Part 14

Years passed by, but the reunion which Arnav's heart sought after didn't occur but his hopes were far away from wavering. Instead of looking out for opportunities to meet Khushi, Arnav left the meet completely on destiny because he knew that his Khushi was better off with him.

Many things had changed in his life after Khushi had left, and one of those things was Arnav seeking therapy when the pain of separation was taking a toll and his guilt was not helping him either. His therapist Sangeeta was a patient lady and never in his therapy which had begun half an year ago did she she hurry or lose her patience at his heinous deeds. But unfortunately she had recommended another therapist for him because she was under the thought that she would not be able to do as much justice as the other one can.

Reluctantly and hesitantly, Arnav moved to the cabin of the other therapist hoping that he would not have to repeat the deeds committed by him. His guilt was already living off his vital force and reliving those moments would do nothing but boost his guilt. Though he knew that he deserved it, Arnav was no brave man. He was scared of the pain that tormented him and that fear had landed him in the therapy center.

Arnav went inside the cabin as instructed by the receptionist and the sight which greeted him, managed to shock him out of his wits. It was his wife, his love, his Khushi sitting on the desk and it wouldn't be too wrong for him to assume that she was the therapist recommended by Sangeeta.

" You??" Arnav stood shocked and perplexed as he stared at her in an unblinking manner as if she would vanish if he blinks.

" Mr.Raizada? You are the patient who was sent by Sangeeta?" Flashes of their intertwined past made their way in Khushi's confounded brain and it seemed to her that it was not soon before all her professional training would wear away and she would end up in a puddle of tears.

" Khushi...you became a therapist?"

The very utterance of her name from his trembling lips posed a challenge, harder than she could imagine, to her already wavering self-control. She was scared that this moment of unnerving moment would arrive sometime in future but dreaded all the more that it wouldn't.

Arnav Singh Raizada might not have the right to her forgiveness but her heart ran after the man to whom the lines between good and bad blurred to reveal a path to win her even if it was temporary. The parting moment still played fresh at the back of their brain. While it brought happiness to one that the wait had finally ceased, it brought upon confusion on how to react for the another.

" It is Maya Chaturvedi, Mr.Raizada. And yes, I am a therapist." Khushi had chosen a new identity for herself, just in case Arnav searched for her, she would be immune to it and she had taken Shyam's surname for herself.

Chaturvedi?
That was Shyam's surname, wasn't it?

The question haunted Arnav's sanity as he wondered if Khushi had remarried.Arnav wanted to laugh at himself for thinking of a remarriage. What if his love never considered the marriage between them and broke it off as soon as she left from his life.

Seeing Arnav dazed and completely lost, Khushi decided to take the matter into her own hands.

" I'm afraid, you will have to tell me your problem again. It is our clinic's policy that if a therapist recommends another then it would be counted as a completely new case owing to the fact that it gives a better sense judgement when patient relates the case rather than a therapist. I sincerely hope that it wouldn't be a trouble." Khushi's impeccable formal tone confounded Arnav. 8 years and she changed to a completely different individual?

" It is nothing that you have not known, Khushi-"

" I am sorry if I wasn't clear enough before but I said my name was Maya Chaturvedi, Mr.Raizada." Her senses went haywire everytime he uttered her name. It brought back the memories of the past which she never wanted to be reminded of. But she knew, how much of a failure she was in that case.

" You will remain to be Khushi for me, no matter what." Arnav's firm and determined tone reminded Khushi that she was speaking to a person who never bent in front of anyone and chose to give up on the stupid fight they were about to have.

" Fine, whatever. I would be really grateful if you tell me what is your problem. It would be astounding for me if I learn that you are seeking help for something I have known, given that this is our first meet since the last 8 years.I just happen to know it is a case of love and familial relationship problems. Nothing more than that." It was hard. But Khushi was a hard nut to crack too. She knew that she cannot just ask Arnav to walk away as that would cause immense loss to Shyam's clinic and she seriously owed a lot to that man. Moreover, she wanted to prove to herself if not him that she was not scared of facing him.

Arnav's intense gaze lingering over her marital chain was not helping her maintain her composure and she knew that her determination to not break down was waning away. She tried to calm herself down by telling herself that Arnav was probably having problems dealing with the innumerable girls he was dating and his family's reaction to it. But when finally Arnav's answer came, it shook her from within so hard that she knew that the reins of her control had slipped from her hands,

" This is about us, Khushi. I am seeking therapy to reduce my guilt for hurting you and forcing you."

What would be Khushi's reaction?

Interesting. It's a very nice ff. Oh and now how will khushi react? She is also having feelings for arnav but she isn't accepting. Update soon.
