup and chocolate and dirt


II washed her screaming face in the kitchen sink

Sat her down inside and turned on the shower faucet

Chuck circled her feet

"May i?" "May I?" "Please?"

Sahana picked up the dish scrubber and rubbed herself

II laughed out loud

She was stressed about Appa, her kids made her smile

Sid still cried now and then to remind II how "hurt" he was

Ved fed James cheerios from the floor

R&B came down from the back stairs and found his daughter scrubbing herself in the kitchen sink

He refilled his coffee at the machine
James wagged his tail and wanted to be picked up he bend down and picked him up

"Daddee the baby macked me (smacked) " Sid tattled

He set his coffee down and picked Sid up

The younger ones were all either naked, or almost naked, and covered in grime

II chopped bhindi, as she made dosa on a tava

"Onakku venuma?" she asked (do u want?)


"No.. I ate eggs" he said

Sahana turned the hose all over the kitchen

II slapped her butt and picked her up as Sahana held a steel tumbler of water and set her on the floor

James walked over to her

"Glad u got what u deserved"

Sahana gave James a bath

"There!!" she looked at him

"Why is she naked?" R&B asked quietly

"She hit Sid"

"Thats the new punishment?" he asked chuckling

"Dadde... Mimi ka is goim to the zoo cam we go?" Ved wrapped himself around R&B's legs

He set Chuck down and picked up Ved

"Mimi ka has a paper to write" he whispered kissing him

Sahana was long gone to another room

Naked and dripping with water

Ranjan brought her back a few minutes later

"Gudiya geeli haigi" he said startled

"I gave her a bath in the sink" II said

"Ja beta... tainnu Rohini nahi jaana?" he said

"Its at 3 Its not even 10 now" she said nodding somberly

"Main chalan saath?" he offered

"I have 4 kids now remember? Sofia is off today... they will kill Mavvy, R&B needs u" she laughed

"Na jee naa.. kaise maarenge Mavvy nu, mere bache tey sant hainge ney" (my grand kids are angels)

"Shore!!!" II scoffed

Chuck circled Ranjan's feet


"Achha baith raha hoon" he told the told

II set dosas in front of him

"Khaana Mavvy bana lega, ja.. chhethi jayin puttar" he said
"Sid wanted vendakka curry" (bhindi) II said serving Ranjan chutney

"Amma Mimi ka is goim to the zoo" Ved followed her, sliding down the ladder like Daddee

"Thatha is taking her for a paper, u both will drive him crazy" II said preoccupied

"And BTW its GO-ING... INGGG INGGG" she rolled her eyes

"Go--IMMM" "IMMM" Ved repeated

Sahana picked up James by his tail

"I have other features u know?" James yelped "I have a body, arms and legs and ears"

Ranjan gave her a piece of dosa, she fed it to James

"As long as u feed me Iyer food I guess u can torture me" he ate quick

"He can watch the kids should I go with u?" R&B asked

Handing Sid to his Dad

"No Akka and Shravu are coming too" "Its justa consult... maybe for surgery" II nodded

Sahana sat near Ranjan's feet eating community dosa.. with the dogs

"Her orange dress is in Dad's room, can u get it please?" she asked R&B

He went up and got it and put it on her with another diaper

"Coffee chalega Dad?" she asked

He nodded

"Teri beti dayalu hai... oye hoye... kuthe ko khila rahi hai, aape nahi khaana usne" Ranjan laughed

"They are just glad to be alive" II cackled

Chuck barked as he saw a bird fly low outside
"Dey... enough" II ordered

He whined looking at II "I am only protecting ur family"

"Yaaru? Nee daane?" II scoffed (Oh YOU?)

"Fine.. I am just going to eat dosa" he sat by Sahana on the floor and waited for "dosa gods" aka Ranjan to fling scraps from the sky.

R&B sat outside on the rattan sofa listening to his daughter read the non fiction passage

Thanks Vani. You are all way more dedicated readers than I am. As for posting I don't fight shy just that I don't want to be repetitive and by the time I get here everything is analysed. I interact whenever I have a surging need to write to Nisha and I'm guessing her PM box must be clogged 😛

What a picture perfect family - method in the madness no doubt. Last update ka title padh kar I was wondering how would RB be at giving Sex Ed to the twins? Or would he give them the talk at all? I guess I can imagine II talking to Nivi about the birds and the bees. I guess she will say one important thing after beating about the bush and talking A zillion paragraphs and RB's pearls of wisdom would be direct and precise. Can't imagine the look on the twins faces.

The wise old men continue to make the world a better place to live despite Old Father Time catching up with them to remind us of the grim reality of mortality . Meanwhile in the Sahana samraj all her subjects are merry and afloat in the knowledge that subservience to her Majesty the queen will do well to get a bone or two thrown at them.

The twirled dogs tail becomes a handle to their fate she dispenses as she pleased

The tormentor transforms into a socialist partaking their meal with fervor and zest

Sahana comes down to their state to mess herself and fling herself passionately in the ,ess

She prefers to be a streaker and wander her domain in nudity

Dressing her and undressing her , her Amma seems to tire easily and run out of ideas

The ease with which she pocks and scrubs herself with whatever she finds

The yearning glances and ruckus she makes to clamber up the stairs

What will she not resort to to reach her goal

The puppies have no respite from her rotate and fling

She has a troop appointed to gather and maintain her possessions

To chart her course and coach her moves is the coalition of twin mentors

The Patriarch, her daddee and fore born are Defenders of Sahana

Many have lost their heart to her and Vikas tops the list

The sway of this great dictator keeps expanding
