Smiles and Shock
He had a call all night on April 19th he told her, he didnt go with her to DII
She texted him as she pretended to feed the baby, she still wasnt happy, she didnt feel any of the
symptoms or changes in her body that Akka, Sam and the lactation expert talked about,
but Nivi seemed to be doing fine, she held the corner of the thin drape II used to cover herself
She smiled looking at the fistful of fabric
She gently caressed the fat cheek "This is my most fave place in the world. I have imagined being married to Jake Gylenhaal and Shahrukh Khan" she whispered
"I bet in ur times actors would be cuter"
She sighed and looked at the Godrej, and imagined herself leaning on it that afternoon
wearing that half saree, and how he walked in, stormed in with the bag of books.
"I want three girls" she said in trying to mimic his soft husky voice
"I am telling u... he is evil"
Nivi paused as if she understood
II picked her up midway and kissed her cheek
Nivi began to cry loudly
She fed her again
"U are so adamant and focused like someone I know" she whispered
Akka came in with a bowl of gulab jamun
Amma was heard scolding Akka "Vandu... DONt give her outside stuff di... she is nursing the baby"
"Amma its a sweet" Akka groaned
And handed it to II
II pulle dher legs up, as Akka sat
"Kya keh raha hai tera miya?" Akka asked
"I dont know he said he had calls"
II said
As if on cue "Did she smile?" he texted
"A lot" she responded
"May I see a picture?" he texted
She sent a few she had taken after coming to D II
"I meant the smile" he clarfied
"Oh! I was too busy enjoying it to capture it" she lied
He sent back a half smile
Bala came carrying Shubhang
"Boss kidhar hai?" he asked II, turning away, as II gave the baby to Akka and fixed her clothing
"Balaaa..." Akka scolded "U need to knock from now"
"Sorry da" Bala was sheepish
"Hey Athim aa jao" II cooed
Bala came in grabbed the baby, Akka had burped her... based on the spit up II was pleased...
Akka grabbed her son
II reached for him
"U want to see chhota baby?" II cooed to baldie, rubbing his head
"Dekho kitni chalu hai, hers has enough to get two pig tails, isne shraap lagaa lagaa kar mere bete ko ganja kar diya"
Shubhang squirmed, he was skinny with a oval face, but very charming, a lil quiet
II crushed him
"U want to go with me to Malcha Marg?" II asked
"Ek baat bata? WHY are u going so soon?" Bala asked
II looked at him quietly
"they all want to be with the baby" II said
"To yaha aa jaaye na?" Bala argued
II didnt have an answer... "Umm... he has calls, he wants his balcony, he wants his books, his music" Ii explained
"Tu aise baat kar rahi hai jaise Amma Appa tere jangal mein rehte hain" Bala argued
"I know... I do sound like that dont I?" II chuckled
"Wahan to koi hai bhi nahi, yaha Vandu aa jaayegi tere saath baithne" Athim tempted her
"Can Akka stay for three months?"
"Wah bhai... to hum kya karenge?" Bala winked, hugging Vandu
"Akka was challenging ME, looks like YOU cant live without Akka" II laughed
Akka glared "Podi!! We must have done hardly 5 times" Akka looked at Athim accusingly
"Audit hai Vandu... last two months, its been crazy" Bala fought
"I can watch both" II chuckled
"Tere father in law ne 5 naukar lagaye hain, chal Vandu" Bala gushed
Akka smacked him "Chheee no da"
Amma peeked
"Aap rukogey na, khaane par?" she asked Bala
"Saali ke saath khayenge Mami, kya khilaogey
"Uske liye parhez waala aapko kuch bhi" Amma said
"ammmaaa..." II cried
"Podi... u cant have chholey bhature" Amma ordered

"Tujhe pata nahi teri fauj tujhe lene aa rahi hai on naming ceremony day" Bala chuckled
