I turned around to see Lavanya standing with an angry glare on her face. Oh god. I quickly recollect what all I have done in the past twenty four hours. I went to mandir, then me and Jiji went for shopping, because of which I was late by an hour and then I had a fight with Laad Governor... Shit. I looked at Lavanya a bit nervously, giving her a sheepish smile. 'Yes, ma'am?'
'When did you give ASR the file of new collections?'
I fidgeted nervously, playing with my fingers. This was all Jiji's fault. If she hadn't insisted on going to the food court, I wouldn't have lost myself in those heavenly jalebis. I sighed. 'Yesterday evening at four.'
'And what time did I tell you to submit them, Miss Chamkili? At three! How irresponsible of you, Khushi! You know how annoyed and irritated ASR was! All because of you! And on top of that you actually argued with him. You know he hates anyone questioning him.'
'But ma'am it's not like he needed them urgently. His presentation is at four today, if I'm not wrong. I don't see why is he making such an issue,' I mumbled, a bit annoyed. It has been like this for the past seven months that I have been working here. It's like he's getting revenge on me for something. One mistake by me and he makes sure I never hear the end of it. Had it been someone else I can bet all my jalebis he wouldnt have been this annoyed and wouldnt have chewed their ears off. But no. It was me, Khushi Kumari Gupta. Of course he HAD to make an isssue. If it wasn't the need of money, I would have happily given in my resignation by now.
'Whatever. Just make sure this does not happen again. Anyway, here.' She handed me an envelope. 'It's the invite for the annual cruise. Make sure you are present there. No excuses. I think Anjali Di is also attending this time and you know I'm gonna need your help.'
And this was my second job. To train my boss on how to become a perfect bahu for the Raizada household. Personally, I think it's stupid on how she's paying me for this but apparently, laad governor grandma is not happy with his choice. So I have to groom Lavanya so she can marry the devil with family's blessing.
'But ma'am, this cruise leaves tomorrow and I am not even sure if my family-'
'Take today off and do whatever preparations you have to do for this cruise. You are coming and it's final. Besides, this is your job. You can't back out.'
'Sure, whatever you say, your highness,' I muttered under my breath.
